Days Bay is a nice quiet beachfront neighborhood surrounded by bush. The studio is located about 100m back from the beach. Within a 2 minutes walk of the property, you can experience the Days Bay swimming beach, Days Bay Pizzeria, Days Bay Pavilion Cafe, Days Bay Cafe, Sea Salt Restaurant (amazing views to Wellington), a lovely gift shop and gallery, bus stop, Williams Park and bush walks galore. The East by West Ferry takes commuters to/from Days Bay and Wellington throughout the day and also stops at historic Matiu/Somes Island.
Within 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk along the beach front is the Eastbourne Village. Here you will find the supermarket, pharmacy, deli, post shop, gift shops, Fish and Chips, Indian Takeaway, Liquor shop, Library, cafes, playground, outdoor swimming pool, school and the pub.
GETTING HERE
Wellington is a 30 minute drive, the airport about 40 minutes – depending on traffic. If you are flying in, it is sensible to catch an Uber or the Airport Shuttle – delivers to the door (cheaper than a taxi).
If you are coming off the InterIslander Ferry, have a look out the right window as you sail into the harbour and you will see Eastbourne Village and the Bays. I will be a lovely 20 minute drive around the harbour from the ferry terminal.

This wound up being nicer than half the places we stayed during our travels! The place is cozy and cute, has everything you need, from glassware to extra towels, and Becky, knowing it was our honeymoon, prestocked our fridge with some chocolates and french champagne! I couldn't have asked for a better experience and for the price point it is probably the best rental I've ever booked. Cons (if there are any): definitely not big enough for more than two people, maybe two and a child. Because of how it's situated on the hill and in the house, not much natural light. We preferred this as we like sleeping in but it might be a con to others. Not a ton of restaurants or markets out in Days bay so do your shopping and whatnot before you get on the ferry, but don't worry, what's there (the lovely cafe in the park) is splendid and cheap! Overall a 5/5 across the board and if we ever can afford a flight back to NZ I know just where we:LL be staying."

The homes are joined but completely separate with separate access to both. This beautiful studio apartment is furnished for 2 people and possibly 1 infant. It is set on a lifestyle block and we have about 30 chickens running around.
There are stairs to the front door and then up to the studio.
There is a kitchenette, regretfully we don't offer a kitchen sink per se, but we have all the other little bits that one might need.
The bedroom is devided by a screen deviding the bedroom and the lounge area.
We have wifi available and a smart TV. You have your own access and plenty of places to park.
Unfortunately laundry facilities are not offered here.

Suitable for travellers including families, business guests and clients working nearby including Monday-Friday stays. This is a real home away from home in a good central location!

The apartment is accessed from street level up a short flight of stairs where you enter the open plan living/kitchen/dining space.
Attached is a separate bedroom which contains a comfortable queen sized bed. There is a large floor to ceiling sliding door which opens as a juliette balcony.
Off the bedroom is a bathroom containing a modern shower, sink and toilet.
The entire space is approx 31 square metres but comfortably accommodates two people while not feeling crowded.
Other things to note
The bedroom accommodates up to two guests in the queen bed.
Infants are able to stay (you will need to bring a travel cot and bedding).
In addition the sofa in the living room can accommodate a third guest or if separate beds are required.
There is no allocated parking however metered street parking is just outside (free outside of 9am - 5pm Mondat - Saturday) and there is a Wilson Paking Building very close by.

You have your own private entrance, separate from the main house. There is a small, well-equipped kitchen which has everything two people need to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay. Cook, eat, drink, repose, relax, read, chat, laugh and entertain, in between visiting the sights of Wellington and Wairarapa, and going to concerts.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, toaster, electric jug, dual cooktop (no oven) and clothes washing machine. You'll have wine and champagne glasses, plenty of cutlery and crockery, platters, pots, pans and dishes for the microwave.
There is a 42 inch plasma TV connected to FreeView, a DVD player and selection of movies; and WiFi for the Internet.
There is a king-sized bed, a small dressing room, two easy chairs by the TV, and a dining table where you can eat and also work on your laptop. The bathroom has a large vanity, the shower is over a full-sized bath and you have a separate toilet. The apartment has Infinity gas for hot water so you won't ever get a cold shower.

Two bedrooms - one queen, one double & an additional single bed set up in a window alcove in the dining space. The apartment has stair access. Onsite parking for one vehicle plus free street parking. Guests are welcome to chill out in the shared garden space and use the outdoor seating and bbq.
The space
The guest suite is the upper floor (loft conversion) of a Victorian Villa era family home. During your stay you'll have exclusive use of the upper floor, as well as the ground-floor entrance foyer and staircase.
Guest access
You can park your car right outside the front door. The ground floor entrance foyer has a staircase (22 steps) to the penthouse on the first floor. For your privacy we lock off the foyer from the rest of the ground floor. The foyer is also an excellent place to store bulky items like prams, surfboards, bikes etc.
Other things to note
Your hosts Jeanie & Terry live on the ground floor of the house. We're usually onsite to welcome you but if not please just make yourselves at home.
During your stay we will come & go via the garage rather than the front door entrance/foyer which will be for your use only. Feel free to pop down for a cup of tea/coffee and a chat. If you're interested in DIY and house renovations we're happy to show you around downstairs.
