Bus system only runs Mon-Fri. We were lucky that our cruise onshore support gave us a couple of lifts and a local neighbour. Well, Raven's Roost was even better than we expected! Katy was so kind in keeping us updated of our check in time and made check in super easy! The highlights of the home are the gorgeous views with sliding glass door you can open and listen to the ocean, even when it's raining (and be prepared, it can rain A LOT in Sitka). We had eagles roosting in the trees beside the balcony and loved hearing them "talking" to each other! We did see a couple of sea lion heads out in the water but with all the rain, we weren't able to stay out on the balcony to look for whales. But having left Texas with 110 degree weather, having to look through the sliding glass doors at rain and 54 degrees was heaven! We loved having a washer and dryer; loved that there were 2 separate bedroom and bathroom areas. Be aware that the secondary bedroom upstairs is a loft with steep stairs (we were aware before hand and it was not a problem!). The kitchen was extremely well stocked - even with items like flour, sugar, coffee, oatmeal, spices. And the refrigerator had a great assortment of condiments. We cooked almost all meals (3 meals a day for 3 days) and it was fabulous. There is a propane grill on the balcony. There isn't a dishwasher but that wasn't a problem either. Actually I can't even think of a problem the entire time we were there!"

The Hemlock House is a newly remodeled home with beautiful views overlooking Swan Lake with the pristine Sister's Mountains in the background. Eagles are abundant during summer months and on occasion you may spot deer roaming in our yard, or get to see whales out front.
Studio is a spacious, 1,275 sq. ft. space with a private entry. You will find a large, open floor plan with a well-equipped kitchen, full bathroom (we have a shower-no bath) and sleeping area.
For those who enjoy the outdoors we have a nice outdoor space for you to enjoy. This includes table & chairs if you want to sit out. * There is a queen, double, & sofa sleeper for beds. I’d say 3 sleep comfortably if two are doubling up on the queen bed. There is a daily fee of $25.00 for each additional guest over 2. We provide most all the comforts of home inside this cozy space. *Cleaning fee of $200.00 will be charged IF rental is left a mess.
**Please note: Since this studio is a downstairs rental you will hear noise from above as it is our living space, mostly during the day. We have dogs so you will hear them move about or occasional barking alerting us that someone is coming or going.
Although we love kids our rental is not suited for small children, older children who can follow inside rules as far as noise, breakables and such are welcome but this is not a child proof rental.
We have TV but it is not cable, we use internet TV You Tube TV which has plenty of channels to enjoy. If you have a Netflix password you can use that here as well.

We enjoyed sitting outdoors having coffee in a comfy living area. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. There was plenty of room for six adults. The location was perfect for shuttling to various locations. You do get plane traffic due to the proximity to the airport. We were not bothered by it. My suggestion would be a few instructions fir using the fireplaces and for the front doir. we struggled with the smart key pad. I would absolutely stay here again."

The spacious open kitchen has a large island that family and friends can gather around to spend quality time together. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the essentials to prepare your feast, and we get you started with basic seasonings, tea and coffee.
The dining area has seating for 8 guests and the panoramic views out the windows are spectacular as you prepare and dine on your meals.

There are two comfortable seating options for visiting and relaxing. The tv viewing area has a large smart tv for downloading your streaming service, and an incredibly comfortable sectional for spreading out and watching your favorite tv show or movie with the ambiance of an electric fireplace. The sitting/game area overlooks the expansive deck and pristine front row seat to watch the fishing boats, look for whales, sea lions and eagles and just be mesmerized by the ocean.

The Sitka Bungalow is a clean, newer, unique, craftsman style home designed and built by us! It is conveniently located in beautiful downtown Sitka.

Our Bungalow is a cozy two bedroom home with solid oak floors, in-floor heating, an open living room, a large kitchen, and a dining area. The feel of the space has a clean and classic style. You'll find everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It's the perfect Sitka getaway for a couple, family, or group of friends.

The space:
There are two cozy bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twins. We also have a sofa bed in the living room that can sleep 2 people. We have a nice outdoor area with chairs and an open pit fire. You can do laundry in your own washer and dryer. There is a nice tub in the bathroom to soak in after your Sitka adventures. High speed internet is included.

Guest access:
This is a second floor unit, with a spacious first floor entry. The first floor woodshop (with its own entrance opposite of your private entrance) is not accessible to guests. We occasionally use the shop for custom cabinet work between the hours of 9am-5:30pm. However, we're happy to stop if you find it disrupting in any way. We provide a phone number you can text in that event.

Other things to note:
Our place is in a quiet downtown neighborhood. We respect our neighbors and want to keep them happy. We ask that you keep noise down, especially after 10pm. We cannot host guests that are planning to throw loud parties. Thank you for your understanding.

Enjoy the comforts of home, more privacy than a hotel, at half the cost of hotels in Sitka! This is a cozy child friendly studio apartment, located near town. There is a full kitchen in the apartment, as well as a comfortably proportioned bathroom. We offer extra items you may need in a lending room that is located in the shared onsite laundry room. You may borrow and return items before your departure. Items include beach towels and blankets, cooler, bikes, carseat, high chair, etc.
