- "Booked by my agent for a film we were shooting in the area. Very nice cleans property and the staff were very friendly. I stay in a lot of hotels and apartments and this one I've enjoyed the most. " - "Stayed 2 nights. Accommodation warm and comfortable throughout our stay. Staff member Jennifer at the Mount Stewart hotel where we collected our keys was welcoming and helpful. All the utilities worked well but would have been a nice touch to have the heating on for our arrival. This is missing all too often in hotels approaching winter time. Well equipped kitchen with small exception that there was no dish water tablets provided. Washing up liquid was provided. Weather was unseasonably windy and my wife and I braved the cliff top walk along the edge of the golf course. We didn't eat at the hotel but have done previously and can recommend the quality of the food. Overall a very pleasant stay. "

Set in a peaceful, rural location between Portpatrick and Stranraer, Laggansally Lodge provides total seclusion for those seeking to explore the delights of the Rhins of Galloway. Beaches, lighthouses, golf courses and renowned gardens enjoy an especially mild climate, happily fairly midge free. Wildlife watchers, walkers and cyclists are in for a treat! Opportunities to try your hand at both freshwater and sea-fishing abound.
Laggansally is a newly built spacious bungalow with comfortable excellent quality furnishings and everything you need to enjoy a home away from home, plus that little bit more. We provide everything from luxury bedding and towels to wood for the woodburning stove. The house is warm with oil fired central heating and a modern Rayburn. An expansive lawn to the front of the house, wildlife pond (fenced off for toddlers), and woodland approach together with ample parking ensure total privacy. Our small family farm is less than half a mile away - wander across and meet the menagerie!
We now take small pets.
- "Joanna was a wonderful host who made us feel like we were at home away from home. The property is lovely and peaceful, perfect for a quiet Christmas. The house was immaculate and well stocked with everything you could need! The wood burner in the livingroom made for a really cosy atmosphere. We will definitely be back again! " - "We had a fabulous two weeks at Laggansally. The house was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed and more. The kitchen was very well equipped and the table was ideal as it was big enough for a 2000 piece jigsaw whilst still leaving plenty of room for four of us to eat / play games. Two good sized sofas in the lounge gave us plenty of space to spread out if we were watching tv although most of the time we were out and about or playing games. The location of the cottage was perfect for us - we like it quiet - so the long track to the house and big open garden were a boon. Anyone who loves wildlife can enjoy watching the bunnies, deer, toads ( or frogs?🤔), birds of prey from the window. Or have a wander up the track to the farm and meet the four legged and two legged residents there! Joanna and Andy are lovely and made us feel so welcome without being intrusive. The area is beautiful with plenty of walks and beaches. There are supermarkets in Stranraer (about 5 miles away) for stocking up, and Portpatrick has some lovely pubs if you fancy a meal out. We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes over the years and Laggansally is definitely up there in the top 3, possibly even top spot! We will definitely be back. ❤️❤️"

- "We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice cottage with all you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are lovely and friendly and on hand if you need anything. We were a little bit shocked at the cost to run the storage heaters for the week. An addition of a wood burning stove would really help with this, although there is an allowance of the first £20 of electricity used to help. Lovely area with lots to see and do. Would recommend. Thank you both for a lovely stay."

You'll find the cottage well equipped with the general basics too from washing up liquid and bin bags to washing powder and loo paper.
We've recently created a host of magnificent woodland paths and coastal walks around Corsewall Estate for guests to enjoy during their stay. There are lots different options for shortening the walks or lengthening them. Many guests comment that they love the new paths as they don’t need to drive anywhere to walk – it’s just a case of stepping outside and the walks are right on their doorstep.
Corsewall Estate has three pretty beaches on Loch Ryan - Boat Bank, Lady Bay and Port Beg - that Garden Cottage guests can explore. A pretty walk down one of the drives will take you to Boat Bank, which is the nearest one to Garden and Stables Cottage. Both Boat Bank and Lady Bay are wonderful spots if you like collecting shells or pebbles - oyster shells and mussels to cowries and scallop shells never fail to disappoint. Bird watching down on the shores of Loch Ryan or in the woods is second to none. Lady Bay is a pretty bay on the Estate which is ideal for paddling, swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking.

There is a singles tennis court, large trampoline with safety net and a great climbing frame with a play house, slide, climbing wall and swings. There is also an indoor games room with table tennis and air hockey tables.
The cottage is located in over 20 acres of gardens and woodland. In late January and February, the woods feature charming drifts of snowdrops followed by daffodils and in April and May the hue turns to purple with acres of bluebells. There is colour in the gardens throughout the year starting with camellia from January to March, followed by a riot of colour in April and May as the rhododendrons and azaleas come into flower.
There is oodles of wildlife to spot – from roe deer and hares to barn owls, woodpeckers and most importantly, this area is one of the last bastions of the red squirrel.
The Blue Peter pub in the village of Kirkcolm is 10 minutes' walk away and does good pub grub.

- "Lovely property in a very scenic setting easily able to cope with 8 adults. Good location relative to the picturesque village, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Somewhat dated in its appearance and furnishing, but nevertheless wonderfully comfortable. Period bathroom fittings worked to perfection. Very well equipped, but an advertised barbecue disappointingly turned out to be completely rusted away." - "We had a great family holiday at Southcliffe. - "Lovely caravan. Sitting room area ample and kitchen lots of storage. Great idea to have a freezer too. Lots of kitchen tools, knives etc. Linen lovely and fresh. The toilet is small and narrow (a larger sized person will struggle). The single beds are ok for children but too narrow for adults. I pushed 2 singles together. Light and airy and fantastic views." - "The property was nice and clean with everything provided(apart from towels), Including free wifi, which was a nice surprise. One small criticism would be the mattress. They were a bit soft but that can be a personal thing. Anyway, lovely cozy property and i would have no hesitation visiting again in the future."

Second unit is entered by 4 steps two single doors gas fire heating with electric heaters in the bedroom, colour tv, kitchen, bedding and towels supplied.
- "Great location for catching the morning ferry. Area is quiet, parking is limited. Arrival in the daylight is easier to find the unit without getting turned around. Beds were comfortable, there are wall heaters in each room." - "Upon arrival the caravan was very cold, despite some heating being on. I telephoned the manager and advised him of this, suggesting that an electric heater would be appropriate (this message left on voicemail at 19.05.)The manager's wife rang at 19.40 and apologised for not calling back sooner as they were out for a meal. They agreed to bring a heater to the caravan. However the heater could only be plugged in, if the heaters in the two spare rooms were off otherwise the electric would overload and trip the main fuse box. The next morning at 7am, the power tripped off as I was boiling a kettle and my husband put the light on in the bathroom. We were plunged into darkness, my husband had to go out in the freezing wind and reset the tripped switch. Just before 8am it tripped off again as I went to the bathroom as my husband put the television on. The double bed consisted of a mattress which overhung the bedbase by 6 inches on one side and there was barely enough room down the sides to get into bed. None of this is acceptable in 2022."
