This location is fairly new and is only about a 10 minute drive from the school and their main area where all of the restaurants are. I would stay here again if I am ever back in the area. I reserved an evolution room and didn't realize that is was a handicapped accessible room but it was spacious and I didn't mind. Friendly service from the front desk work and maintenance crew. The hotel was clean. My only issue was the fact that I could tell the floor in our room hadn't been vacuumed. All in all, it was a pleasant stay at a reasonable rate."

- "My family of 5 decided to take a last minute trip to Boone Speedway and found Staybridge Suites. It seemed to be the best bang for your buck out of the surrounding hotels, even airbnbs. The property was clean and quiet. The beds were phenomenal. Its the first time Ive woke up in a hotel without my neck and back hurting. The showers do take a little longer than normal to warm up, but no big deal there. The pool is in its own building just outside the back door and it has a really nice back patio. We spent time there sitting around the firepit. The staff was kind and welcoming. We'll be staying there again next year. "

Designed for those guests whose needs are simple, these two connected sleeping rooms are clean, private and super economical. There is no full kitchen but a fridge and small appliances. There is a 3/4 bathroom used only by this unit, but it is across the common hall and not inside the unit. This unit can sleep up to three single persons, there are 3 beds in two bedrooms. Coin op laundry in basement, elevator, 24/7 surveillance cameras in common areas.

Originally built as a bank, this building has been converted to both short term and long term stays.

The space
NEW FOR 2025! We have adjusted our hosting plan to eliminate the "shared bathroom" concept. If you book one of our rooms, the other room automatically is blocked, and the bathroom is all yours! If you book both of our rooms, we can reasonably assume you don't mind the common bathroom with your friends/family. No more strangers in the other room that you have to share the bathroom with.

Our home is situated conveniently to all parts of Ames and the ISU Campus, as well as to US Hwy 30 and I-35. Plentiful street parking right in front of our house. We do live and work here, and we welcome you to share the beauty and space of our home. Please be understanding as you pass through Penny's workspace in the spacious front room of the house.

It will be a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive to either Downtown Ames or Iowa State University. CyRide bus stop mere steps away from our front door. Walking/Bike trails to multiple parks nearby.

We are very flexible on all aspects of check-in/check-out; we accommodate many people who are in town for work, for extension classes at ISU, visiting friends, attending sports and entertainment events, etc. We are knowledgeable about Ames and the surrounding area. You will have peace and quiet and space to enjoy your time here. Questions? Please just ask. Communication is key!

Part of our income comes from self-employment activity. Please excuse the use of our front room as a work area. It is such a wonderful room to spend any kind of time in, and works for our purpose. You will always have a clear and well lit path to enter and get to your room.

The two rooms we are hosting for airbnb are in the upper split level of our house, up a flight of carpeted stairs with bannisters. A newly remodeled bathroom is between the two rooms. Bathroom has lock on the door for complete privacy, and hooks for hanging clothes and towel. Rooms are each furnished with desk and office chair with convenient outlets located near the desk and the nightstand.

We charge no extra cleaning fees. The price that we list the room for is the amount we receive minus 3% that we pay airbnb for Host Booking Fee.
