- "Booked a D&J Properties reservation through Hotels.com for a trip in April. A few days before my stay, I received a message directly to me (not on Hotels.com) that the location is not available. After many texts, they sent me credit since the new location was inferior. They sent a screenshot of the reservation. I had no way to verify, access or confirm that reservation. Then I received an email that I need to provide my full address, full credit card information AND PHOTO OF ME HOLDING MY LICENSE BESIDE MY FACE. WHAT? Why would they need that? My address? When they know I am 4 hours away from it? My cc, when I was paid in full? A photo of me with my DL? Is that to charge that card thousands of dollars and provide the cc company proof of purchase because of the photo? When I texted “no way I am canceling”, a flurry of texts and calls came through (while I was at work) demanding that I need to speak with them over the phone. WHY? Is that to add recordings to whatever they needed my address, cc and photo? Yeah, I told them that if I didn’t receive a refund I would be writing negative reviews They threatened to retaliate if I left a review! This experience has been negative. The only way to turn this around was not pay for something I never got, duh. I’ve stayed at many bookings through Hotels.com, never needed to provide info off the app. Every charge goes through the site because they are safe and secure. The icing on the cake, the new location is up for sale everywhere."

A cute, cozy home with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one with a walk in shower. The family room has a sleeper sofa, if needed as well as a TV, cable and wifi. Minutes from downtown Inverness, shopping, restaurants, boat launch, parks and the Withlacoochie walk/ride trail. Perfect get away whether for a few days or a snow bird experience. Fully fenced back yard makes the home pet dog friendly; however we do request prior approval. No smoking or Vaping on the premises. No parties.
The space
This cozy little house is located in Inverness Highlands South and is conveniently just minutes from downtown, shopping, medical facilities, (Citrus Memorial Hospital, now known as HCA Florida Hospital is just a mile and a half away!),parks and boat launches as well as the Withlacoochie walk and ride trail! Salt water and the Gulf is an easy 45 minutes from here to Crystal River and the Fort Island Beach. Quick and easy access to Rte 75 and The Florida Turnpike for a day's adventure in Orlando, just 90 minutes away. Tampa, Clearwater and St Petersburg are also an easy 90 minute drive.
If you find you are on a working vacation, we have a dedicated work space with wifi for your convenience. The family room is equipped with a 65 inch TV with cable, as well as table and comfy chairs for games, cards or jigsaw puzzles.
The primary bedroom is equipped with a 32 inch smart tv with Roku.
There is a gas grill available for your use as well.
We do not charge a pet fee or cleaning fee. We do ask that you pick up after your pet, waste bags and container are provided on the back porch.
We ask that when preparing to check out that you leave the beds unmade.....you don't have to strip them and leave used towels and washcloths on the bathroom floor. If you have dirty dishes, just put them in dishwasher and start it and remove containers of food from the fridge and drop your garbage in the provided garbage can. Turn off lights and lock doors and close garage door upon leaving.

Guest access
As our guest, you have full access to the entire house, garage and fully fenced back yard. The living room, family room, and the bedrooms have ceiling fans for your comfort. In the garage is a dedicated laundry room with a convenient counter to fold clothes. The enclosed porch is the perfect place to watch the birds at the feeders while you have morning coffee or afternoon snack! The backyard offers a mature lime tree; the fruit is yours for the picking when in season!
Other things to note
The television in the family room has the Spectrum cable package that includes Spanish speaking stations.

For guests that might be traveling with a travel trailer or boat, the driveway is 50' long . Should you need more space we have free offsite parking in our concrete driveway at our personal residence, just 8 tenths of a mile from your stay. It is shown in the picture of the brown house.

Welcome to Airboat Territory. The Cove is the only restaurant on Lake Henderson available by boat. We get plenty of pleasure craft and airboats as customers. Airboats are fun to watch, but can be noisy.

Absolutely no smoking inside the cabin! Cabin is intended for the use of the reserved guest only. Guest staying on the property must be added to the reservation, including dogs. The use of this facility for parties, events or meetings is expressly prohibited unless pre-approved by the facilities manager.

We had seen this vrbo several times when we stopped in at The Cove for lunch or dinner. We thought the cabin was so cute. When we had a chance to get away we both said lets see if that cute little cabin is available. Yes it was. Check in was different in that we actually went to the hostess area in The Cove Restaurant, gave our name and a real person, Tee, who is quite cheerful and in the know came and took us literally across the parking lot to the Tin Roof Cabin. She showed us around and gave us the key. NOTE: We never heard any of the resturant traffic our entire stay and the place was packed, as usual. The cabin looks just like the pics in the listing, except even better in person as you see all the extra touches that went into making the cabin so charming. Everything was spotless clean and there were plenty of towels and toiletry items. There was as a Keurig with a nice variety of kcups, which was much appreciated. We had dinner in The Cove Resturant and the ladies at the hostess stand remembered us and greeted us by name. Both Tee and Annie came by where we were sitting, personally welcomed us again and called us by name. Everyone we interacted with made a point to put our name with our face and make all encounters personal. This was much appreciated and acknowledged as sincere, going that extra step that means everything Amazing weekend and we will stay in The Tin Roof again."

Outdoor amenities include cornhole boards, gas grill, lakeside firepit, screened porch, and outdoor shower.

You can kayak the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes and canals. Then you can bike 200 yards to the 50-mile paved Withlacoochie Trail and go north or south 25 miles.
Upon returning take a refreshing shower outdoors, cook dinner on the gas grill, play some cornhole, and watch the sun set on the screened back porch or at the firepit. All while overlooking the lake.

One can walk the half mile safe circle in the neighborhood or ride your bike on the Withlacoochee Trail only a half mile away. The trail is one of the finest in Florida. It has an excellent location close to down town Inverness with many fine restaurants to chose from. It is walking distance to the Inverness Depot where many events and activities are held. - "The home is 1.3 miles from the Withlacoochee rail trail. The Withlacoochee Trail is a 46 mile trail with Inverness in the middle of it. You can ride north to Dunnellon or south. If going south you take the Good Neighbor Trail south of Lake Townsend and go to Brooksville. There are trailheads approximately every 6-7 miles. There are reminders of the historic railroad activity which include concrete mileage markers to Richmond, VA and concrete whistle markers a quarter mile before crossings. The trail corridor provides various habitats including mixed hardwood forest, sandhill, and wetlands that are important for wildlife and native plants. The trail is well maintained. There are a variety of fruit trees on the property. this year's crop was weak, but there are many blossoms on the trees so next year might be better. We did get a few pieces of fruit during our stay. The home has a large screened in porch to observe the wildlife, watch activities on the lake, spend a warm afternoon, or enjoy your morning coffee. You will see wildlife in the backyard on a regular basis, and you can fish from the dock. Catch a fish for the blue heron and you will have a friend for life. Joanne, the proprietor, makes sure your stay will be effortless and carefree. We had no problems, but I'm sure she would have been very accommodating had a problem arose. The wi fi was running at 350+mbps for excellent streaming. Inverness has some traffic but it is nothing like the golf coast."
