You have to vacation at Bethany Beach's Sea Colony Beach Resort to understand why it is so popular with families and couples along the East Coast.
The Sea Colony community owns 1/2 mile of private sandy beach just South of the Bethany Beach town center and consists of 9 high-rises , known as Sea Colony East and another thousand or so two level homes in a huge community all served by multiple trams and buses during the summer season. No matter what your interest, they have it. Pickelball- many, many new courts. Tennis- many indoor and outdoor courts on different surfaces. Pools- 12 heated outdoor pools including 2 indoor pools open all year round. Fitness-An entire center dedicated to fitness with all sorts of equipment. Lawn games- look out our balcony to see a large grassy field to pitch and throw. Bikes- rent some across the street and with miles and miles of level roads you will never see something twice. Wifi--1 gig Comcast speed in the condo and on the beach. We always upgrade our computers when we are there!
So do you know why the beaches are so clean? Because we have a sand sifter that goes up and down the beach every day grooming away the kelp and drifting wood. Plus, the owners and renters respect the facility making it a Delaware beach treasure.
Once inside our condo, go right out onto the balcony as the sun will never be in your eyes with a North East exposure. We never appreciated it until we realized how nice it was not having to sit under little umbrellas to read or to think!
The condo is a fully remodeled space with all new quality furniture, flat panel TVs, appliances, AC and even an AED after so many tragic deaths or revivals reported in the news.
We ask you to please read the reviews, not only for here but also our other place at the Indian River Inlet ( VRBO.COM/438483 ) 5 miles North where over 140 families have shared what they did or found to be of interest. In fact, between us using the home and our returnees coming back year over year, the actual number of available weeks becomes smaller and smaller because around 45% rebook in following years.
We should mention;
1. Sea Colony Recreational Association requires the purchase of guest badges to use the beach, facilities and to be on the grounds. Guest Badge Fees are per person per week ages 4 and over so for 2024 they are, from 1/1/24 to 5/3/24 $15 .....5/4/24 - 06/7/24 $25 …......6/8/24 - 9/13/24 $55…...... 9/14/24 - 9/22/24 $25 …….9/23/24 - 3/31/25 $15. All passengers of vehicles entering the East property must have a badge. Vehicles and pedestrians will be checked at entrances. You will receive a no cost second car pass if purchasing 3 adult passes. Watch the under the building heights as they tend to vary so don't get your car damaged.....around 6 feet.
Rentals are Saturday to Saturday during the summer months and shorter stays are possible during the off season (April, May-Sept, Oct.) or around Memorial Day and July 4. It never hurts to inquire about availability when you see an open period on the calendar close to your desired stay.
