Welcome to Doylestown, voted one of the most beautiful towns in Pennsylvania! Our Artist Cottage is a charming 275 sqft space next to the courtyard behind our nineteenth-century Farmhouse. It is ideal for 2 guests on a weekend getaway. The Cottage has a full bathroom with a shower (no tub) and a small, but sweet, kitchen. There is no stove or oven, but we have equipped it with all you'll need. There is a mini fridge, a sink, a convenient stainless steel work counter, a microwave, a toaster, and a coffee/tea maker. We have dishes, utensils, a watercolor painting station, cool art books, and a Liberty puzzle for your enjoyment. The courtyard features a sitting area, small gardens, and a water feature, the perfect respite in mild weather. The Artist Cottage can be exchanged for guest points separately from our Farmhouse.

Located in the middle of our little English village is your romantic one bedroom Gothic cottage. As you walk through the village, you'll feel as though you've stepped back in time and you're now in England 900 years ago. The Gothic Cottage has a Living Room, Bedroom with skylight (all fresh bed linens are provided for you), full Kitchen (small) with Spanish tile (kitchen is stocked with all pots, pans and cooking utensils and coffee for the Keurig coffee maker. Full Bathroom that comes complete with fresh towels... for your stay.

Relax And Enjoy: Step down into the sunken Italian garden and enjoy a glass of wine while you watch the sun set. This area has loads of great restaurants, wineries, art galleries, museums, antique stores, live music , theater and cabarets, boat rides, bike trails, old steam engine train rides... Your very own, completely private, Colonial Williamsburg-style Cottage near the Bucks County town of Yardley, Pennsylvania, right on the Delaware River. The Cottage is just 13 miles south of New Hope and Lambertville and 25 minutes from Princeton. New York City is a little over an hour away by train (Amtrak or New Jersey Transit to Trenton). Philadelphia is about 30 minutes by car, or you can take a SEPTA commuter train from Yardley.

The Cottage shares a 3.3-acre riverfront property with our 200-year-old farmhouse. Built by Robert Johnson, a renowned Bucks County cabinetmaker, and furnished with 18th-century reproduction furniture and Oriental rugs, it's ideal for weekend getaways, week-long vacations, writer's retreats, and house-hunting visits. As many of our guests have said, this is the perfect place to unwind.

The Cottage living space (750 square feet, all on one floor) is quite comfortable for two people. But it also works for a family with one child, or for three close friends who don't mind sharing a bathroom. Because the rooms are small and the floor plan is a bit unusual (you walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom), we suggest that you contact us first if you're considering reserving the Cottage for three adults, or for two adults and a teenager.

There's a wonderful corner fireplace in the living room with raised paneling and a custom-built mantel. The eat-in kitchen is small, but quite serviceable. We've equipped it with everything our guests need to make basic meals and snacks.

The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size canopy bed. The "Tavern Room" off the kitchen provides a twin bed for extra sleeping space. (We don't call this a bedroom because it doesn't have doors or a closet. For a bit of privacy, there are blackout curtains at each of the two doorways, and blackout shades at the windows.) We also have a portable Graco crib and child's booster seat that we can have set up and ready for those traveling with an infant or toddler.

THINGS TO DO...

• Visit historic sites such as the Washington Crossing Museum, the Old Barracks in Trenton, and Pennsbury Manor, William Penn's reconstructed home and farm.

• There are lots of award-winning restaurants in historic buildings up and down the river and canal. Most encourage you to bring your own wine or spirits.

• Local farms let you "pick-your-own" berries and apples, and of course, fresh sweet corn, tomatoes, and other home-grown veggies are available from local farm stands, in season. You can kayak, fish, or boat on the Delaware River. (An absolutely fantastic fresh fish market is just a mile down the road. They will gut and filet your choice while you wait.)

• Princeton, the Princeton battlefield, Nassau Hall, and other sites are only minutes away. (Don't miss the Princeton University Art Museum -- a truly impressive collection, wonderfully presented -- and the University Chapel with its magnificent stained glass windows.)

• For a more kid-friendly experience, Sesame Place is just 10 minutes away. Or you can rent a rowboat, kayak, or paddleboat at Core Creek Park and enjoy the natural surroundings of Lake Luxembourg. If you're feeling especially adventurous, drive north about 45 minutes to Point Pleasant and 'River Country' for tubing, canoeing, kayaking, and rafting. (The company's buses pick you up at the down-river destination and drive you back to your car.)

• For woodland walks and non-stressful hiking, there is Tyler Park in Newtown and the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve on River Road just south of New Hope.

• And speaking of New Hope, it's a great place to stroll and to 'people-watch.' But you can also take in a show at the acclaimed Bucks County Playhouse, or catch a ride into the countryside aboard the New Hope-Ivyland Railroad, a classic steam locomotive.

• And don't miss Lambertville, the town directly across the river from New Hope. Art galleries, antique shops, great restaurants, the Golden Nugget flea market just down the road... Lambertville is well worth the walk across the New Hope-Lambertville bridge.

Other things to note
We understand many people inquire about the ability to check in early or check out late and we have tried to accommodate this over the years but have found that given the time the cleaners need to do a thorough job between guests - especially during the pandemic - we are asking all guests to respect the posted check-in and check-out times. That said, you are always welcome to leave your vehicle in the driveway / lot (as there is plenty of room) while you head into town prior to or after checkout.

The ceilings in the cottage are low. Individuals over 6'0" may feel uncomfortable as the ceiling heights vary through the cottage between 6'5" and 7.0".

There are two hybrid bicycles located in the shed on the side of the cottage and helmets located in the utility closet in the kitchen. Feel free to use - the tow path along the Delaware River (both on the NJ and PA sides is a beautiful, flat ride. Recommend the New Hope to Frenchtown ride for scenery and nice workout.

The TV is a little quirky in that sometimes it will say "no signal". If this happens, slide the cable box out and tighten the connections in the back and it should work fine. The TV input should be set to HDMI 1.

Also, I am not on site and manage the property remotely. It is easy to reach me on my mobile or via the app and most things I can sort out from a distance.

The space
This 100-year-old cottage has the rustic feel of days past, outfitted with hard wood floors, handmade tiles, and aged brick, paired with every amenity for your modern-day needs.

The cottage has a queen-sized bed in the upstairs loft, with an additional king-sized pullout couch in the living room. There is a small set of stairs leading to the charming upstairs loft. If you don't feel comfortable walking up the staircase to the bedroom loft, we recommend using the very comfortable pullout couch in the living room instead (bedding provided in armoire).

The living room also has a fireplace stocked with unlimited wood, a large TV, and a workspace. Enjoy the blooming orchid and the fragrant candles.

The bathroom includes a jacuzzi tub and an array of personal care products such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, shampoo & conditioner, soaps, lotion, bath salts, safety pins, shaving cream, spray deodorant, etc.

The kitchen is fully equipped for any cooking and washing needs. We have everything from pots and pans, to olive oil and an array of spices. We provide a Keurig, Nespresso, and drip coffee machine - all coffee and pods are supplied. The refrigerator is always stocked with half & half, bottled water, and Pellegrino. On the counter you will find artisanal snacks, oatmeal, and my famous homemade walnut-chocolate chip-banana bread.

The cottage has its own terrace sheltered by a lush, vine-swept pergola - a great place for morning coffee or evening wine & cheese.

There is a washer and dryer in the basement with all laundry supplies provided.

The Property
The cottage is situated on a 3 and a half acre estate that has a main house and another guest house. Enjoy waking up surrounded by the beauty and tranquility that our green setting provides. Our extensive gardens have been featured in magazines and on garden tours.

The Location
Although the cottage is located on a quiet road, it is just a 3 minute drive into the heart of downtown New Hope. We do NOT recommend walking into town from the cottage. The area is a thriving destination due to its proximity to Peddler’s Village, Lambertville, and the countless river towns that line both sides of the scenic Delaware River. Whether you enjoy shopping, antiquing, hiking, wineries, live music, strolling or biking along towpaths, eating at new restaurants, or seeing a show at our historic Bucks County Playhouse, this quaint area offers something enjoyable for everyone. The cottage is right down the street from Bowman’s Wildflower Preserve, Washington’s Crossing State Park, and the walkable Canal Tow Path.

Guests have their own private entrance, driveway, terrace, and patio. Guests are welcome to enjoy the views of the property from the cottage area, as well as our honey bee hive in the distance. The pool and hot tub are not part of the AirBnB stay.

My charming cottage sits on three acres in the middle of 38 acres of fields & forests. If you value a peaceful, rustic setting, then my cottage is the place for you to enjoy nature and explore the surrounding area. At anytime, you may see deer, fox, groundhogs, wild turkeys or squirrels scampering across the lawn. The cottage has a washer & dryer, electric heat, A/C & WIFI, a separate bedroom with queen bed, two large closets, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker.

The space
The cottage, which has new wall- to-wall carpeting, is 5 miles from New Hope, Lambertville and Peddlers Village, where many restaurants, antique shops and galleries can be found. I am 1/2 mile from access to the 60 mile long towpath for walking and bicycling. The cottage is suitable for only two persons. No friends or guests, pets, children, parties, smoking or drugs of any kind are permitted on the property. The cottage is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. No burning of incense. No loud music or noises. Please understand that the grounds, walkways and driveway are uneven at any given time due to the shifting of the earth.

Guest access
Because I do not own all 38 acres, and the owner does not allow trespassing, guests will only have access to my mowed property. The area directly around my home is, understandably, also off limits.

Other things to note
My driveway is 1/10 of a mile long. If we get a lot of snow in the winter, it may be icy. I would let you know the condition of the driveway ahead of time.

This renovated home, dating back to 1900, is located right along the picturesque Delaware Canal, offering stunning views and plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like kayaking and biking. Inside are modern amenities like a new heating/AC system, hardwood floors, a new bathroom, W/D, and a fully equipped kitchen. The loft area features a queen bed and a desk area perfect for remote work. The yard has outdoor seating to enjoy the scenery.

The space
The cottage is complete with a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, cookwear, a dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Climb up the ship ladder to the bedroom with a queen bed and ample linens, along with a private desk area perfect for working remotely, writing or drawing. It is very steep and anyone with mobility issues should be aware of this layout.
We sit on the canal which is currently full.

The main floor has a sofa that is comfortable for one person to sleep (not a sofa bed) with extra linens. The private yard has seating to enjoy the Delaware Canal wildlife. The cottage is a short walk away from the shops and restaurants on Main Street. The cottage has WiFi and a Smart TV, and Roku included.

Note: This is a split level space with safe but steep stairs to the bedroom area and is not suitable for those with ambulatory challenges.

Beautiful cottage with 2 Queen size bed on the 2nd Floor of a Bed & Breakfast located in the heart of New Hope. Private bathroom with tub/shower. This room has its own private access. The room has 1 queen bed downstairs and a lofted area upstairs that also has another queen bed. Amenities including a Keurig, T.V., shampoo and all other bathroom needs are provided. Nestled along the Aquatong Stream and a 10 min walk to the center of town, this historic retreat has a true Tuscan feel. Its lush surroundings provide peace and serenity. The property is adjacent to The Ruins, one of New Hope’s most historic structures. The sleeping loft above the porch (accessible only by a ladder) will be the favorite of any kid or adult. The hammock above the brook is yours to enjoy.
