Relax on the front porch after your day in the sun or in the Adirondack chairs in the back yard sand. This light and airy retreat comfortably sleeps two, Fully furnished large upstairs bedroom has a queen size bed, dresser and armoire. Downstairs consists of the living area, kitchen, dining area, bathroom and closet space. Kitchen is completely stocked with coffee pot, microwave, stove and all dishes and pans needed to cook your own meal. Sheets and bath towels are supplied.

This small cottage is perfect for two adults, a great romantic getaway. The Cottage is not good for tall people - you need to watch your head on the stairs and on the top of the door between the kitchen and the main room. Upstairs is one queen bed, downstairs is the main room, small kitchen, and bathroom. The Cottage is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is very charming with its own outdoor eating terrace. The owner's house is also on the property. The cottage is not suitable for children or animals, it is compact and has a small refrigerator. It is an easy walk, 6 blocks, into the historic town of Lewes, and there are plenty of great and varied restaurants nearby. The beach is a five minute car ride or an 18 minute walk. TV and Wi-Fi are provided.
The Cottage is on King's Highway so there is some noise from the road - a white noise sleep machine is provided.

There’s a reason why it has a 5-star rating and is fully booked for the entire summer season. It is very comfortable and well maintained. We had a great time staying here. It was also nice to have two separate toilets. :) The kitchen refrigerator is small, so there’s limited food storage if you plan to cook a lot. But, with so many great restaurants and a local market with pre-made food nearby, there’s really no need to do much cooking. The Keurig was also well stocked for coffee lovers. As others have shared, the cottage is on a busy street and if you leave the windows open you can be awakened by trucks that start driving the road early in the morning. But with them closed there is little noise. The bed was also a bit stiff for my liking, but the pillows and duvet comforter were super comfy and soft. I hope we have the chance to return next summer!"

Parking for 2 vehicles is available and FREE! If you absolutely need more parking we will do our best to work with you. It may require some coordination so please message me PRIOR TO YOUR CHECKIN day.

We LOVE dogs. Friendly, well behaved and "potty-trained" dogs are welcome for a fee. However, the house is on a well traveled road so we don't advise leaving your pets outside (even in the fenced in area unattended). NO CATS please.

We have 4 beach chairs available and a few beach toys for the kids! Don’t worry about taking up the extra space in your car.

The cottage is best suited for 4 guests but additional patrons are negotiable. (Bathroom access is through either bedroom.)

Our guests have access to this entire cottage. There is a nice sized deck attached to the front of the house where meals can be enjoyed in addition to inside. You are also welcome to the FENCED-IN yard that connects to the house allowing you to engage in games, lounging or playing with kids or pets.

Please do not wander into any neighboring yards or the back of the property. You have access to the areas immediately surrounding the house. The road to the cottage side of the driveway, back to the parking area, and within the fence over to the fence line.

A code is provided upon arrival for access during your stay.

Most likely you won’t see us during your stay. We will be around but usually like to leave you be. All the neighbors are very friendly so please be kind back:)

Trash day is Tuesday so if you’re around during the week, you may see & hear someone rolling the cans to and from the road (past the cottage) on Monday nights and Tuesdays afterwards.

The Driveway is shared by possible renters in a separate dwelling, our next door neighbors, and you! Please be thoughtful when loading, unloading, using uber/lyft, and informing delivery drivers.

Our home is on a cut through road making it very convenient to go anywhere!

Parking is free at the cottage but we recommend downloading the "Park Mobile" App for public parking in downtown Lewes, Rehoboth and Dewey Beach. Using Uber or Lyft is a great way to get around and can eliminate the parking situation all together. The State Park entry fee is $8 (DE Plates) or $10 (out of state) for the day.

We are very close to the bike/walking trails that extend from Georgetown (Northwest of us) to Rehoboth (South). No matter what your biking level the distance will prove to be enjoyable although you won't find any hills on your route (you're best bet is the Great Dune in the Lewes side of the State Park). We suggest jumping in the car for 2 minutes and parking in the lot behind Old World Breads to safely access the trail.

We have a large garden in a separate fenced-in area adjacent to your fenced in yard. Don’t be alarmed if you see us or some helpers coming and going in the garden area. Their entrances are not connected to the house or your fence.

(There may be normal household hazards such as blind pull cords within reach of small children, and no outlet safety covers to name a few. Nothing out of the ordinary.)

This charming cottage is a great romantic getaway. It is cozy and an easy walk into the historic town of Lewes ~ many great restaurants are nearby. Lewes is a fascinating & historic town with so much to do: biking, canoeing, birding, beach time, museums, and more. The doors of the Cottage have low head jams and the stairs are compact. There is some noise from the nearby road ~ a white noise machine is provided. The cottage is compact, the refrigerator for the Cottage is a small one.

The cottage has Lewes charm and is very comfortable. The Cottage is not suitable for children, animals, or tall people. There is some noise from the nearby road.

Please know that we have two dogs who (like dogs do) bark when startled ... we will keep them way away from you and make every attempt to quiet them. Other than that, our home is a quiet place and a wonderful retreat for your vacation spot! Should we ever hinder your peaceful stay in our home with any interruptions on our end, please be in touch immediately and we will be more mindful and quiet.

Hetty's House is a two bedroom one full bathroom home on a single level. The kitchen is fit-out with everything you will need for meal preparation; pots and pans, spices and a new appliance package. Keurig single cup coffee maker with a variety of coffee and tea-pods provided. The home has a washer/dryer, detergent, iron, and steamer for guest use. There is a small deck leading down to a patio with a propane grill, fire-pit and outdoor dining table. Please note, guests must provide their own bed linens (1 queen, 1 full, 1 twin) and bath/beach towels.

Guest access
You will have exclusive use of the entire property aside from the locked owners closet in the hallway and the outdoor shed. We provide a unique code to the electronic keypad on the day of check-in.

Other things to note
**LINENS AND TOWLES ARE NOT PROVIDED.** Primary renter must be at least 25 years of age, no third party bookings. Weekly discounts for bookings 7 nights or longer. Professional cleaning services are scheduled between stays. There is also an adult sized cot (ideal for toddlers) and a pack n' play available for guest use. Home is located in a quiet residential area, please be respectful of our neighbors. Guests are not permitted to use the rope swing.

The space
Tastefully decorated coastal beach house with 2 King and 1 Queen Bedrooms and fun bunk room for 6 kids, a private, fully enclosed, and carefully landscaped back yard with picnic table and fire pit area, a fully enclosed spacious outdoor shower. Two hundred steps to the beach and to ice cream. We provide beach gear for 12 people, a small kayak, and two Stand Up a Paddle Boards (summer only). Fully equipped kitchen. PARKING: You can fit 3-4 cars in front of the house. There is no parking ANYWHERE else on Midland Ave where you will not be towed, including neighbors driveways There is free, municipal parking just a 5 min walk from the house. Search "Otis Smith Park, Lewes" to find the municipal lot. It also has chargers for EVs.

BEACH GEAR: During the summer season there is lots of beach equipment for guest use, including chairs, umbrellas, a beach cart, and toys and shovels. There are also two SUPs and a small kayak.

AMENITIES: Bedding, bath, and beach towels are provided. We continue get great feedback from guests on how well the house is equipped and stocked. You will find paper towels, toilet paper, bath tissue etc to get you started. If your stay in longer than 2-3 days or your party is large, please bring more. The kitchen is fully equipped and there are usually spices and basic cooking supplies. You should find wood for a bonfire in the firewood rack in the back, kindling on the porch, gas for the grill, filters for the coffee pot etc.

FIRE PIT and QUIET HOURS: If you use the fire pit please do not leave the fire unattended. Please use the nearby hose to extinguish it. Also, we ask that guests observe the 10pm quiet hours out of respect for our neighbors.

A newly renovated, immaculate 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home with a vaulted ceiling large family room, flat screen television, open kitchen, downstairs master bedroom with king size bed, and lots of room. Just steps to the beach on a very quiet street. New appliances, bedding, and furniture have also been added. Please note that sheets and towels are not provided but can be rented closeby. A beautifully furnished vaulted ceiling living room has a large flat screen TV, ample seating, wine refrigerator and antique table for family gatherings. Kitchen has Quartz countertops and natural wood island with 4 bar stools are ideal for morning breakfast. Kitchen has coffee maker, toaster and blender. Dishes, flatware and glassware are provided. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms and a newly renovated bathroom. There is back deck with lounge chairs for relaxation along with gas grill and outdoor shower. Also the sound of a fish pond with live fish is immediately off the deck.
