BOATER INFORMATION: Boat safely and responsibly. Boating from Blue Chair Key is at your own risk. Cedar Key is shallow water until you reach the channels. Experienced boaters should study navigational charts and tides prior to boating in the area. We have two approaches from Bay access from the dock. The bay can be less than 2 feet deep at low tide.
The first bay access involves a bridge to the east that the State of Florida says is 6.5 feet high at mean high tide. In October, we have 5 feet of water at low tide at the dock and a clearance of +/- 6 feet at the bridge at high tide. Both vary greatly and you will need to judge the height on your approach.
The second bay access approach is via a tidal waterway to the west with a variety of depths depending on the tide. Check and know your height to the waterline, draft, tides and use your depth finder before navigating.

Seafoam Cottage vacation rental house is a two bedroom, two bath home on historic Second Street in Cedar Key, Florida. Seafoam was constructed in the 1880's and is rich in Cedar Key history. The new owners have remodeled, added on and refurnished it in a happy island style.

You'll find a comfortable living room with large sectional couch. Perfect for friends and family commiseration. WiFi is provided and we have a Smart TV without satellite. The house has central heat and air. The Master Bedroom has a comfortable Queen bed and the guest bedroom has bunk beds with a full size bed on the bottom and a and twin on top. Two bathrooms, the master has a tile shower and the guest bathroom has a clawfoot tub shower combo.

Kitchen is fully furnished and has dining for 4-6. The backsplash is a work of art in itself. It is a one of a kind handcrafted seaside themed creation of the owner. Everything is supplied here for cooking and dining.

The back yard is private and has a fire pit and wooden Adirondack chairs. It is beautifully planted with tropical plants.

The front porch is cool and comfortable and faces 2nd Street with a giant Live Oak tree nearby. Just two doors from Seafoam is Tony’s Seafood Restaurant and the coffee shop, The Daily Grind and 1842 Mercantile. You can almost smell the aroma of coffee brewing when you step onto the front porch in the morning.

There is a parking space off the street for one vehicle at Seafoam. Other parking is street side and is first come first served.

The small pier at Pelican Place is located on the water directly in front of the house. This dock is excellent for fishing.

Pelican Place house comes fully furnished and well equipped. It is clean and neat and goes above and beyond even the McCormick Management Co. standards. The Kitchen is stocked well with all one needs for cooking and serving and dining in. The bedrooms are tastefully done and all your linens are supplied. There is a King bed in the master bedroom and a king bed in the guest. There is a tv in the guest bedroom but not the master. Both bathrooms have walk in showers, single sinks and toilet.

The living room is spacious and comfortable with seating for six and a wide screen smart tv. The dining area is great for conversation and dinner and games.

The waterside deck is fantastic for catching the gulf breeze and the Florida sun. The front porch has two comfortable swings with springs and cushions

Fishing is abundant here whether it is fishing from a bridge or a pier on inshore fishing or off shore fishing there is no shortage of ways to catch fish. You can even fish from your back yard!.

Just 3 strolling blocks from the water and 2 from the delicious dining options of 2nd St, you won't need to drive unless you really want to. The famous Cedar Key Fishing Pier is less than a half mile and while you're out there check out the shops and restaurants on the water, the views at sunset can't be beat!

The Beach Shack has a beautifully open floor plan allowing for conversation between the living room, kitchen and dining areas.

The living room holds is a queen-sized pull-out couch and plush recliner for a total of 4-5 people to sit and chat or watch TV. With a fun and friendly beach vibe it's easy to feel at home here. Extra blankets and linens for the sofa bed are in the ottoman.

The kitchen is stocked with all the items you need to spend a weekend or a couple of months. Brand new stainless steel appliances include a built-in microwave, glass top electric stove/oven and large refrigerator with freezer on top. There's no shortage of updates here!!

A 2 person breakfast bar, along with a 4 person, round dining table, will give you more than enough seating for dining in.

The bedroom is just down the hall with a comfortable queen bed, large night stands, luggage racks and closet. The full ensuite has a single sink, toilet and tub shower combo.

There is a half bath in the hall.

Outside you will find a brand new deck enclosed by almost invisible screen. With comfortable seating for 4, this is great place to sit back and enjoy a cold beverage at the end of the day. Outback there is a gas grill and fire table, we provide the presto logs and ask that those are the only things burned.

Other amenities to note are a stacking washer and dryer, additional closet for storage, vacuum, standing fan, extra pillows and blankets, games, fee WiFi and ceiling fan.

Salt Life is a two-bedroom, one bath, waterfront townhome vacation rental in Cedar Key. Salt Life is just a short walk from the City park beach and all the restaurants and shops as well. Salt Life is as close to the Gulf as any lodging can get. The balcony doors open to the sound of gentle waves lapping on the rocks below. These calm waters will soothe your soul.

The entry leads up to the main level of the townhome. Here is the living, dining, kitchen great room with sliding glass doors opens onto the waterfront balcony. The kitchen is fully furnished for cooking. We have Cuisinart appliances and Keurig Coffee maker. We have a side by side refrigerator, dishwasher, electric range and oven, and even a George Forman grill. The living room is open to the Gulf breezes and the salty sea air and has a queen couch bed. The balcony is sunny and warm year round.

The top floor is home the the bedrooms and bath. The master bedroom with king size bed is waterfront with glass doors and private balcony overlooking the panoramic Gulf of Mexico. The guest bedroom has a queen bed. The Bathroom has a walk in shower with sliding glass doors.

Here at Salt Life you are blessed to actually witness the real "salt life". From your balconies you'll see a constant display of the Cedar Key watermen & women coming and going from the nearby clam leases. These hard working clam farmers make the trip to and from their leases directly in front of the townhomes. They harvest their clams daily. The wake created by these bird dog boats laps onto the rocks below.
The townhome has a very small rock and sand and shell beach next door where you can sit in the sand and launch your kayaks.
Please bring water shoes because you will probably want to explore on the rocks here at Salt Life. The sea wall and rocks are great places to see marine life up close at low tide.

The parking here is limited so keep this in mind when you plan your trip. We share with seven other units and everyone must have access. One car or truck is best and more than two vehicles is not advised. There is however adequate parking under your unit for golf carts.

Rose is on the second floor of the Lutterloh building which now also houses the new Main Street Mercantile. "Rose" is beautifully adorned with reclining Italian leather couches in the living room, a large kitchen with bar seating, two bedrooms each with king sized beds, an ensuite full bathroom, full hall bathroom, and laundry closet. The third hallway bathroom is located off of the sunroom. The Osprey Nest gets its name from one of Cedar Key's most famous resident birds. They build massive nests in many locations around town and you may be able to view one nesting close by the house. Osprey Nest is a completely updated and remodeled historic home dating back to the early nineteen hundreds. Years of history have accumulated here. During World War II the house was used temporarily as a barracks to house soldiers.There is a large fenced in backyard to keep your pets safe. A grill is provided for guest use. This is a pet friendly unit! Maximum of 1 dog under 20 pounds. Pet fee is $50 per pet per visit, 1 pet maximum. If you did not pay a pet fee on booking, please contact us immediately. - "An enjoyable 5-10 minute walk to town. Not a great view of the water from the house compared to many other houses you could rent, but the little back sunroom does offer a pleasant limited view of the water and has a nice dockside diner vibe... nice spot for coffee and breakfast. The house is spacious and has a great floorplan for 3 pairs of adults. Be aware that the wall dividing the master bedroom from the living room and kitchen area does not extend all the way up to the ceiling, so noise from the kitchen and living room is loud and clear in the master bedroom, and vice versa. Otherwise a great little property. All I wanted was a place that offered accessibility to town and was a comfortable place to stay between going out and about - this place exceeded my expectations."

- "This is a wonderful rental property. They did a great job of renovating the inside, very clean with a very nice open floor plan. 9.75 out of 10. The only thing missing was a ceiling fan on the enclosed porch and enclosed dock area. We went in late July and if the breeze is not kicking in, it's muggy and hot, to be expected. Not a big deal. Next time we will bring two 35" fans, one to plug in on the house porch and one for the dock. The screened in dock area did not have a receptacle on the inside, it may have had one on the outside, but I don't recall. We'll bring an EcoFlow with us to power a fan on the dock. Just a heads up for anyone who enjoys sitting outside. I've been renting properties in Cedar Key for 20 years at least once a year and this is one of them at he top of the list. We'll probably be coming back late summer/early fall and will be looking at this property first for availability. Great Job!"

This is a super unique and amazing place. The home is small and rustic with tons of character, and surrounded by nature. The kitchen and bath are nicely updated and the space is very comfortable overall. With 10 acres you have privacy, space and the ability to truly relax and enjoy nature. Whether you are coming out as a couple to have a romantic time gazing at the stars, a family to have a fun time running around and playing or a group of people having a great night around the fire, you will LOVE this place!!

Notes:

There are 3 cameras on the exterior of the home for security. The one facing the entrance of the property is on 100% of the time. The other 2 the guest has the option to unplug for privacy.

The unit has well water. It is safe to drink, but if you don`t want to drink it, the 5 gallon water bottle can be filled at the marathon on the island.

Guests are responsible for checking the fence if they intend on keeping an animal securely in that area.

Please only harvest the fruits, veggies and eggs that you will consume during your stay.

The owner of the property will be by a couple of times a week to water the garden and check on the chickens.

This property is located off Hwy 345 about 9 miles from Cedar Key. The home and outdoor areas are available for guest use. There are a couple of buildings on the property that are locked and not for guest use. The chicken coup is locked but eggs can be harvested from the boxes at the back of the coup.

Two night minimum.
Quiet second floor apartment in historic building on the island of Cedar Key. This apartment is smoke free and pet free. (Owner has extreme allergies.) It has a porch with a water view, one block from the Gulf, and is in the center of town. Not a stoplight in town. Cedar Key is a tiny fishing village full of artists, musicians, and people who like to fish. Lots of superb restaurants that feature world famous Cedar Key clams and fresh fish. Sunsets here are terrific!

The space
One parking space behind the building is allowed for guests. Street parking is also available. The available space for the guests include bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and porch. The porch is occasionally shared with the owner who lives in the studio in the upstairs front part of the building.
Two night minimum is required.

Guest access
The bedroom is private as is the bathroom. The full kitchen is exclusive to the guest (but has no oven). Coffee and tea is available, but you will be above the best coffee shop in town. The living room is for the use of the guest. Your privacy is respected. The living room has a desk under the window with the water view and this is where you’re to write your masterpiece (or in your journal).

The balcony is a shared quiet space for coffee, cocktails, or book reading. Shared only with me (but rarely) on really nice days, who also enjoys the water view.

Other things to note
It is second floor so be aware that there are stairs to climb. The beach and the main dock are strolling distance away. In fact walking around town and down to the Sand Spit to watch the sunset seems to be the activity people enjoy the most. There are two co-op art galleries as well as an upstairs art gallery which has new exhibits each month. Visitors find that Cedar Key is a very friendly town where everyone seems to naturally greet each other as they pass by.

The Place

We are situated in the historic district of Cedar Key, nestled among some of the oldest structures on the island. The two houses across the street were floated over from Atsena Otie Key in the late 1800s when its inhabitants abandoned that island. The main house on this property was built, in the 1920s we think, from lumber salvaged from the old dairy farm, which was located on the site now occupied by the state park. Like any coastal village, the neighborhood is quaint and quirky with a mix of "new blood" and residents whose families have lived on the island since the civil war.

Things to Do

Rent kayaks and bikes or bring your own. It is easy enough in Cedar Key to get out of your car and leave it parked until your stay is over. We recommend this course of action. Even the grocery, the Market at Cedar Key, is only two blocks away.

Take a sightseeing boat ride to Seahorse Key. You will be sure to see dolphins and may even spot a sea turtle or giant ray. In the evening, the white ibises stream out to one of the islands, brown pelicans dive for their dinner, and roseate spoonbills dig around in the shallows.

Charter a fishing guide.

Or just hang out on the patio and read a book. You don’t have to be productive in Cedar Key.

The Daisy House is a one bedroom and one bath home located downtown Cedar Key on famous First Street. You will be in the heart of it all at the Daisy House. Walk across the Dock Street Bridge to find at least six of Cedar Key's finest waterfront restaurants, gift shops, golf cart rentals and an art co-op store. Plus, here you'll visit and fish from the Big Dock Cedar Key Fishing Pier. All this is less than one minute walk from the Daisy House.

Daisy is on the first level of an elevated home and is a one bedroom one bath unit. The Daisy House is an elevated building with cement parking underneath connected to a covered stairway, convenient for rainy Florida downpours. This area is a shared space and there is room for a couple of cars here. You can exit by driving through the back but take care, it’s narrow and can be a little difficult to traverse. Access to home requires guests to climb a flight of exterior stairs, but once inside the home is single level.

Solimar is a bayside retreat perfect for kayaking, fishing and relaxing, just minutes from restaurants and shops.

This house is versatile and can accommodate whatever you and your loved ones are looking for in lodging. It is the perfect family and multi-family getaway fully stocked with plenty to keep everyone entertained. Kayak right from the backyard (2 kayaks included in rental) or fish right off either of the 2 docks on the property.

*Downstairs unit: The two levels are separated by exterior stairs so makes it perfect for multi-family use or let the big kids stay downstairs and let the parents enjoy the 180 degree views from upstairs. The downstairs rental sleeps a maximum of four guests with two bedrooms and one bath and offers a kitchenette and laundry room. Reserve either or both to meet your needs, just search for Solimar to see if the whole house is available. Both houses include wifi, cable TV, and are stocked with indoor and outdoor games, kayaks and bikes.

Exterior stairs split the house making it perfect for multi-family rental: 2 beds 1bath upstairs, 2 beds 1bath downstairs.
