The Neighborhood:
Klondike Cottage is located on a cul-de-sac with a mix of mobile and stick-built homes. There are basketball courts, tennis courts, and a nice playground and park area at the end of the cul-de-sac, perfect for families!

The Space:
Our 3 bedroom/2 bath home sleeps 5 (+) people. Available for your use is a pack n play and two 6" tri-fold mattresses; twin and queen, with platform frames. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to make simple or gourmet meals. Klondike Cottage also has a large chest freezer available for guests to store their catches from Prince William Sound! Like virtually all homes in Alaska, we do not have A/C, however, we have provided fans for guests to use, and may provide additional fans upon guest request.

Our home is a brand new construction built in 2018 in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of town. Although, we are not located in town, we are just minutes away by car or bike! Access to beautiful trails, for hiking and cross country skiing, that lead to Shoup Bay and Mineral Creek. Our home is about a mile from the shoreline but nestled closely to the mountainside.

The three bedrooms and two and half bathrooms are fully stocked with linens, bedding, toiletries and laundry care. In addition to three queen sized beds, we have two pull out couches for extra sleeping accommodations in the living room and den. We also have cots for extra sleeping arrangements if necessary. In the garage we have a weight machine if you do not want to miss a workout away from home, plus a basketball game for the kids to enjoy! All brand new furniture for our new home, as well as playpen and high chair for the littles tagging along!

Owner lives in the neighborhood and will be available if needed, however, will let you have a comfortable stay in privacy.

This home is great for families, business travelers, groups, and even couples.

Valdez is known for its outside beauty, but we also have many parks (one small one in the neighborhood), grocery store, museums, rock wall, pool, shops, restaurants, as well as so many tourist activities (fishing, kayaking, glacier viewing, snow machining, heli-skiing, 4 wheeler riding) for everyone!

Thompson House is historic, quirky, unique and comfortable. It survived the 1964 9.2 earthquake and tsunami that caused Old Valdez to relocate to the new and present town site. An addition more than doubled the size of the original one room cabin which included an extensive remodel.

The house sleeps 6. There are three bedrooms and a half bath upstairs, the master with a queen bed, the second with three twins, and a twin in the tower recommended for anyone over the age of 12. There are no doors separating each space. There are two futons available downstairs if needed to sleep more than six. The full bath and sauna are steps apart on the main floor.
Newly refurbished, Thompson House offers Wi fi, TV, blue ray player, new kitchen appliances, microwave, washer, dryer, freezer, on demand water heater and Toyo heater. No need to chop and haul wood! There is off street parking in front of the house.

Centrally located, it is only steps to one of the two grocery stores in town, a few blocks to the harbor, a bank and ATM, restaurants, museums, art shops, gift shops, harbor drive, beaches, ponds and down town. At the end of the Bremner St, where the house sits, you'll find a park strip with the Buccaneer Pirate Ship playground. The college is the home to the Maxine Whitney Museum and just behind it is another playground called the Treehouse park. Valdez is a small and very cute town. You'll find the locals to be friendly, kind and helpful.
Choose from the many fishing guides and out fitters, kayak rentals, excursions to the glaciers, and extensive wild life on land and in the sea. The beauty of the mountains surrounds the town with waterfalls everywhere.

It was perfect for our first experience in Valdez. On the practical side, you are across the street from the grocery store and a healthy walk down to the water front. I'm 67, and you need good knees to get up the stairs. I did fine, but your downstairs option is a futon. The upstairs bed is very comfortable. The sauna was a treat. We'd never used a private one and now consider it a plus in a rental. Be careful of the top door lock on the outside. The house was a good match for the two of us. Enjoy."

Each of our bedrooms have a queen bed, twin bed, and a private bathroom in them, each with its own wildlife theme. The reservation includes a complimentary continental breakfast and a place to store food in the kitchen, a living room with a massage chair, and free laundry room use. Each of the rooms has its own hi-def. TV with cable, free Wi-Fi, and free toiletries.

The space
I think the thing people enjoy most is that in the center of our four B & B bedrooms there is a dining room where everyone can sit around and enjoy getting to know the other guests while eating breakfast or having tea or hot chocolate in the the evening after the day's exciting activities. The other area that people extremely enjoy is our massage chair in the living room. Sometimes people just rotate in the evening, sitting around in the evening letting everyone get a chance to enjoy a nice massage. Another added bonus is that the laundry facilities are free to use from 8 am to 10 pm. Since people often need to get up early to go on kayaking trips or to leave on the ferry, we have a continental breakfast available early in the morning so that no one will miss out on breakfast. And since some people get in late and need to get caught up on sleep you can have breakfast as late as 11 am.

The common areas include a kitchenette, a dining room with a small library and games, a living room with a couch, arm chair and a massage chair, and free laundry room use.

During your stay
Check in is from 3 pm until 10 pm unless you call ahead and make other arrangements. Please call me to find out your room name and door code if you will be arriving after 10:30 pm. I am available to help you find out about local restaurants, local tour opportunities or local hikes when you check in or anytime from 8 am to 10 pm.

Other things to note
If you have questions about things to do in Valdez, I'm ready to help you out with that. Also, if you want to use the massage chair it is better to learn how to use it when you check in so that you can learn how to get out of the chair in the starting position without having to climb out.

Located between Valdez and Thompson pass, this little "mini" offers everything you need to be comfortable on your stay. A short 13 mile drive from Valdez will have you nestled in the woods where you will enjoy peace and serenity. Newly renovated Studio-Style BnB offers a private bathroom, and a "mostly" full kitchen. (There is no range/oven, but there is a toaster, Air-Fryer, microwave, and hot-plate for all your cooking needs!) This unit is upstairs with about 12 steps to the top.

Small camper nestled in a quite area downtown and only a block from the small boat harbor, and the local food scene. Walkable to everything. Laundry facilities are located at the gas station and harbor master building. Fish cleaning station is by the harbor master building as well.

The camper table does turn into a bed but I do not provide bedding for it. Lawn chairs are located inside under the bench seat.

Street parking is available. Please do not park on the LULU Bell property.

This is a downstairs apartment of a duplex just a few minutes away from Keystone Canyon hiking trails, and a 20 minute drive into downtown Valdez. Perfect for families or couples traveling together. It is a working house and as fishing charters are the main summer business, there will be fishing/ lure etc creations going on in the back half of the downstairs lounge, please don’t go back there for your safety.

Couple have an old dog, a sweetie, but she will bark a warning to people when they arrive.

Many dogs in neighborhood, as dogs are allowed, if bringing a dog you will need to manage its behavior.

The Northern Lights room is located on Northeast corner of our home and is 1 of 2 bedrooms on the upper floor and provides the best views of the surrounding mountains. We have plenty of off-street parking including 2 parking spots over 40 foot long for large motorhomes or truck and trailer combinations. The house is at the end of Chena street in a cul de sac designed for snow removal in the winter and limits street traffic and provides an open spacious location.

Great space for couples with older children, solo adventurers or couples . Conveniently located 4 miles from downtown Valdez, near the bike path and 1 mile away from the historic Old Town Beach. The Loft House is located on 3 acres of property shared with our home, mini farm (including chickens) and our storage business which is great for providing assistance with anything our guests might need.

The space
Our Loft House provides 247 SF of space on the main floor, 81 sf of sleeping LOFT space and 110 sf of covered deck plus the use of a small yard with extra seating and a fire pit. While inside our guests will find a small kitchen area with everything needed to make a morning coffee or a meal. There is a queen size bed and small storage space in the bedroom. A set of stairs will take our guests to a sleeping loft with another queen size mattress. The place is small and best suited two adults with or without children. Not recommended for 4 adults.

The space
The Shabbin Playhouse is a tiny home which sets back in the Alpine forest with big spruce trees surrounding the area. The porch is a nice place to sit on the cozy couch, Look at stars or sometimes the Aurora Borealis, listen to the sounds of the glacier feed creek flowing by or in spring the squawking of Eagles returning and the trumpeting sounds of the beautiful Trumpeter Swans. See some Mallard Ducks resting in the pond ~ early summer around the Middle of May - End of July watch the hummingbirds, swallow tails and some bats flying around along with occasional... Deer.. Moose...Black bear....Brown bear....Mountain goats...Coyotes...Links...Porcupines..Spruce hens.. Ermines...Hawks...Rabbits..Shrews...Mosquitoes... In the midst of summer listen to Owls hooting at dusk and into early night. Stellar Blue Jays, Camp robbers ( the bird) and Magpies pass on by. In the fall and right into winter listening to all the sounds of the Eagles and watching them fly right in front or overhead of you is pretty awesome! 100's of Eagles following the salmon up the Lowe river valley perched amongst the trees.

Inside the Shabbin is a small comfortable space that offers all amenities needed. Open the window listen to the creek. There is a small TV with a provided HDMI cable if you have a device to use. The kitchen area allows for making any meal. Salt, pepper and paper towels are provided. Ice cube trays in freezer. There is counter space for eating with two stools to sit on. The countertop is on hinges so it slides about 6" back and forth. The stone & tile shower is refreshing after traveling and being out doors. Face cloths with shower and hand towels provided. There is a Toilet with toilet paper supplied. Shelving with baskets for clothing or smaller gear bags. The bed is comfortable covered with clean linens and pillows. There is some storage space under the bed in 2 storage totes that rollout/extra linens.Relax while reading from a collection of mostly Alaska books (Please don't take books off property) or playing cards, Cribbage, Yatzy or Jenga.

It’s Alaska and you should expect mosquitos. There is a tennis mosquito zapper to use. Please use it in side if needed v.s. smearing them on the walls or ceiling ;-) if they come in the door with you.

Out side there is room to park a snow machine, boat or travel trailer. Please let me know in advance (no fee).
If you are traveling in a group with a RV there's room to park and use that too for an additional fee. Please let me know your plan in advance by texting me for details.
If you are traveling in a group with a few tenters there's room to set up tents for an additional fee. Please let me know your plan in advance by texting me for details. $20 per additional guest a night.

There's a fire pit and a gas grill available to use(not winter). You can purchase some fire wood in town for about $5 a bundle or use firewood provided or possible to collect sticks on the ground or bring your own. Please be respectful don't cut trees down. The fire pit is a cement ring, keep fire with in ring, no huge bonfires , no loud music and inviting other groups to the property. It is a good idea to notify in advance by text if you are planning a fire.

The Shabbin is cute and You should expect it to be small. As you can see in pictures the shower door is clear and no door for the toilet. There is a curtain folded above if needed in the basket. The idea is to get outside. Explore The Chugach, Valdez - Go in the Mountains to Shred some Pow turns, Heli boarding, Skinning, Cross Country Skiing (Valdez has great groomed trails) Snow shoeing, Snow machining, Snow or water Kiting, Tundra Hike or Bike. Go deeper into the Old growth Alpine Forest its absolutely amazing. There are Great trails all over the Valdez area. (search= Valdez, Alaska hiking trails)

Take out a Pack raft, SUP, Kayak in the sound, Robe Lake, Solomon Gulch and watch some wild life and experts can get the adrenaline going in the river's.GoTake a Heilcopter sight seeing tour.
Go catch fish on your boat or charter a boat from one of many operators Valdez has to offer. The fish hatchery is a great place to learn the history and how the salmon leave and return to these waters. While there it's possible to see Sea Lions, Harbor seals, Otters, Puffins, Eagles, Bears, Salmon and occasionally a Whale. Go visit the old town site and the Museums. Get out side & Play!

Furry Friends & Animal lovers, I like them too, however it is very hard to clean and remove the animal fur and smell from a home. I don't mind dogs if you can be ok with them staying out side. If you really need them in the home we will need to discuse additional cleaning fees. Message me for details.

This rustic and cozy cabin is located approx 19 miles north of Valdez on the Richardson Highway at the base of Thompson Pass. The accommodation offers world class access to “The Snow Capitol of Alaska”. Allwheel/4x4 is mandatory for winter access. The roads/driveway are maintained but I would still recommend 4x4/Allwheel. In summer (may-oct) the access is a gravel road that any car/truck can drive.

The location is one of the highlights of this listing as well as the privacy.

The space
This uniquely built vertical log mountain cabin was built to support a backcountry ski touring business and provide lodging. Guests from all around the world travel here each winter season to experience the “Snow Capitol of Alaska”. It’s located on 2.7 acres next to the Lowe River in the Heiden View Subdivision just past the Valdez city limits.

The cabin has a main floor and a double loft. There is a full size bed on the big loft and a twin bed on the smaller loft. Both lofts are accessed by a ship-ladder type stairs that are steep for some so be sure climbing stairs is in your ability. There is a huge couch someone can crash on too. It will sleep 4 pretty comfortably if a couple utilizes the full sized bed. Pets are welcome, there is even a doggy bed!

You will have full access to the entire cabin, there is parking in front of the cabin. You can utilize the meadow in back of the cabin and access state lands from the property.

Other things to note
In the winter months an all wheel drive vehicle is almost necessary although you can walk, ski, snowmobile into the property via the plowed .25 mile access. There is a moderate hill that requires all wheel drive to get up when weather conditions make it icy or fresh fallen snow. The road is plowed and maintained year round.

Our 5 bedroom home sits along the city park strip with walking paths to local shopping, museums, restaurants, and Visitor Center. We also offer catering, ocean boat tours & small rental boat options.

The space
The Denali master suite has amazing 360 degrees views, the East facing foyer has beautiful morning sunshine and is a great place to enjoy coffee and start your day. In the evening the Southwest windows provide incredible sunsets in very late evening during the summer months. We are located in the center of Valdez on the municipal green belt, our home is located at the end of Chena street in a cul de sac engineered for winter snow removal. This purpose built design limits the local traffic and creates an open and spacious front yard complimenting the cover patio and adjacent fire pit area. We have plenty of off street parking including two spots over 40' for large motorhomes or truck and trailer combinations.

Our guests have use of the well-equipped kitchen including stove, refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, and outdoor BBQ. We also provide use of pots and pans, dishes, glassware and silverware, plus we include basic seasonings for your convenience. Groups and families enjoy the large open family room and dining area to enjoy their meals.
The laundry room is also available for guest use.

During your stay
I often interact with clients but respect all guests privacy, I'm easy to contact as necessary. Many clients enjoy our day trips and overnight charter boat service or the small boat day rentals. Catering - The local restaurants are very busy in the summer and can be challenging to get in and out of , we encourage guests to use our cooking facilities themselves here at the house but after a long day many guests choose to have their meals prepared. Fresh fish meals in Valdez are rarely available so we highlight this option whenever we can.
I have 20 years cooking experience and have an extensive menu range, meals are served prix fix and feature local fare as much as possible. We offer meals for up to 10 guests at the house and lunch or dinner cruises aboard our boat M/Y Denali for up to six clients.
Seafood entree specilties include, parmasan crusted halibut, Alaskan king crab, copper River Red baked Salmon, Sauteed Prince William Sound spotted Shrimp, and Rock fish tacos. We also offer filet mignon with bearnaise or mushroom sauce, guaranteed cooked to order.

All meals include appetizers, side dishes, and desert.

Our appetizers include warm artichoke heart crab dip, peel and eat Shrimp, stuffed mushroom, bruschetta, or BBQ flat bread margarita pizza.

Desert specialties include creme brulee, baked Alaska, Local rhubarb cake ala mode or chocolate chip pazookies.

Side and vegetable dishes are included subject to seasonal availability.


M/Y Denali - 42ft Tri Cabin Trawler

Well appointed Tri Cabin Trawler live-aboard vessel, with three staterooms, 2 bathrooms, large salon and galley and covered flybridge. 1 – 4 nights excursions into Prince William Sound. Wake up to serene views while hot coffee brews in one of the many secluded anchorages. We provide fresh, delicious meals served family style on all trips. Catch of the day or fresh shrimp pulled daily from the icy cold waters. Enjoy kayaking with a local guide, gliding through the protected waters, a new location and adventure each day. Thompson House is historic, quirky, unique and comfortable. It survived the 1964 9.2 earthquake and tsunami that caused Old Valdez to relocate to the new and present town site. An addition more than doubled the size of the original one room cabin which included an extensive remodel.

The space
The house sleeps 6. There are three bedrooms and a half bath upstairs, the master with a queen bed, the second with three twins, and a twin in the tower recommended for anyone over the age of 12. There is a queen futon available downstairs if required. This house does not offer private “close door” bedrooms. The full bath and sauna are steps apart on the main floor.
Newly refurbished, Thompson House offers Wi fi, TV, blue ray player, new kitchen appliances, microwave, washer, dryer, freezer, on demand water heater and Toyo heater. No need to chop and haul wood! There is off street parking in front of the house.
