Beautiful and cozy apartment (attached to our house but with a separate entrance and locked door between apartment and house. The space is completely yours!). Free snacks/coffee/tea and everything you need to cook. Plants brighten the space. The rental is clean and comfortable. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and extra blankets. There is a queen self-inflatable air mattress in unit (can be put in living room but it would be tight). Rest assured that all bedding, including blankets and comforter, are washed after each guest’s stay. The rental has blackout curtains throughout to help you sleep during our beautiful long daylight summer days. There is plenty of closet and storage space.

Hot water heater, Keurig, coffee pods, creamer, tea, and fun snacks provided for our guests. Kitchen has a full refrigerator, freezer, stove, oven, toaster, microwave, personal blender, and crockpot. The apartment has the basics needed for cooking and eating (salt, pepper, oil, pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups etc.). Our tap water is great for drinking. We are happy to try to provide anything extra (rice cooker etc.) that you may need, upon request.

The cute electric fireplace in the bedroom makes the space cozy. Please let us know if you would like another fireplace for the living room. Bathroom is roomy and clean and has a full tub and spray shower nozzle. We provide plenty of towels. We also provide cotton balls, q-tips, makeup remover cloths, disposable toothbrushes, travel size toothpaste, bath soap, and other toiletries. If you need something else, just ask!

We are surrounded by views of the Talkeetna and Chugach mountains, this quiet retreat is a studio (700 sq feet) ) apt with a FULL kitchen and laundry, this retreat is perfect for refreshing yourself in Alaska. We are located on Gooding Lake, which has a sandy beach and float plane access. The canoe, & kayakes are available at no charge. Centrally located north of the Trunk Rd between Palmer and Wasilla, Stormy Hill Retreat is close to Hatcher Pass, Matanuska Glacier, Palmer, Wasilla and beyond.
Guests must be able to walk up a full flight of steps.

No smoking or parties, but a pet dog is welcome with a pet deposit, which returned when there are no issues.

- "We booked this property to break up a drive from Denali to Homer. I chose it also because it had its own washer and dryer, which allowed us to pack lighter and wash clothes part way through our trip. This little place was just perfect. Located in a private gated community on a hill overlooking a small lake. We only stayed one night so didn't make use of the kayaks and paddle boards that Rebecca had available. The place had all the amenities one could need (even a tiny oven/stove that we didn't use, but we did use the washer/dryer). The bathroom was roomy and cozy at the same time. Bedding and beds were exceptionally comfortable, with an array of different pillow types (including foam!), and the place had sturdy blackout blinds. Rebecca greeted us when we arrived to let us know she was right next door if we needed anything. Wonderful place. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area or just passing through."

Our 2021 constructed craftsmen cottage is nestled in the woods but very close to Palmer. This is a quiet 8 acre parcel but only 5 minutes from breweries, shops and restaurants in downtown Palmer. Close to Hatcher Pass, Independence Mine, Glaciers, Hiking, Musk Ox and Reindeer farms. The owner's house is also on the property and they are available to you throughout your stay. The owners have lived in Alaska for over 40 years and are committed to helping you with all there is to experience!

The Space:
Forestlane Cottages were designed and built solely by the owner with simplicity, efficiency and quality. The cottage and windows are situated to provide privacy but yet enjoy the outdoor space where it is located. Enjoy the private cedar wood porch in the morning sun or midday and evening shade from the surrounding trees. The cottage living room has a gas fireplace and reclinable couch chairs to enjoy a tv show or relax from a long day of adventure in Alaska. The kitchen is provided with all the utensils and cookware to provide guest everything they need to make a great home cooked meal.

Guest Access:
All guest have access to the full cottage and the surrounding woods. The quarter mile driveway through the woods and the half mile access road is vey lightly traveled and offer a pleasant walk and fantastic views of the fields and mountains that surround Palmer.

This quaint log home was built in Palmer, Alaska in 1950.

The log home sits on a large, landscaped yard with stunning views of Pioneer Peak and the Butte. The quiet peaceful setting along Bodenburg Creek provides a relaxing stay. If privacy is what you want, this is the place for you. The large yard is surrounded by trees, giving you the privacy you desire. The property is bordered by the creek on one side, watch for salmon headed to the spawning grounds beginning mid-August.

*You can hear the Alaska Raceway Park from the home. They run some weekdays and most weekends throughout the summer May-September.

Ted Stevens airport is only a one hour beautiful drive away, making the cabin a great destination to start or end your trip to get a great nights sleep while getting that first, or final, taste of tranquil Alaskan surroundings. Traveling solo? Our solo guests have said that they were able to let go of the anxiety and feel safe and comfortable while staying in the cabin.
With a wide assortment of year round activities in the area, the cabin is an excellent choice for a place to recharge after having the adrenaline pumping all day. The experience at the Glacier Breeze is so unique, that it’s even become a popular place for locals to come get away and enjoy the Alaskan beauty at some of it's best!

Without having to worry about being surprised by cleaning fees and checkout chores, you can already start to relax! We have no cleaning fee and the only thing we ask at check out is to make sure you have your stuff and to put the heat on low if it’s freezing out. It’s you that’s here on vacation, not us!

What’s the cabin have to offer you? It may be a tiny cabin, but it’s loaded with comforts and hand crafted details!

The open floor plan living area has a comfortable love seat with entertainment provided via a TV loaded with several streaming services. If you would prefer some auditory entertainment, an Alexa speaker is waiting for your request for the soothing tunes of your choice to further enhance the already relaxing atmosphere. Should you prefer to just unplug from the outside world you can choose from assorted board games or Alaskan themed books to chill out with.

A wood stove will keep you toasty through the chilly Alaskan nights , we will be glad to explain how to use it, should you not be familiar with operating one. Firewood is supplied between September and April and is typically available for purchase May - August.

The full size hand built memory foam Murphy bed is layered in soft, hypoallergenic and sustainably sourced bamboo sheets topped by a warm down alternative comforter. Add in the crackling sound of the wood slowly burning in the stove and you will for sure get a great nights sleep!
Blackout blinds are installed on the windows for those not so dark summer Alaskan nights.

The amply equipped kitchen includes a stove, full size refrigerator, toaster, blender, crock pot, pans and the utensils you need to prepare your favorite meals. Craving a coffee or other hot beverage fix? We have you covered with the choice of a drip pot, Kureg or French press with an assortment of coffee and tea, featuring locally sourced samples. If you need something that’s not on hand, let us know and we may have it to bring out to the cabin for you to use. Not up to cooking? We would be glad to recommend a local restaurant depending on what you may be in the mood for. The Palmer area has some great locally owned restaurants, many that serve locally sourced foods. It might surprise you what is produced here in the Matsu Valley!

The private bathroom features a tub/shower combo with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided.

Fast 50mb Wifi is provided for your entertainment and work needs.

Bear spray and bug spray are also supplied to help keep some of the more aggressive residents at bay while out exploring the area. Please do let us know if you use the bear spray so we can replace it with a new one for the next guests, and we aren’t going to lie, we would want to hear the story!

Welcome to the Fireweed Cabin. We are 60 min from anchorage, and 15 minutes from Palmer. In Palmer you will find local gift shops, delicious food, Alaskan history, and the Alaska State Fair! A 15 min drive will put you in beautiful Hatcher Pass recreation area! This location is perfect for hiking, biking, skiing, snow machining, sight seeing, or a road trip through the mountains. The Fireweed Cabin is the perfect base for Alaskan adventures and travels.

The Space:
Tucked away on the back side of our 5 acres in a sprawling quiet neighborhood is our Fireweed Cabin. Upstairs there is 1 queen bed and a loveseat to take a nap or relax. Or with the FAST WIFI, you can stream your favorite show on the 50" Roku tv. Downstairs there is a sofa bed that opens into a single bed. There is a small dining table for 3, a fully equipped kitchen with olive oil, some needed spices, misc. snacks, K-cup coffee machine, and a full bathroom with a bathtub/shower with shampoo, conditioner, and body soap. There is a Front load washer/dryer with laundry soap and dryer sheets downstairs.

Guest access:
You have access to the entire guesthouse with a private entrance. There is a small grass yard, a charcoal barbecue grill, a low smoke fire pit,( we supply some wood and fire starter)and an outside table and chairs. Plenty of free parking. We also live on the property.

Lazy Mountain Hideaway is a large private living space in the lower level of our home. 1904 square feet, with separate entrance and parking. The two bedrooms each have full size beds with new Tuft & Needle memory foam mattresses. There is also a new sleeper sofa in the family room with a queen airbed. There is also a flat screen television with local channels and Roku with several streaming apps.The Jack & Jill bathroom includes a shower and a tub for soaking; hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, and locally made soap are provided. Wifi is available. The guest kitchen includes refrigerator, gas stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, French coffee press, cookware, dishes, silverware and utensils. We provide coffee and tea, and local organic farm fresh eggs when available. The laundry has front loading washer and dryer with detergent, fabric softener, ironing board and iron.

There is a new propane barbecue grill on the guest patio, where guests can check out the vegetable garden and the amazing mountain views and sunsets.

The home sits on 21 acres on the shoulder of Lazy Mountain, just 7 miles northeast of Palmer. Guests can go for walks, cross country ski, snowshoe on trails without ever having to leave the property. Moose live in the area, and can be seen any time of the year; in the spring they will have calves with them. Neighbors raise bison and elk, and also board horses. Mountain views abound. Guests love our proximity to Palmer, the Alaska State Fair, Hatcher Pass, Matanuska Glacier, the Musk Ox and Reindeer farms, Lazy Mountain hikes, and more.

One of the best things about Lazy Mountain Hideaway is the peace and quiet. Owls can be heard calling to each other at night! And, if you're here at the right time of year, Northern Lights will be a special treat.

For guests who stay three nights or longer, we will provide a large loaf of hot homemade French bread upon request (see photo).

- "We absolutely loved this place. Th hosts were very gracious and hospitable and very friendly. They let us pick raspberries from their patch and even gave us fresh vegetables from their garden for supper. Gretchen even managed to find a spot for us to hunt fossil plant material. The place was very spacious with beautiful linens and nice local art decorating the walls. The view looked out to the mountains. They provided recommendations for activities and places to visit and eat. One was to visit Hatcher Pass and pick wild huckleberries. Hatcher Pass was one of our most favorite outings. The scenery was gorgeous! We had a wonderful stay and would return in a heartbeat."

This quaint cabin has a style all its own is centered in the middle of 40 acres of wilderness. You will fall in love with this quiet, peaceful beautiful spot close to Hatcher Pass and Government Peak.

Come and Enjoy the peaceful cabin in the woods. There is a plenty of grassy areas to play yard games or have a great grill out. There is also a huge fire pit for you to enjoy the evenings with glass of wine or making marshmallows.

Guests have access to the whole cabin and grass area in front and back of the cabin.

We live down the road from the cabin but stay to ourselves unless you need anything.

There is one way in to the property and one way out on Byron’s way. There is plenty of parking for your vehicles.

In summer, you`ll find freshly grown goods that you are welcome to pick and use when in season and two kayaks that are available for your use. Inside is a stylish and cozy one bedroom guest suite with a full kitchen that is furnished with art and goods made by local artists & artisans.

This space is a 1bd/1ba suite with a full kitchen. We`ll provide you some farm fresh eggs from the chicken coop, and a coffee sample from a local coffee roaster a few miles away. You are also welcome to use anything growing in the garden. Depending on the season, some of the things available may be: lettuce, chard, beets, radishes, thyme, rosemary, mint, chives, sage, parsley, oregano, rhubarb, strawberries, blueberries, honey berries, currants, raspberries, and apples. There is a hammock and a smokeless fire pit available on the patio. We also have two kayaks that you are welcome to use free of charge (additional cost if you need them transported).

Inside, the space is decorated with art & goods made by local artists and artisans. The living room is filled with books about Alaska and books written by local authors. There is also a TV with access to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, and some board games. There is a guitar, banjo, fiddle, and ukulele hanging on the wall that would love to be played (but will probably need to be tuned!).

The bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress, blackout shades, a large walk in closet, a tv, and a sound maker that displays the northern lights. The overhead light dims, and there are USB ports on the bedside table lamps for easy phone charging.

The bathroom has a shower & tub combo and plenty of storage. You find toilet paper, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, and a first aid kit provided to you.

There is also a small laundry room with a washer and dryer, and an iron and ironing board available for your use.

The space is ideal for two people, but can accommodate up to four people with the sofa bed in the living room. There is a three inch memory foam mattress to place on the sofa bed in order to increase comfort.

You`ll have private access to the driveway, patio with container gardens in the summer, and the entire one bedroom guest suite. There is also a garden area at the beginning of your driveway that has blueberries, apple trees, raspberries, and honey berries in the summertime.

From the outside, walking around to the other side of the house leads to my family`s yard & living space.

The lots are one to five acres in size, so there is plenty of space and privacy, but you also might see the neighbors out in their yard or the kids riding bikes or four wheelers in the street. There is a local gas station/ice cream stop, a little bar, and also a pizza place within a mile or so, but otherwise most services will be in Palmer or Wasilla. Palmer has great breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We are very close to all the recreational activities in Hatcher Pass.

A car is required to get around, and AWD is handy in the winter. You`ll have a driveway with a couple parking spots available to you.

The space is a walkout basement apartment attached to our house, but it has its own private driveway, staircase, and entrance. You will hear us living above you (dogs, footsteps, voices, watching movies, etc.), or see me out on your patio watering the plants or collecting chicken eggs, but otherwise you will have the space entirely to yourself. We have a snow plow service that includes shoveling the stairs and patio, so you may see someone shoveling if it has just snowed.

There are a dozen stairs (or a small hill in the summer) to climb to access the apartment. Though we shovel them after snowfalls, the stairs on that hill struggle with snow drifts from the frequent and infamous Palmer winter winds and are often covered in some snow. We provide a snow shovel and ice melt for your use.

We are on a well and septic tank, so please don`t flush anything but toilet paper down the toilets.

We are on a shared HVAC system and keep the system mostly off in the summer time and at 70 degrees in the winter. We provide space heaters, fans, and blankets when needed. We don`t have air conditioning (it isn`t very common in Alaska), but because it is a walkout basement the windows let light and heat in from the sun but it generally stays relatively cool in the apartment during the summer and warm in the winter.

The space is very relaxing and relatively quiet, but there are some noises you will likely hear during your stay. These may include my family living in our house upstairs above the apartment the chickens clucking while laying eggs, neighborhood kids and dogs, or the water pump and HVAC system which are both located downstairs. Because of the shared HVAC, you also may smell our breakfast, lunch, or dinner cooking.

This modern walkout 500 sq. ft. basement studio is cozy and has everything you need to relax: a fully equipped kitchen, Smart TV, WiFi and a convenient washer/dryer in unit. The studio comfortably sleeps 2 people and 2 people on foldout couch and mattress. A Pack n' Play is available upon request. The bed is 2 singles connected and the American Leather high quality single couch folds out as well. Enjoy heated floors, a bathroom with shower, a mudroom for gear, a walk-in closet and sliding glass door onto patio with dining and mountain views. The kitchen is stocked with basic essentials and has coffee, tea and creamer for morning wake-ups as well as oatmeal/Kodiak Flapjack mix for breakfast. Your spot is close to Government Peak Recreation Area (5min), the Moose Range trails (2min), and the vastness of Hatcher Pass trails and backcountry.

Guest access
All parts of the space are yours to use. There will be movement above you as people live in the main house is but there is soundproofing in the ceiling and walls and we do our best to be good neighbors and keep the noise to a minimum. You are welcome to enjoy the lawn and surrounding areas- a live edge picnic table in the woods and a trail circuit among the birch trees. If the garden is in full production we are happy to share our harvest. Kids are free to play on the trampoline as long as parents supervise.

Because the Daybreak Suite is a completely self-contained space, it is suitable for extended stays of 30 days or even longer. But shorter stays are equally welcome. Additional amenities, include a gas fireplace to keep you warm and toasty whatever the weather.

You have access either through the front of the house which is for guest use only or through the back door of your accommodations. Breakfast can be enjoyed either in your own room or in the breakfast room next to it.
