This rental is situated on a peaceful, Lancaster County family farm tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life. You would be staying in a newly remodeled two-story "summerhouse" that includes modern conveniences without losing the character of the 18th century charm. It is a private home that includes a king bedroom, full bath and loft area on the second floor; a queen bedroom and half-bath on the first floor along with a living/eat-in kitchen area. The summerhouse is located next to the farm house.

You decide how you want to spend your day - "Rest, Relax, Renew". Enjoy fishing in the pond (catch and release, bring your own supplies) while heifers, sheep and goats graze nearby or take a walk down the long farm lane. You will likely see our Amish neighbors walking, pushing scooters or riding in their buggies using the farm lane right beside the cottage. You look out over our gardens and are welcome to sit and relax outdoors in our gorgeous outdoor garden patio.

We are just minutes away from many local attractions. The town of Intercourse is famous for Kitchen Kettle Village and horse and AAA Buggy Rides. We are also close to the Rockvale Square and Tanger Outlets as well as Strasburg Railroad, Sight and Sound Theater and so much more. We are within a few miles of famous Amish cooking restaurants such as Bird In Hand Family Restaurant, Miller’s Smorgasbord, Dienner’s Country Restaurant and Katie’s Kitchen.

The mini kitchenette contains dorm size refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee pot with K cups and creamer/sugar. The bathroom in addition to the oversized corner tub has a shower and commode equipped with a Tushy Bidet. There are several skylights and plentiful windows in the cottage creating a beautiful atmosphere of space and lighting.

As you enter the front door you will have an open floor plan to a living area that has a flat screen TV w/ digital antenna , DVD player, fireplace, and comfortable seating. There is a powder room for convenience. If you enjoy music, there is a radio w/ CD player, and record player. The Kitchen has all that you need: island w/ sink, dishwasher drawer, and seating for 2, large refrigerator, commercial gas range and hood, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, all cooking utensils, and eating necessaries. If you like to cook outside there is a gas grill. Relax in the screened-in room with dining for 2 or read a book or take a nap on the hanging bed. The bedroom and main bath are on the second floor. The Osceola Mill Carriage House is just minutes away from all of the Pennsylvania Dutch attractions yet off the beaten path. This converted horse barn has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen including pots, dishes, coffee maker and K-cup coffee. The private patio with propane grill overlooks the neighbor's farm. The living room is equipped with TV, a DVD player, gas fireplace, and two pull-out sofas that will accommodate 3 additional people. The second floor bedroom has a Queen size bed and a bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The Carriage House is fully air conditioned. The rental includes all linens.

The Carriage House is a wonderful, private space for either couples wanting time away or families with children. The ceilings are fairly low on the second floor - and therefore may not be comfortable for very tall people.

The property is part of the historic Osceola Mill House Bed and Breakfast - a 250 year-old mill owner's mansion on the banks of the Pequea Creek in Lancaster County. Rental of the Carriage House through this site is self-catering, and no meals are provided.

The clean, comfortable cottage overlooked the neighboring Amish farm (my 9 month old loved seeing the mama cow and her calf pass by!) The location was great, all the attractions we wanted to see were 15 minutes away or less. It offers breathtaking views of the river along the way as well as plenty of shade as you roll along. With a wonderful picnic area and information about the County’s riverland region, theColumbia Crossing River Trails Centerprovides a great starting place for your adventure.

If you preferhikingwe recommend a visit toChickies Rock Park. With two overlooks, visitors can take in the incredible vistas of the Susquehanna River. There are also pavilions, picnic areas, and ball fields available- plan to make a day out of it! Rock climbers can often be seen scaling the rock faces along the trail. You can also head over toPinnacle Point Overlook, which offers stunning views of the Susquehanna. The safe harbor trestle bridge just opened this summer , if you like hiking etc you truly need to check it out. Just a side note , some cell phones will not have service as we are down in the hollow , but you do have service on top of the hill . There is a landline phone free to use and we do have wifi . Rainy day? We have a 32" infinity 1 up game table that offers tons of electronic games ..hours of entertainment for children and adults alike . Any questions or concerns feel free to contact us. The owner lives in the lower level (semi-basement) of the house. She will be available if needed, but otherwise will respect the privacy of her guests.

Our 1936 craftsman cottage is a beautiful quaint and cozy space for smaller families. It has a sunny full eat in kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and porcelain tile floors. Hardwood floors in the main living area, along with a full bath and laundry facilities . There are 13 steps up to the 2nd level which hosts 2 lovely bedrooms and a 1/2 bath in between. New portable a/c units are in each bedroom.
There are air filtration units that cleanse and purifies each level of the cottage - keeping the air crisp, cool and clean. ( same technology used on the space station)
To access the lower level rec area, and side bedroom, one enters through the door under the archway from the main level. There are 9 steps to the lower level exposed stone rec room. Watch your head as this property has unique arches and a more narrow entrance to the lower level. A family sitting area with a foos ball table and a side bedroom area with a queen size air mattress provides some extra space and an extra bed- just in case you need it.
The mature trees in the back yard provide privacy and shade- you will see the birds, bunnies, and squirrels. We love the back deck area- especially at sunrise.
A children’s playhouse, with a sandbox awaits the guests who have littles.
We love hosting this cottage and we hope you find your stay here restful and enjoyable.
P.s. Our cottage is within 20 mins to downtown Lancaster, 20 mins to Amish country, 30 minutes to Hershey and within 10 mins to route 222. There are farm markets, local grocery stores, and gas stations within 5-10 mins drive time. Sidewalk community, the Lititz walking/biking trail is within 1 mile. Local community park/pool is 2 blocks walking distance from the cottage.
The community pool is within 2 blocks walking distance. It has a children’s area with water slide and splash mushrooms/buckets, a larger swimming area and a lap pool at the lower level. Rates are posted on the cork board for guests.
Ask about monthly rates! We do welcome longer stays with a signed contract!

Upon arriving at this beautiful, peaceful home you will feel connected to nature. Roam the many paths, fish the pond, sit around the campfire, or curl up in the window seat with a good book. Our favorite way to end the day is to sit on the bench down by the pond and watch the sunset with its beautiful colors. Don't be surprised if you wake up in the morning to find deer in the backyard. Inside the home you will find everything you need for a relaxing stay. The Cottage is connected to our home by the laundry room. You will have plenty of privacy but are connected to the main house. The stairs to the second floor are also steep so if you have mobility issues you are more than welcome to set up the air mattress on the first floor if need be!
