Ahhhhh, Chincoteague Island - the smell of Salt Marsh in the air - the visions of our Wild Ponies wandering through the Refuge. Once you visit our beautiful Island, it stays with you forever. But life is so busy - it's hard to get away for a whole week every year, isn't it? Or maybe you're one who prefers to take many shorter trips over the course of the year - a Weekend Warrior, if you will? If so, the Assateague Inn was made for you. Whether you'd like to visit for 3 nights or 11, we're here to make your time in Paradise as memorable as possible.

Our Studio Suites have a Private Bedroom with queen size bed, and a separate living room with queen sleeper sofa. There is also a spacious Full Bath, and a Kitchenette fully equipped with cookware and dishes, 2 burner stove top, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster and eating area! Our Studio Suites accommodate up to five guests. Relax in the AC and enjoy Flat Screen Cable TV and Free WiFi after a fun-filled day on the Beach, or slip out to the refreshing Pool to cool off.

Nice view of the marsh from the pier/dock. Would have been nice if the grasses in front of the unit had been cut. Pool was good. Unit could use a little updating, as well as the pool and the picnic tables on the pier should be replaced; they are falling apart and covered with mold, but other than that, no complaints"

We offer a personalized kayak tour to see the ponies, dolphins, a diverse variety of birds, marine species private beach, viewing NASA launch site Fee $75 per person, up to 2 guests. We look forward to helping you make your visit a memorable one! Under no circumstances will kayaks be allowed to go out on check out day. You must wear life jackets that are provided. for your convenience. Roku, Disney, HBO, Netflix, Amazon Parmount and local network television is available in the living room and master bedroom. The bed in the master bedroom has three inches of Aloe built into the top. Enjoy your first cup of coffee in front of the fireplace or on the screened porch along with breakfast. There you can view the horses across the lane. From both the front and back of the house there are a approximately four steps. Guests will have complete sole access to the kitchen, living room, screen porch, sun porch, fenced in back yard with grill and swimming pool. There is music to relax to while swinging in the hammock chairs on the front porch (two provided) Two full size hammocks are available in the back yard. Presently we do not have a handicap entrance but will be striving to accommodate with a ramp as soon as time allows. Thank you for reading about our guest access. We are centrally located on a private quiet residential lane and are in close proximity to all that the island has to offer. The historical town of Chincoteague with its quaint shops will give you the feeling that you have gone back in time. Our house is a short drive or bicycle ride to historical downtown. Chincoteague wildlife refuge and the beach on Assateague Island are within five miles. For your convenience a clamming rake (1 only), crabbing nets (4), fishing surf poles (2) Along with beautiful sunsets there is much to appreciate here on this beautiful land across the water. PLEASE NOTE: NO DOGS ARE PERMITTED ON ASSATEAGUE BEACH. Historical downtown offers a sidewalk to walk dogs and there are walking trails as well as a park. We are here to help you and make any recommendations for restaurants and things to do!The back yard is fenced in and our two collies spend much time there.

Pet fees are $45 for each pet. Payment is due at check in.
Please do not leave the house without crating your pet if you plan to be away for a few hours. We can provide a crate if necessary. We can also walk your pet for a small fee providing that they are leash trained. They can remain in the fenced in yard. In the past we have found that most of the time the dog misses the owner and has responded by jumping our 4 foot fence or cries at the door. Therefore we DO NOT recommend it. Dogs are NOT permitted at the beach on Assateague on the Virginia side. You can travel to Assateague on the Maryland side where they are allowed. This is approximately a 45-minute drive.

Pets must be treated for fleas and ticks.
All pet feces must be picked up. We do have pooper scoopers.

- "The apartment is very nice though very basic. While not low budget, the lack of niceties made it feel that way. Very close to everything for pony swim day! Unfortunately that meant tons of road noise starting at 4 am!! The entry door needs cleaned- it’s covered in black mold. The bamboo at the road creates a dangerous situation every time we would drive out as you can not see anything without pulling out. The minuscule soap and shampoo in the shower could have been bigger. One roll of paper towels would have been nice. Toilet paper - come on. Don’t buy the cheapest thinnest worthless toilet paper. A curved shower curtain rod on a regular shower led to difficulty in keeping water off the floor. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Would we stay again- not at this rental. "
