Enjoy this newly renovated cottage on main street in chincoteague va. In the center of downtown coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, etc. Cottage contains all the simple comforts of home. A great inexpensive get-a-way for a couple or small family. Cottage includes kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave, full bed with pull out couch, separate room for bathroom, tv with dvd player and remote control adjusted heat / air conditioning.

- "This is small but worked for two adults. Bed for two and pull-out couch." - "This place is a cozy one room cottage that is situated behind the main house. It offers the simplicity of one bed, one sofa, one bathroom (with shower stall) and a small kitchenette with a dining table. It's located conveniently just off Maddox and Main, which is literally as soon as you get off the bridge to Chincoteague Island. It's perfect for those who only need a small space and don't want to share a large B&B style house with other guests. And the biggest bonus is the coffee and pastry shop ("Amarin") directly next door. That place has amazing croissants, pastries and coffee. Being able to walk next door to get breakfast there every day is priceless. I was considering giving 4 out of 5 stars for one reason: on our last day of our 3-day stay the water was shut off. I called the owner and he sincerely apologized and explained that there was a plumbing problem at the main house which resulted in the water to both the main house and cottage being shut off temporarily for repairs. Now some people will cry and claim they've suffered immeasurable mental anguish and want to be compensated millions of dollars for their pain and suffering, and then leave a one star review. But the reality is stuff like this happens. It's even happened in our own house, so we get it. The owner Rodney addressed the issue and within 15 minutes of my call to him we had water again. I'd say that's excellent customer service and deserves 5 stars. We would stay here again."

Adorned in Sunny Yellow and Nautical Blue, it’s such a bright and cheerful space. Down the Hall, Bedroom 2 has a comfortable Queen Bed, and is decorated with cheerful Shabby Chic Style.

- "Great outdoor space a d central location. Super clean. Stairs are narrow and bathroom is downstairs with bedrooms upstairs, would need to know that if stairs are an issue for guests" - "This is a very old home that is very well taken care of. Everything was very clean and the furnishings were comfortable and roomy. It might be helpful post on the description that the ceilings are low and anyone close to 6 feet has to duck through doorways. Not included on the site description is check-in time of 4 pm and check-out at 10 which is not the industry standard. We were advised that we would be contacted if we could check in earlier. Past the house at 2, no sign of cleaners, same at 3 and 3:30 but waited until 4 because a notice said we could be fine $100 if we arrived early. Sign on frig said checkout was 9. Utensils seemed like children's - they were very small. Pillows on couch in porch lacked pillowcases; one was from Holiday Inn. Since we are frequent VRBOs, we find that hair dryers are always available but not here. There was a very thin blanket on the bed; others were available but a sign said if you use them, you must wash and return to the bin they were stored in."

From Sunday to Thursday, can we book now and pay in April?" - "We spent a long (three-night) weekend in Chincoteague, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Christine is a fabulous host, and the house is in a great location, very convenient to both "downtown" Chincoteague, the wildlife refuge, and Curtis Merritt Harbor (where many of the tour boats are located). Both the lower level screened porch and the upper level un-screened deck are great places to relax in the morning or evening - you can watch birds flying around the marsh, and the front garden is a pollinator haven! Christine provides great instructions and basic info about Chincoteague, and is quick to respond to questions."

Our creekside-cottage is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.

The cabin includes:
- 3 bedrooms (four beds total)
- A large backyard with stone patio, fire pit, and grill
- Direct creek access with daily visits from herons, egrets, and other coastal wildlife
- Beautiful front sunroom and back screened-in-porch offering two locations perfect for relaxing on a sunny day
- Fast WiFi that's good enough to stream movies and hold video calls
- Fully-stocked kitchen with a stove/oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee bar

The backyard and creek are great for spending time outside. Please do know that after rains, the yard may be wet. Also, if you'll be spending time at the creek, many of our guests find bug-repellent helpful. This comes with the territory of being coastal and having a creek, of course!

Linens -- including bedsheets and towels -- are included! (Yes, we think it’s weird no one else seems to do this. We want you to relax and enjoy yourself.) :)

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

Beyond the cottage itself, we love how close we are to Assateague Island and National Seashore -- less than a 15 minute drive. Explore the miles of hiking trails, relax on the beach, and view the wild ponies! On your way to/from the beach, you’ll drive through cute little downtown Chincoteague with great shops, cafes, restaurants.

Summer's Sea Shanty is a delightful Chincoteague coastal cottage that’s perfect for couples, families, or small groups of friends.

We've worked hard to make this the ideal modern day beach retreat. This home boasts screened in front and back porches, a fire pit, an open/functional floor plan. We're pet and kid friendly with luxury linens and rugs and dish ware... We're proud to be the best of the best on the island. We're centrally located and minutes from Assateague National Seashore.

The space
We’re a block off Main Street with peck-a-boo bay views and within 1/4-mile of the Chincoteague Carnival Grounds. Our home is a historic Sears Homart Home which we’ve worked hard to respect the historical integrity of the home while making it feel like cozy modern day cottage. This is our family beach home and to ease the process of traveling back and forth for ourselves the home will come equipped with a high chair, pack and play, a handful of baby toys, etc. We provide luxury towels and bedroom linens (There are no linen fees required!). DOGS ARE WELCOME (which is rare on the island) WITH $100 PET FEE. Let us know when making your reservation so that we know to pass on the pet rules and schedule cleaning accordingly. We’re excited to share our home away from home with you. There is a washer in the kitchen (Weird. I know but also oddly convenient.), but there is no dryer access.
