Walking distance from town, museums shopping and restaurants. Good viewing for birds, sea lions and the occasional Killer Whale Pod. Lovely sunrises over the ocean, but remember this is the land of the midnight sun! Bring a sleep mask if overly light sensitive. Recommended to bring warm clothes even in summer. Lightweight rain gear is a good thing to include in your pack.
Children are welcome. Our home is on a park strip that offers plenty of room for kids to run and play. Within walking distance of public pool, High School and the bridge to Near Island.

A spacious, sunny ocean view home, facing the channel. Located in a small neighborhood (with the ocean on one side and trees and city park on the other) our property overlooks the entrance to channel and nearby islands, and Pearson Cove. The Kodiak Boatyard is across the street and is typically busy in May and September when commercial fishing occurs, usually quiet in the summer.
We have recently expanded our services as a fully furnished home to month to month leases for professional, project managers, or short term needs for folks, available between September and May. Please inquire for the special rate.

Home area is 1600 sq. feet. Waking up to a morning cup of coffee or tea, while gazing out the many windows facing the ocean is a pleasure.

Just a few minute walk from downtown Kodiak, the house faces due south, with spectacular views of the ocean and nearby Woody Island and Near Island. Relax and watch the abundant wildlife of Kodiak: many eagles, sea lions, sea otters and sea lions. Our home's location is the perfect view for watching the many commercial fishing and pleasure boats coming and going. We provide a booklet to help identify the many different vessels.

The first floor has a warm, maple kitchen, our cupboards are full of pots and pans, utensils, and dishes. Local Kodiak cookbooks are supplied for a special seafood dinner, of your local catch of the day!

The main living room and dining table are in this area. Through the french doors, are a brand-new bathroom/laundry room, and bedroom and a small sitting area with the television and dvd library. The second floor has a large bedroom with spectacular channel view, a large bathroom, and a small area for an extra futon, or inflatable bed. (There is plenty of room for more than two additional beds, especially casual sleeping for kids).

The water is so close to you. You can literally see whales and otters and seals from the bedroom. We even saw a whale tale not 200 ft away from our front door (so cool!!). I was able to work remotely off of the wifi and only had connectivity issues for one day, which was fixed instantly once I notified the property manager. The kitchen was stocked with everything you needed to cook from home. One thing that we really appreciated was the fact that they asked guests to remove their shoes before stepping onto the carpet. The whole apartment felt overwhelmingly clean which was fantastic. The last thing I will mention is the private access to the beach where you can find an endless amount of sea glass. We loved every second of this stay. If you are on the fence about staying here, I promise you, you won’t regret it."

Kodiak harbor is about 15 -20 min walk (no steep grade). Also under 5 min walk to the Bean and Bloom coffee shop-on the channel by the bridge. A pleasant and comfortable spot with large windows to watch eagles, fish, otters, boats, planes. Queen mattress was firm and cotton sheets were comfy. Water pressure was good. Tap water safe to drink and tastes fine. Unfortunately, there’s not enough hot water in the tank to enjoy the large bathtub (which I was looking forward to). Water became tepid before 1/2 full. Lovely view from the bed of the channel and woods which creates a secluded feeling. Window shades are nice but not “black out”. So, if you need it very dark to sleep, bring an eye mask in the long summer daylight season. Enjoyed the covered outdoor porch. Art was all from Alaskan artists. Did not use the tv. A couple of plates or bowls would be a nice addition. It would have been nice to be able to drop our packs off in a secure location prior to check in so we wouldn’t have to carry them around most of the day, but that’s small potatoes. Taxi from airport was under 25. Enjoyed & would recommend. "

Come stay at "Grandma's" while she's away. This space was built for In laws to have their our space but still be part of our daily lives. Washer and Dryer are shared (we're working on getting another upstairs). The dogs stay upstairs, unless you want them downstairs.
We have fires when the weather allows us, you are welcomed to join us or start one for yourselves if we are not home.
We want you to be as comfortable as you can while you are away from your own place.

Our studio style cabana in The Flats has all you need for your time in Kodiak.

The 10 minute drive south from the airport is packed with ocean and mountain vistas, and our wooded lot is only steps from Russian Creek. The Cabana has its own parking area and entrance to the property, and shares our private, fenced, one-acre space with our family home and two big, furry, friendly dogs.

With downtown Kodiak being just 15 minutes north, our cabana is a perfect base regardless of your adventure!

The space
A wall of windows and a row of windows along a high lofted ceiling, and French doors fill the main space with natural light. A classic wood stove and comfortable seating adds to the cozy appeal of our cabana.

The cabana is best suited for a couple. A queen bed on frame with a nightstand and chest of drawers makes up the sleeping space.

A full size futon can provide two more sleeping accommodations, but it is a futon. Otherwise it is a comfy spot to lounge in the sun as it shines through the French doors.

A bathroom including a shower, washer/dryer, linens, and other amenities is sure to meet all your needs.

Wether you plan on preparing your own meals, or just need morning coffee, the kitchen space is ready. Start your morning with fresh Kodiak roasted coffee, and prepare your dinner highlighting the day’s catch with the charcoal grill, a electric frying pan, hot plate, or microwave. A small refrigerator has space for a few meals, snacks and beverages, or other essentials including cooking and eating utensils, flatware, and drinkware. If you need freezer space to store your ice cream, your daily limit of salmon fillets, or the bounty from a successful hunt, just let us know, we’ve saved room. The kitchen space is rounded out with a table and chairs.

Electric baseboard heaters provide passive heating, as the woodstove is supplemental. Seasoned wood and kindling is provided, so feel free to get a fire going and up the ambiance! Nothing beats the dry heat of a wood fired stove!

The parking area is off a side street and fenced off from the main yard with a gate opening to the cabana’s path. The path leads to the door off of the cabana’s kitchen.

There is no WiFi, but cell phone service is great.

We have two very large dogs. They will happily greet you upon your arrival. Barking is their favorite, and while we know they are just excitedly saying, “hello!” we also realize it can be quite intimidating. If you are uncomfortable with dogs we can be sure to keep them inside for when you arrive, but know that they have access to the entire property surrounding the cabana, and will be roaming the property freely during your stay.

We have two very large dogs. They will happily greet you upon your arrival. Perched just above the harbor, we get incredible views of the bay and downtown. It's the perfect place to relax after a fun filled day of adventuring. Relaxing in front of the bay view windows, you can often see bald eagles fly by, sea otters in the harbor, or possibly even a whale or two. This unit is the first floor mother-in-law suite connected to Bayview House.

The space
You will have access to the entire downstairs apartment with a fully stocked kitchen, living room with smart TV, bedroom and bathroom. There is also laundry access from your unit. The property manager will have your contact information to inform you when she will be using the laundry facilities. She is allowed full access when requested.

Other things to note
Perched on a hill means a great gluteus maximus workout. If you venture off on a walk, there is a hill to conquer and a lot of stairs to reach the front door - but the reward is the view; and the view is worth it.
Please note that the driveway is a very steep hill and parking is tight. Please ensure you’re parked in the spot labeled for Bayview and mindful of the neighbor’s parking spot.
This unit is the first floor mother-in-law suite connected to Bayview House which means if guests are occupying upstairs, you might be able to hear each other.

The space
This unit is a lower unit of a split level duplex (foot steps from upstairs can be heard at times) and the entrance to the unit is from the back of the house. It features a large open floor plan suitable for up to 4 guests. The bedroom has a comfortable queen size bed and in the living room there's a pull out queen size bed for more sleeping space

Guest access
Guest's will have access to the entirety of the downstairs unit except the locked door that leads to the garage. Cleaning staff may need to access the garage for cleaning supplies to clean the upstairs unit while guests are staying but the unit is locked from the inside so it can't be accessible while occupied. If cleaning staff does need to access the garage I will notify the guests in advance.

Other things to note
This is a Lower unit in a split level duplex so depending on the guests staying upstairs footsteps can be heard at times. Please read the check in instructions after you book so you can find the entrence to the unit with no trouble. Please note that the entrance to the unit is from the back. Parking for the unit is underneath the deck.
If you found yourself at the front of the house go through the gate on the left side of the house through the yard and through the next gate and the door is under the deck.

This cozy escape is all about peace and quiet. The electric fireplace, king size bed, leather arm chairs and overstuffed sleeper sofa couch will welcome you after a long, adventurous day in Kodiak. This unit has an oversized walk-in tile shower, electric fireplace, heated faux fur blanket, and a large walk-in closet with plenty of storage for hunters, fishermen, backpackers, and the like. This unit has a door connecting to a separate 2 bedroom unit and can be opened for family or friends traveling with you. We receive very few complaints about sound but guests may hear others in units next door. Entrance to this unit is a less formal approach than your standard front door, you'll walk around the side of the house through the lawn to the covered back deck to "go home" each night but it gives you ALL the privacy! The large covered deck and glass French doors showcase a wooded mountain view right in the back yard.

Myself, my husband, and family live on premises and co-own the property together. We work on a commercial fishing vessel which usually gives us time off when we are in port. We want to make sure our guests have all the necessary items for an enjoyable stay and are typically available on short notice for any questions, tips, or needs, but we also know our guests usually prefer their privacy and space.

This is a cozy hillside studio apartment very close to downtown Kodiak. We are perched on a short gravel side road, so noise and traffic are minimal.

There is a queen-size bed suitable for one person or a couple. We can provide one or two foam floor mattresses to accommodate other sleeping arrangements or small children, subject to prior approval.

In addition to the nightly rate and fees charged by AirBnB, there is a 12% City of Kodiak bed tax which we will collect at check in.

The space
The hot water is produced by an on-demand propane heater, so showers are limitless in duration. The flow rate at a warm temperature is only about half of normal hotel flow rate, however.

The kitchen has a mini-fridge, smallish microwave/convection oven, and two-burner hot plate. There is also an Instant Pot pressure cooker, rice maker, many coffee makers, cookware, etc. There is no range or baking oven.

We recently installed new carpet, so please remove your shoes before entering the inner apartment.

We have an 8' x 12' banya (sauna) building, which we built and finished with hand-milled cedar from one of our favorite camping beaches. It is brought up to temperature by a wood stove. Guests will have access for a relaxing heat soak, if desired. It has a nice little deck for lounging and hanging out.

Other things to note
We are located on High Street at about 105' above sea level, so if you are on foot, you will have a little climbing to do from downtown. High Street is a short graded gravel road with no shoulders or sidewalks. We are about 100 yards uphill, so take care when walking if the road is slippery from snow, ice, or rain. We have an off-street parking space available if you have a car or non-huge truck.

Set on Spruce Cape Road, Goldilocks B&B is situated right on the ocean. You can look down from the cliff to a vast ocean expanse where fishing boats are often seen sailing by. Whales, eagles and lots of other wildlife are able to be seen from each room as well and there is a spacious deck if you prefer.

There is a spacious great room for guests with loads of seating all of course with ocean views.
