The place is spotless, with big comfy beds, a common lounge/living room on our floor and we had a grand spotless bathroom attached. The owners were able to get us a room with a pull out couch for an extra bed, although we hadn't booked it. And fast wifi included. A super price for all this! Great people! When we showed up, they were cleaning fresh picked blueberries to make jam the next day. Breakfast was included and unbelievable. Fresh baked muffins (she likes to bake - Win for guests!) and eggs over easy (my way), potatoes, toast, and sausage. With orange juice and great fresh coffee. I cannot say enough good things!"

Some things to note and appreciated: the gravelled area out front for our personal parking space; the cute porch furnished with 2 chairs and a small table, to sit outside and soak in the sun while enjoying a drink; the touches of esthetic rustic/country decor, the super comfortable queen sized bed, and oh-so comfy pillows, linens, quilts, a kitchen size sink, mini keurig, electric kettle, toaster  microwave, some glassware and silverware, and THE lovely bathroom, ALL made for a wonderful getaway very pleasant and relaxing.  This place offered more than I expected and it was especially CLEAN, which is high on my list of expectations. The conveniences of the cabin and nearby drive into town, local shops and restaurants, trails and look-out have me looking forward to our next stay. I highly recommend these accommodations. One of the owners I spoke to, Twila, was and is very quick to respond though she was out of state. Originally, we were to stay at theTalkeetna Lodge up the road but I am very glad to find this as our alternative. It will be our first choice the next time ;) "

Enjoy a buddy fishing weekend, romantic getaway, or utilize our outdoor space and bring up family and friends for an amazing retreat. The cabin only sleeps 6 people. Feel free to inquire on a large group utilizing outdoor space with tent or RV. Spring 2023 you will also be able to book two small cabins on the front of the property for a large group, please inquire. Our cabin is designed after the "tiny house" movement. We created a space we would love to visit. Our bathroom features a 1-2 person infared sauna and corner shower. We have thought of every detail from premier furnishings, stackable washer/dryer, hotel quality cotton sheets and towels, feather and hypoallergenic pillows, to a fully equipped kitchen with a dorm size refrigerator, 20" electric stove with 4 burners, and dish sets for 8. Sig n into your Roku with a flat screen TV downstairs and one in each loft, as well as free and excellent Wifi. Our cabin sits on a 12'x20' foundation and has two lofts each measuring 8'x12'. One loft has a queen bed, one loft has two twin beds, downstairs has a click-clack sofa which folds down to a bed measuring 70.5"x 30.5" and a twin size 2" memory foam floor-mat lounger. Pack-n-play available upon request. Our loft railings and ladders are custom made with a birch tree designs by a local artist. Although our lofts are quite sturdy we do not feel they would be appropriate for small children or people with limited mobility. The dining area will have a solid wood birch pub table and 4 stools.
Outside hosts a large area for parking, tents, RV hookup with water and electric only (no dumping on-site), or just plenty of room to play. Enjoy your private large family size custom fire pit, outdoor small propane BBQ, or front porch with two chairs where you can unwind. All linens provided! During the winter the skiing trails start right from the end of our driveway and are amazing! A new summer trail has been constructed for lake access on Fish Lake Trail. It is about 0.6 mile walk from the end of the driveway to launch your kayak or paddle board on Fish Lake or just enjoy walking your dog. The cabin is also adjacent to a 14 mile long paved bike path.

We have added two more tiny houses to the front of the property. These cabins have a separate driveway from this cabin. The entire property is 1.7 acres so there is plenty of privacy. The house is 500 square feet and has 2 sleeping areas, one queen bedroom, and a trundle bed is set up in the living room, which consists of 2 twin mattresses total, but can be converted to a king bed by raising the lower mattress. 1 bathroom includes a walk in shower, and stack laundry center. The house is also equipped with WiFi, and a 65” flat screen TV with a selection of DVDs to choose from.

There are hand-stained concrete floors throughout the home. On the first floor, you’ll find a fully stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The living room has a leather sofa, recliner, rocker, and an oversized chair. There’s a large, oversized ceiling fan near the exposed wooden beam. There is a first-floor private bedroom with a queen bed and a two-inch memory foam topper, a luxurious down comforter, linens, and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom hosts a shower, a concrete counter, and a copper sink. Down the hall is an additional half bath.

The hand-milled birch staircase leads to the second-floor loft gathering space with an Apple TV, HD screen, and a sofa bed. There’s a private master bedroom with a new Casper king bed, luxurious down comforter, linens, and a ceiling fan. The ensuite bathroom has a six-foot oversized Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, concrete counter, and a double copper sink.

The owners are always close by if needed.

The Rusty Salmon Sunshine Lakehouse is the perfect weekend getaway or an excellent extended stay for friends, families, and small groups.

The Talkeetna Trail House is conveniently located within walking distance of Denali Brewing's Tasting Room and Spur Trail. The area offers many options for outdoor activities. Conveniently located as a stopping point on your way to Denali or a great base camp location. Downtown Talkeetna is 10 miles away.

New in 2022, the Trail House offers a modern fully-equipped kitchen, smart tv, washer and dryer and wi-fi. Surrounded by beautiful birch trees, you will have this one acre lot to your self. There is plenty of space for additional vehicles and trailers.

Lake House - Located two miles from the town of Talkeetna on Christiansen Lake is a newly built two bedroom home with an additional bonus loft overlooking the water. Whether you are enjoying the hot tub, using the complimentary paddle boards and canoe or grilling out on the deck, you will find yourself relaxing and enjoying all the activities that the lake has to offer! This location is accessible via float plane and road with room for RV's or trailers.

Float and Ski plane accessible this home was newly built in 2018. It has a fully functioning kitchen, BBQ, TV and is located directly on the lake. With a master bedroom (King bed), guest bedroom (King bed) and a loft (Queen bed) that is accessible by ladder it will sleep 5.

The beautiful Birch, Spruce and Willow Cabins are tucked away at the base of a small hill and feature a living space as well as a spacious front porch. Our cabins are situated in a secluded, peaceful birch and spruce boreal forest.

The Willow is our newest cabin, completed in 2016. This 900 sq ft cabin features:

The “Red Sled” is perfect for sharing with others or for a family, with a new queen bed on the main floor along with the bathroom, and a second queen plus a twin in the loft bedroom which is open to main floor below. Lake views abound everywhere in your cabin, or step out onto the spacious covered front porch to take in the sounds of nature while enjoying the lake. Summer or winter, listen to the loons or catch a midnight view of the aurora borealis, the Red Sled offers a private lakefront retreat in the woods year-round.

Take advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen including full-size range/oven and refrigerator, grill out in summer, or sample the restaurants in the area. Downtown Talkeetna is just 10 miles away – an easy drive for shopping, dining, flightseeing, fishing, attending events and other activities.

Talkeetna Tiny House Cabin 'Aspen’: new winter 2023. Aspen is a unique tiny house addition to our cozy property nestled in the natural Fish Lake Subdivision, just 5 miles from downtown Talkeetna. Drive into your peaceful modern getaway located right next to the Fish Lake Multi-Use Trailhead, accessible both winter and summer. We have designed our three tiny cabins to enjoy the best of Alaska, from a walk or ski to the lake/trail system, bike on the paved path, or to enjoy our unique downtown.
**Please note, this is a small space, a “tiny home” bathroom areas are small and living area is small. Best suited to a couple or a couple with a small child.

Aspen Cabin is a modern design tiny home that is on a 10 x 20 foundation and was built in 2023. It is decorated with comfort and quality in mind and adorned with Alaskan art. It has a queen bed and a chair that converts to a single floor futon (37"x80"). This space is best suited for a couple or couple and one child. Although the space is small, you will not lack for amenities that make you feel spoiled in the natural wooded surroundings. We have excellent WiFi, a 43” Roku TV where you can log into your own accounts and watch your favorite shows, a shower room with a wall mounted hairdryer, a separate room with a toilet and mini sink, electric wall mounted fireplace, electric heat, in-counter dishwasher, two burner counter top stove, microwave, dorm size refrigerator, coffee pot, and fully stocked kitchen. We supply hotel quality linens and bedding. Although this cabin is new, we are not new to the business and have hundreds of 5 star reviews on our original cabin that we call Denali. Denali Cabin sits on the back of the property, and has a separate driveway, Dragonfly Cabin, Aspen’s twin shares a driveway with Aspen and has the same design. You will also be able to enjoy an outdoor 21” pan fire stove fire-pit and 4 chairs as well as enough firewood to get you started. There are a total of three cabins on 1.7 acres. You are provided with one parking space next to the cabin. You can also use on-street parking if needed.

The space
The property is located in East Talkeetna close to downtown, we have bicycles for use to ride during your stay, we ask that they are please put back into the garage when you are not using them.

The house is on the corner of I Street and Front Street. The front door is on I Steet, however the parking area and door with the code to enter is located on Front Street.

Guest access
The kitchen, living rooms and bathrooms are shared spaces. We ask that you keep personal items in your bedroom unless you are actively using them, like a laptop, your clothing, bathroom toiletries.

There is a BBQ you can use, please clean after using.

Please clean your dishes right after cooking, so that the shared space is kept clean for the next person.

During your stay
The best way to contact the host is to send a text message direct to my cell phone. We work during the day and don’t usually check the air bnb app. My cell number can be located in the air bnb messages.

There are two students helping to clean this property that live as caretakers on the property. They can also be of assistance when home but any issues with the house itself can be addressed through me (Jamie).

Other things to note
This is a shared house with 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. We are renting individual rooms to keep the price low for travelers, there aren’t many places in Talkeetna that have a low nightly price point, especially walking distance to downtown Talkeetna.

If you are renting this room, you will interact with our hosts who live on the property as well as other guests. If you are looking for something private, this is not the right space for you.

Due to the shared space we do ask that quiet hours are 10pm to 7am so that other guests can sleep. There’s plenty of nightlife in the summer if you want to howl at the moon, just be quiet when you return back to the shared rental.

The cabin is located 20 minutes from beautiful and historic downtown Talkeetna and has snowmachine access to the Talkeetna mountains right from the property. Fill your day with hours of good fishing close by, hiking, rafting, sightseeing and wildlife viewing. With Denali national park just a 2 1/2 hour drive north you’re sure to fill your days with plenty of excitement. Cabin is dry (has no running water) but stocked with water and has outhouse

The space
This is a dry cabin, (has no running water)with an outhouse and a foot pump water system for hands-free dishwashing/cleaning. The cozy bedroom is in the loft at the top of a steep staircase. Lots of outdoor activities close by some include fishing, four wheeling, scenic flight tours, rafting, boating, hiking and many more. Denali national park is only 2 1/2 hours north on the Parks Highway. For all you snowmachiners out there you can access various points in the Talkeetna mountains right from the property. No more loading up trailers and messing around with frozen ratchet straps. Once you’re here you can ride from the front door.

We are located 11 miles from Historic Downtown Talkeetna and 5 minutes from the Denali Brewing Tasting Room.

We strive to create a "Truly Alaskan" experience.

Our riverfront cabins are situated on carefully managed wilderness property in a boreal forest environment.

Our cabins are perfect for any traveler with a vehicle that loves to fish, hike, or commune with nature. Our streamside cabins have an eight-foot viewing deck where you can see an array of wildlife. From mid-July to mid-September, you often see migrating and spawning salmon right from your deck. Please note that this is a salmon sanctuary and fishing for salmon is prohibited. There are numerous sightings of grouse, eagles, mink, fox, ducks, martins, arctic terns, and the occasional moose or bear.

The cabin materials were cut within a half mile of the property, milled, and constructed just a few miles away. Even the tables and counters are handmade from the site. You'll be surrounded by 80 - 200 year old birch and spruce trees towering up to 100 feet tall.

Our sustainable solar-powered cabins and the large picture windows that make you feel a part of the environment. A fire pit is available for your use.

The cabins have a coffee maker, a tea kettle, and a single burner propane stove. Coffee and tea are supplied.

Our solar-powered cabins are "dry." Each cabin has a brand new private outhouse, however, we do not have pressured running hot water. The cabins include a sink area with a large decanter of potable water with fresh towels for you to wash up and to brush your teeth.

Please note that although we don't have internet, there is local AT&T cell service that averages two to three bars.

We are located 11 miles from Historic Downtown Talkeetna and 5 minutes from the Denali Brewing Tasting Room.

Our riverfront cabin sites are situated on carefully managed wilderness property in a boreal forest environment.

Our cabins are perfect for any traveler with a vehicle that loves to fish, hike, or commune with nature. Our streamside cabins have an eight-foot viewing deck where you can see an array of wildlife. From mid-July to mid-September, you often see migrating and spawning salmon right from your deck. Please note that this is a salmon sanctuary and fishing for salmon is prohibited. There are numerous sightings of grouse, eagles, mink, fox, ducks, martins, arctic terns, and the occasional moose or bear.

The cabin materials were cut within a half mile of the property, milled, and constructed just a few miles away. Even the tables and counters are handmade from the site. You'll be surrounded by 80 - 200 year old birch and spruce trees towering up to 100 feet tall.

Our sustainable solar-powered cabins and the large picture windows that make you feel a part of the environment. A firepit and a small bundle of firewood is available for your use.

The cabins have a coffee maker, a tea kettle, and a single burner propane stove. Coffee and tea are supplied.

Guest access
Each cabin has a generous parking space and is visually situated toward the river.

Just one mile past the bridge on the left you'll find the cabin's driveway with a sign and skis mounted up in the tree that directs you into our drive.

A key will be left for you.

Other things to note
Our solar-powered cabins are "dry." Each cabin has a brand new private outhouse, however, we do not have pressured running hot water. The cabins include a sink area with a large decanter of potable water with fresh towels for you to wash up and to brush your teeth.

Please note that although we don't have internet, there is local AT&T cell service that averages two to three bars.

Take it easy at this unique and peaceful getaway,
only 3.5 miles from downtown Talkeetna! If you enjoy getting out for a walk or bike ride in nature, there are some great trails just across the street from our road at Tigger Lake Park. Although a “Dry” (no running water or plumbing) guesthouse, you will find our “Glamping Loft” (Glorified Camping Loft above our Connex Building) comfortable and a fun rustic experience in the woods, during your stay in our charming town of Talkeetna!

The space
Our “Glamping Loft” in the woods is a one room open studio apartment on our private property! It is a “dry” apartment (with no plumbing or running water) therefore no indoor bathroom! However we have a nice clean and comfortable outhouse for your use (true Alaskan style)!
We also have a sink inside for brushing your teeth and washing hands! The only form of cooking is heating up food with a microwave!
You access our Loft with a flight of stairs, up to a private deck!

Guest access
Our “Glamping Loft” is accessed in the back of our property on the top of our big “Connex Building” (Storage Containers converted into a building). There will be a sign directing you where to park, and gravel path leading you to the back of the building where a “wooden moose sign” points the way up the stairs to your private deck and access to the “Glamping Loft”! You also access the outhouse from the gravel path and below the deck, off to the side. This space behind our “Connex Building” is yours during your stay!

Other things to note
*There is a flight of stairs you will need to climb to get up and down from our “Glamping Loft”!
*No indoor bathroom, as it is a “dry” apartment (no plumbing, running water, or shower on property) But there is a very nice outhouse for your use close by!
*You will find plenty of water inside the Loft! We have two 5 gallon water tanks, for the sink (for brushing teeth and washing hands only!) and collected in a 5 gallon tank below. And another 5 gallon water tank for the hot/cold Primo Water Dispenser! Also, complimentary water bottles and a full water pitcher for the Keurig (for coffee), in the full size refrigerator. If you are in need of any additional water, just let us know!
