Being able to walk to all the restaurants and shops and being right on the beach was an excellent advantage. You can park the car and never take it out until you leave. You do have to walk through the bedroom to get to the only bathroom so I wouldn’t stay here unless there are only two people or a family with young children. The unit is bigger and brighter than the pics. It has everything you need. Beach chairs and an umbrella and plenty of towels. The only drawback to staying on the boardwalk is delivery and garbage trucks making noise early in the mornings. If you’d like to sleep in bring earplugs. Other than that we had a great stay and would definitely return."

Bills place was perfect for our sized group, was impeccably clean and well thought out. It is a 1 br apartment which is part of a 3 unit property, also a 2 br apartment and a 4 br house. The sense of community with the other guests was really nice but if you want privacy u can have it. The location is a 10/10 and you will most likely pay the same or more to stay in a hotel that is nothing close to what you get here! Bill is the consummate owner. Kind and responsive from day 1. Our place on Bay Road is nestled between the ocean and the bay. It is a unique retro beach home. There are three apartments with three separate entrances. You can rent one side or all three if you are vacationing with friends or extended family. We are a half block to a private Beach. There are refreshing outside showers to use after a fun filled day at the beach. The backyard has a gas grill that goes perfectly with the outside kitchen. This is our family beach home and our children grew up spending their summers on Bay Road. It is a very special place to us and I'm sure you will love it too.

- "We had an amazing stay. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the condo." - "This was the perfect property for our weekend getaway to celebrate a birthday. The property has everything you need and gives you access to trails, pools and great access to the beach" - "The condo was great - very well equipped but a few small cleanliness items that should have not been overlooked from previous guests. End of first week in June and there seemed to be low occupancy in the units around us but it was very very quiet which was very nice!!! I like that this condo is among trees - very pleasant to sit on porch - in shade -and listen to birds. The condo is in the Sea Colony complex - of which we used none of the amenities as we were interested in Delaware State Park beaches. Sea Colony is a world in itself. Very nicely landscaped. My "complaint" is about Vacasa - the management company - and their communication before arrival and check-in. Before arrival, they send a bunch of emails, often with contradictory instructions about check-in. I called their customer service before arriving for clarification and they were less than helpful - as in not helpful at all. We had a late check-in on a Sunday evening - and customer service continued to give contradictory and false information. The email tells you to go their office, call and get an access code to a mail box (outside the office) - in the mail box is an arrival packet that includes parking permit. We called for the access code and were told no, proceed to the condo and packet would be there. We did as instructed but there was no packet there and no parking permit. So off to a security office (mile plus away) to get a temporary parking permit as there is plenty notice about towing if no permit. Bunch of wasted time. Monday morning at the Vacasa office, our packet awaited. There are other contradictory and less than straight forward things in the Vacasa emails and in Vacasa instructions in the condo. One in particular is about trash and check-out. In a few different ways, the instructions tell you that you have to remove the trash - but they never tell you where any dumpsters are. Frankly, renting a condo, I don't expect to have to drive my trash to a dumpster but that is what we did. That was kind of like camping. Now that I know how Vacasa does and doesn't work and I have a better idea of the Sea Colony complex, I would rent this condo again - very convenient for exploring Delaware beaches - but if I could give Vacasa a 0 instead of a 1, I would."

Private ground floor apartment w/ veranda leading to backyard water access & trails that lead to Shipwreck mini-golf & ice cream; further up is a playground at John West Park. Through the front door we are a 1/2 mile walk to Grotto Pizza, DiFebo's fine restaurant or Rita's water ice and all that Bethany offers. The getaway is easily accessible to all the outdoor features of water and nature trails, grab a provided kayak, bike or beach chair and make some memories!

The space
The large open kitchenette with island seating, large TV and murphy bed make for a versatile and inviting space that leads out to the veranda. The backyard patio provides seating, table, and a grill for summer or fall cookouts in the serene setting.

Guest access
This apartment is on the ground floor of a house which has 3 floors. The main house is on the 2nd and 3rd floors and it is also rented out. So although you have the entire apartment to yourself, you will be sharing the parking area which has enough space for 6-8 cars in total, the outdoor shower, the bikes/kayaks and the access to the canal. The house deck and apartment patio are separated, so you will not be sharing those spaces.

The space
Sea Colony requires all renters to obtain guest and parking passes from Sea Colony upon arrival. Guest pass prices vary depending on time of year and parking passes are included with the purchase of your guest passes.

Sea Colony guest badges are required for all renters and guests (ages 4 and older). A valid guest badge is required to use any of the recreational facilities and amenities at Sea Colony, including the private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis & pickleball courts, amenities at the West Lake Activity Center and Aquatic Center, Edgewater exercise room, Freeman Fitness Center, and the Sea Colony Tram Transportation System.

Guests will need to proceed to the Sea Colony Beach Shoppe located across Coastal Highway at 33548 Market Place, Bethany Beach, DE to purchase our badges. You will need to show your AirBnB rental agreement to purchase your badges for your stay.

Check in/Check out times are firm, please be completely out of the unit by 10 am and early check-in's cannot be accommodated, that time is needed to ensure our cleaning service can prepare the unit.

You can rent one side or both if you are vacationing with friends or extended family. We are 200 steps to the Ocean with a private beach and we have beautiful bay views from the porch. This is our family beach home and our children grew up spending their summers on Bay Road. It is a very special place to us and I'm sure you will love it too.

The unit has a washer/dryer, Breville Espresso Machine (instructions included :)), Keurig Coffee Maker, Cafe Appliance Microwave, Electric Stove/Oven, Dishwasher. Our brand new fridge features an ice machine and in fridge water (hooray!). Our kitchen is equipped brand new plates, dishes, silverware, kitchen utensils etc. Strong WIFI and cable TV are included.

For families, we have a full size pottery barn kendall crib, portable bed rails, booster, toddler/kid games and books, as well as some pool toys.

Our condo is located on the West side of Sea Colony which is ~0.5 miles to Sea Colony's private beach. In the summer months, Sea Colony has 3 trams operating from (9am to 8:30pm) to take guests from our unit to the beach. There is a tram stop directly outside our unit. The tram has a downloadable app, so you cna follow tram times. There are 12 heated pools (both indoor and outdoor) available for guest use in Sea Colony including one that is a 2 minute walk from our condo. At the Aquatics Center (4 min bike ride, 10 min walk), there is a brand new splash pad and water slide. The main tennis facility offering group clinics and lessons is a 5 minute walk from our unit. Pickleball courts and a playground are also a 5 minute walk from our unit.

The town of Bethany Beach is less than 1 mil from Sea Colony and has a boardwalk, fantastic restaurants, mini golf, ice cream, bookstore, shopping and playgrounds. There is a also small shopping center about 0.5 mil from our condo with restaurants, surf shop, ice cream shop, Candy Kitchen, and bike rental.

Additional Items:
The Sea Colony Recreational Association requires a per person resort fee for guests ages four years old and older. This fee varies by time of year and is mandatory to access the pools, recreation facilities AND the Sea Colony private beach. For the 2025 Season Guest Badge Fees are:
