The only negative is the garbage that washes up on the beach. It’s not a factor at the hotel as they clean the beach but very noticeable when walking away from property. After our brief shuttle to ferry and ferry to another shuttle, the district had staff on both ends that carried our luggage and escorted us past all the madness of people trying to figure out what they were doing. They drove us to the resort which is right on the beach and they carted all our luggage down a long path from the road. Wasnt an easy task, so I definitely appreciate all the help from the staff, cuz it would have been a pain in the butt to do ourselves! As for our stay, the staffs great, very helpful and friendly. The buffet food was pretty good for what it was, not a whole lot of options but it was worth it. Floor was a little slippery around the property when it would rain, almost fell on my butt a couple times, it my Sandals just didn’t have grip. Not their fault. Overall, it was a great experience and I would go back. "

Very comfortable and well thought-through room arrangements, (2) hotel staff are super pleasant and eager to help, (3) transportation from and to the Caticlan Airport (both bus shuttles and boat transfers) superbly arranged, (4) the beach is gorgeous, and there are several restaurants within easy walking distance on the beach. The hotel provided free shuttle to some areas on the island, including D’ Mall. All in all, Boracay is a beautiful island and I would not hesitate to stay at Discovery Shores Boracay again if my travels bring me back to Boracay sometime in the near future."

I have celiac disease which is not easy to accommodate but chef Stanley came to ask me what I wanted at every meal and then made me gluten free safe food so I never got sick and ate well. All guides especially Anton who I interacted with a lot were so attentive to needs and were proactive in pointing out wildlife and sharing facts as well as bringing all the supplies you needed for the day. I can’t say enough good things about Anton. The guides also paddled the tandem kayak for me twice while I just sat - it was ideal! They took pictures and were so professional and kind. Another guide Ryan aLeo assisted with the kids in our group. Beyond the people, the actual island and surrounding area were beautiful. It felt like a movie it was so unreal. We did the complimentary (other than $200 php lagoon fee) resort organized private tours each day and it was a short boat ride to each. This was the most incredible and relaxing trip. I hope to be back. There was an issue at the end with our Airswift flight off el Nido back to Manila getting cancelled because the small propeller planes don’t have modern technology and can’t fly through haze, which was stressful to be stuck and unable to get back to the resort at night after the cancellation, so just beware of Airswift limitations as a small airline and try to have a day buffer in case you get trapped on the island like we did, even though they say that’s a rare occurrence. It was pretty gross and if they’d just spend 30 minutes and use some cleanser and bleach the place would be fine. The living room is spacious and clean, the TV/Wi-Fi works well. The AC is particular but works. One unit in the living room did not work but if you crank both bedrooms and the other AC unit in the living rooms you get pretty good AC every where. But once you close your bedroom doors, the single working living room AC unit struggles a bit. But it’s not the worst. The refrigerator is good, the cooking equipment is beat up but functional.
