Come and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing and quiet stay at our little lakeside oasis. Our guest house is situated on a smaller, non-motorized lake, about 15 minutes North of Wasilla. We have 35 acres of land and enjoy the lake with only two other households, a rarity this close to town!

The guest house is fully equipped for your long or short term stay, just bring your luggage. The guest house features blue mountain pine T&G vaulted ceilings, fully equipped kitchen; second floor deck with gas grill; bedroom has a comfy king sized bed, walk-in closet; full size bathroom and washer & dryer. Feel at home in this private downstairs apartment in a rural subdivision centrally located between Wasilla and Palmer. The property is near Hatcher Pass, Government Peak Recreation Area, and Skeetawk Ski Area. Only minutes away from cross-country and downhill skiing. You will be within walking distance to the Little Susitna River as well as a local favorite fishing lake. The home is a great launching point for your next hiking, skiing, hunting, fishing or sight-seeing adventure.
The space
This space is a 2-bedroom 1 bath downstairs apartment with a full kitchen stocked with pots, pans and assorted cookware. Many other small appliances and specialty cookware are available on request (stand mixer, slow cooker, air fryer etc.).
Enjoy a fully stocked coffee bar with a K-Cup and Carafe coffee maker, local artisan coffee, various teas, hot cocoa and assorted varieties of K- Cups.
The interior is decorated with locally made arts and crafts. The workspace features a beautiful live edge work desk and comfortable chair. Many interesting books about Alaska and local authors’ stories are on the bookshelf along with hiking information and children’s books. A 55-inch smart TV with access to your favorite streaming channels is in the living area where you will also find a leather sleeper sofa with an additional mattress available to make it more comfortable along with sheets, blankets and pillows provided upon request.
The first bedroom contains a Queen bed with a memory foam mattress, large closet, luggage rack, nightstand, blackout shades, a comfortable reading chair and a sound machine. In Bedroom two a King Bed is provided with a 32-inch Smart TV with full motion wall mount, large dresser, blackout shades, roomy closet, luggage rack, reading lamp and a sound machine.

The bathroom has a shower & tub combo with an on-demand water heater. You will find towels, body soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap.

A new stacked washer/dryer combo is available in the boiler room beside the bathroom. Some laundry detergents, fabric softeners and a laundry basket are provided.
You will have full control of “your heating zone” We will make sure it is warm in the Winter months upon your arrival.
Guest access:
The apartment has its own entrance and parking. The first entrance on the northwest corner is the access to the apartment. There are four steps down from the outside entrance. Beyond the guest entrance outside is my family’s stair entrance to our space upstairs.
Other things to note:
Due to the natural surroundings of our property, it is possible that wildlife, bugs and insects may be present outside. We strive to maintain a comfortable environment, but we cannot eliminate the presence of wildlife in such a nature-rich area. Thank you for your understanding and enjoy your stay close to nature!
You will hear us above you from time to time while walking, watching TV or maybe our loveable Yellow Labrador "Josie" sauntering across the floor. We home school our two boys during the day and are mostly just doing our work and relatively quiet. In the winter we perform all the snow removal with a plow and snowblower so you may see us working to keep the space clear.
We provide a cold and hot water dispenser for your use. Please be aware the hot water dispenser is very hot. There are built-in safety measures on the unit to avoid accidental burns.
We are on a well and septic tank, so please help us care of our system by not flushing anything but toilet paper in the toilet.
In the event of any type of power failure we run a generator while repairs are being made. This rarely happens and power is usually restored quickly. The generator does not provide full lighting or appliance use capability. It will however keep the wi-fi, water, and heat going. The main breaker box is in the apartment space and if in the event access is needed, we will contact you for permission to enter and resolve the problem.

We are one of the few with a PAVED DRIVEWAY! (Another rarity in Alaska.) There are a few rock steps that lead from the paved driveway to the paved walkway … directly to the private entrance of The Wolf’s Den. A hi-tech Wi-Fi lock and keypad allow access to the Executive Suite with a custom code sent prior to check-in.

Parking spaces are available directly in front of the walkway. We have lots of room for parking.

The Wolf’s Den is completely separate from the upper levels of the house. The main den, office area, dining area, kitchenette, bedroom, and bathroom are all private!

A very nice front-loading washer and dryer set on the same level are available for use upon request. Just ask!

It's impeccably maintained, new and clean and everything you will want or need for a relaxing vacation. The lakeview is stunning. You can walk right out to the lake from the private entrance. It was the most relaxing experience. It also has such great details- the most comfortable bed in the main bedroom you could ever sleep on and a "kids cave" area and so much more. I do love how convenient it is off the main highway but also so quiet and tucked away on a beautiful lake. Every possible amenity was thought of. If you are looking for a vacation, an escape to a lake house in Alaska, this is definitely the place. What amazing hosts and what an amazing find. If I could give more than 5 stars, I certainly would. My kids loved exploring outside and the "kids" cave area. I loved having a cup of coffee with my husband while overlooking the lake. This is such a great find! Also, a great place to stay while exploring the Matsu Valley, Talkeetna, and to Denali. Highly recommend."

Conveniently located minutes from the center of Wasilla, while situated on a peaceful acre-lot on a quiet road overlooking a most spectacular, panoramic view of the Chugach mountain range.
The apartment is nestled around the back of a home on the side of the garage. Only a small part of the upstairs apartment overlaps this apartment, making it a very quiet space. The living space is on the first floor, with one step up and one step down for entry.
The inviting electric fireplace provides extra warmth or just extra ambiance for our many Alaskan nights. The blackout curtains help to get a good night's sleep with the summer's midnight sun.

Kayaks, a peddle boat, a canoe, fishing poles, water toys and a dock are provided for your enjoyment. Snow shoes and sleds are provided in the winter and are a great way to explore the trails on the large property—or use to enjoy adventures around the area.

You may use the TV in the living room (6 feet from your door) and the kitchen, deck, laundry… make yourself at home!

The space
We have an acre of space around the house, so fee free to roam (watch for wild rose thorns!) or just sit on the back deck to have your coffee, cocktails or dinner. Listen to the birds, listen to the wind in the birch trees and watch the cotton falling from the cottonwoods! We have a fire pit (to burn paper trash) and usually have some wood. It’s not the most picturesque fire pit, but you are welcome to use it if you’d like. We can tell you which wood is seasoned for you to use (or more is sold at a store a mile away) .

We do have a coffee maker and you are fee to use it as you wish.

We are happy to provide you with things to munch on, if you don’t mind sharing with the family, as sometimes coming into town late at night after stores close can be tricky! There are kids in the house part time, so if a partially eaten bag of chips is your thing, you’ll be delighted to find several! ;) We usually have bars, nuts, and fruit here and there and you are welcome to help yourself. You can also dig into the pantry and certainly use things like oatmeal, rice, spices, oils, condiments, and that sort of thing. Maybe don’t break into the Alaska King Crab in the freezer or our supply of salmon for the year, though…. Courtesy and common sense is the key.

As mentioned before, the TV, kitchen, laundry and etc are all available to use.

We do have a friend (our property manager when we aren’t in town) living in a different part of the house, so you won’t see him much. He may occasionally use the bathroom near your room, but usually uses the master. If you have something to do at a certain time just pass along that info so he will know to make sure you can get ready in time.

During your stay
We love stories of your travels and love hearing your plans for your stay in Alaska, so do share if you’d like. We can give you suggestions on where to go and what to do based on your current “bucket list”. We play guitar and sing and occasionally do all of the above when the mood strikes if you’d like to join us, that’s great too! (We promise not to let the mood strike while you are sleeping!)

Take a break and unwind at our cozy home with an acre to roam. This room has an incredibly comfy full-sized memory foam bed, closet, nightstands, lamps, and bathroom towels and toiletries. We also provide robes of various sizes as this listing shares a bathroom with another listing. Usually the bathroom will also be shared by 1 family members as well. (The bathroom is 4 steps from this bedroom.) Look for our “Purple Room” and/or also the “Whole Wing” if you’d like to not share the bathroom.

The space
We have an acre surrounding the house and frequently get moose visitors and a myriad of birds and other critters. There is a nice clearing around the house so you have a good view of the sky for stargazing during fall-spring. The back deck has a table and patio chairs and is a quiet place to listen to the birds.

Guest access
You are welcome to stay private in your room or roam around freely… Use the TV in the living room! Have dinner on the back deck! Do a load of laundry! It’s your space to use as you’d like. Please respect that there might be other guests or the hosts also staying there.

During your stay
Usually Matthew will be in and out as he works as a driver for Uber and Lyft. Stacey is only there occasionally. A friend of ours is the property manager when we aren’t in town and he also lives here (in a different part of the house) and everyone shares the kitchen. We have guitars and if you’d like to play, let us know! You are welcome to use the TV in the living room as you wish, and we have most streaming services already hooked up.

Cabin in the woods in the heart of Wasilla. This cabin is located on our beautiful 3-acre property with its own private driveway. It has electricity, heat, and an RV-style water system. The neighborhood is quiet and down-town Wasilla is only a mile away and connected by sidewalks or bike trails. Venture to Hatcher's pass for picturesque hikes or to the Iditarod headquarters to mush with the huskies. There are many lakes nearby, fine cuisine, parks and other entertainment.

Other things to note
We often have moose in the area. They are generally spooked easily, but they will charge if they feel threatened (especially a mama with her calves). Please enjoy them from a safe distance and don’t attempt to feed them.

This is a small, cozy cabin on the end of Bruce Lake in Wasilla. It's a great place to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. You get views of the mountains and a perfect, secluded retreat that's close in, easy to access and comes with all the basic amenities. It is a bit rustic and has a limited water supply with a 200 gallon cistern filled weekly.

The space
The main floor features a small living area, open kitchen/dining area that looks out on Bruce Lake. There is a deck off the dining room where you can sit and enjoy the view and abundance of wildlife. A walkway to the lake gives you easy access and a dock and bench to enjoy the park-like setting. Please be water-safe and wear a life preserver around water.

Guest access
Guests enjoy the entire cabin. The owner has several outbuildings and an unfinished garage on the property which are not accessible to guests.

Other things to note
The most important thing guests must be aware of is the limited water supply. Guests will have a full 200 gallon tank at the start of their stay which will be refilled weekly. Think 'Alaskan Cabin' with limited water and only the basics. If you are looking for a quiet, camping like experience, you will love U Rock Manor at Bruce Lake.

Cabin style stay with 2 bedrooms 1 full bath. 1 queen size bed 2 twins that make into a king. Full kitchen, coffee pot with coffee, every basic need to cook.
5 minutes from downtown Wasilla. Close to Iditarod headquarters, Selters Bay Golf course, 30 minutes to Hatchers Pass, 1 hour to Talketna, fishing, hiking, breweries, mountains and much more.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located place. Close to downtown Wasilla and only minutes away from restaurants. Take a 30 min drive to the top of Hatcher’s Pass and visit the Independence Mine and take a scenic drive over to Willow. Take a 1 hr drive to Talkeetna. Or go the opposite direction 1.5 hrs to Matanuska Glacier and take a guided tour out on the glacier!

The space
This unit is a smaller studio attached to our main home. There is a queen size Murphy bed that can be put up if you’d like more space during the day. There is a loveseat couch with a twin pull out bed, best suited for children or smaller adults. Small kitchenette with a small fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, toaster oven (available upon request) and Keurig coffee maker.

Coffee, tea, and breakfast snacks included

There is also a TV with a Roku. If you log in to any of your personal streaming apps don’t forget to log out when you leave! We have Netflix and Hulu for you to use, just please make sure you use the Airbnb profile, not ours. Thanks!

Guest access
The entrance is up the stairs on the right side of the house/garage. There are two parking spaces off to the side in the trees, look for the sign. Please do not park in front of the stairs to the Airbnb, right next to it, or in front of the gate to the backyard.

Other things to note
We have a very friendly dog you may run in to in the front yard at times if we are taking her out. She loves to say hi and runs right up to new people for pets. You may also see her through the gate and she would love it if you said hi to her. Her name is Shyla.

Please make sure to turn off interior lights when you are not present and when you check out.

If you have small children please be mindful that the heater can be hot to the touch when running so keep a close eye on your little ones when near it.
