There was almost $300 in taxes and a $155 resort fee that I don't recall was disclosed on the listing until you book. 2) The second bedroom flooded while we were there so we had to allow maintenance to come into the facility and the carpet was all wet there. 3) We had no washcloths, no kitchen towels, and no hotpads. 4) Supplies were limited for a week-long stay. 3 diswasher pods, 2 paper towels, and 2 Toilet paper rolls for each bathroom for the entire week and there were 4 females in our group. 5) Cabinet fronts could use a good wipe down, but other surfaces clean. 6) No pizza cutter (seems like pizza is a pretty common thing to need in an apt. 7) Spatula was all melted at the bottom and pans were pretty scraped up so hard to cook eggs with these."

Once turned on, we were back to nothing because there was zero internet. Did a small load of laundry and the water from the washing machine backed up filthy into the bathroom sink. It snowed and froze the sidewalk. No salt or shoveling happened. We slipped and fell twice. Found out the property contact was in New York. If it wasn’t the cold, I bet in the summer there are a ton of bugs. Under the kitchen sink, there is a bunch of sprays and traps. We left a gown in the closet and haven’t heard back how we can get that back."

- "Nice place close to transportation. Quiet and clean" - "The unit was very functional for our party of three, however... Checking in and out was confusing at best. We had uploaded all the information including ID cards well in advance of our arrival when we first booked the reservation. A series of emails ensued, including our having to verify a photo of the 2 towels that had been left for us. They said they'd provide add'l towels but never did. Finally, we received check-out instructions via email directing us to leave the keys on the counter and send them a photo as proof to avoid additional charges. We asked for confirmation via email to ensure we weren't charged for late checkout and never received it despite followup requests. We finally received an email thanking us "for the information" but not confirming anything of substance. "

- "This unit is managed by an offsite property manager who is basically non-responsive. Owners would not communicate at all. It took 1-2 days to hear from property manager about some significant problems - broken cable for internet connection that we figured out how to fix ourselves after two days with no connection, barely any water flowing from bathroom sink, no hot water in kitchen and shower, uncollected garbage that was strewn around parking area, and the list goes on. No items were fixed during the week we were there. We were offered compensation but have received nothing to date. The location was terrific for access to VA Square metro and grocery shopping. Dedicated off street parking is helpful. The unit was clean and modernized but for a three bedroom place, there was only a tiny 2 person dining table, very uncomfortable double futon in living room, and a four person table in the master bedroom. The kitchen is tiny and suitable for two people, but not enough space or supplies for a larger group. Towels were basic and flimsy, and there were no hooks on bathroom walls for hanging. Washer and dryer were new and worked well."

The space
This is a single family home, in a safe neighbohood with free street parking, where I live full time and offer 4 Airbnb rooms. All are respected and welcome here. The rooms are spread over 3 floors, so it doesn't feel crowded. This room is on the 2nd floor, along with one other guest room and my own.
Guests who understand and enjoy hostelling will be happiest here. All bathrooms are shared and kitchen access is allowed. Cooperation, mutual respect and contributing to maintaining a clean, calm and quiet space where all guests can work, rest and enjoy each day are much valued here.

~~Absolutely no cooking allowed in guest rooms.
~~Guests may use the counter space, utensils, toaster, gas oven and stove in the kitchen, which is one floor below guest room, as well as the microwave and toaster oven one floor below kitchen. Host does not allow use of any other appliances without explicit permission.
~~HOURS: Guest use of gas stove/oven is permitted only between from 7 am - 8:30 pm. Preparing coffee/tea, cold cereal, non-heated foods and heating up food in microwave, toaster or toaster oven is OK at any time, but guest must move about as quietly as possible during house quiet hours, which are 10 pm - 7 am
~~NO FRYING! If you find frying foods necessary for your diet or happiness, this is not the place for you. It’s OK to sauté at low/medium heat.
~~Guests are required to continuously monitor any items they are heating.
~~Refrigeration space is available but limited. Please inquire about refrigeration before purchasing perishable groceries to ensure you don't purchase more items than would fit in the refrigeration space available.
~~You may stored dried goods in closed containers/ziploc bags in your room or in the pantry, that is one half flight of stairs down from the kitchen.
~~Guests must have an in-person orientation with me before using the kitchen or kitchenware for the first time. For safety, sanitation, prevention of damage to kitchenware and home, and for the comfort of other guests, host may impose further limitations to kitchen access based on her assessment of guest ability to follow these guidelines.
~~CLEANUP: My Airbnb is hostel-style, with each person responsible for cleaning up after themselves in the kitchen and bath. This means making sure dishes are rinsed and placed in dishwasher after use, unless otherwise instructed by host, pots are washed, dried, returned to storage; counters, stovetop and sink are clear and clean, etc.
~~Host provides EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), salt and pepper.

During your stay
Running my Airbnb in my home is my full-time occupation, and I am often buzzing around inside and outside of my house, working on various projects. If I am not around, and you need assistance or have a concern, please don't hesitate to message me via Airbnb. Text or call me if it's urgent.

WHAT'S THAT SOUND?
You may occasionally hear me chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which is part of my buddhist practice. Beginning in August 2023, there may be gatherings on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 10 am - noon at which folks will be chanting and talking.

Basic private furnished room with single bed, desk , private fridge, gas cooking, washer/dryer included (your soap), shared bathroom UP ONE FLOOR for HALF BATH, UP TWO Floors for Shower. Quiet, safe, neighborhood, very convenient to bus, parks, and supermarket and restaurants. 1.1 miles to Ballston or Virginia Square metro. No offense but do avoid your disappointment and mine, If you have OCD please consider staying at something else. Thank you for reading, I hope you have a blessed trip.

The space
Please, if you are sensitive to minor noises (like refrigerators, washers, doors) or OCD - consider finding an accommodation at another location. No Smoking, no drugs and prefer you wear indoor footwear versus tracking dirt. Please be adult and responsible as others will likely need to get to work or study even you on different hours then they are.

Guest access
Main floor above the Room, has 1000 ft2 of common area, including full size kitchen. washer in basement .. set it to number 14 dryer in upstairs set it to sensidry 3/4 the way ... full and you just way shrink wool and burnout elastic.

Other things to note
Basement toilet is on a sump pump. BASEMENT TOILET is CURRENTLY NOT for USE. HALF BATH up ONE FLOOR, SHOWER up TWO FLOORS. PLease dry before roaming. All the showers have certain heat and flow control at center, AND AND the On / OFF is via a value that is "OFF" when valve is across the upper Shower Arm and "On" when it is in-line with the upper shower arm. Please place in OFF position when done showering.

This room is best suited for a quiet, solo traveler. You have your own bedroom with Queen bed, but sharing bathrooms with other guests. High speed Verizon Fios fiber optic Wi-Fi, over the air HDTV reception, free laundry. Free parking ON the street, bus stop around the corner, metro station is 15 min bus ride away. Kitchen/dining/living room are shared with everyone else in the house.

The space
Our house is mostly covered by hardwood floor and tiles, so we do not recommend walking around bare foot. We suggest that you bring a pair of your own non-slippery slippers to walk around the house.

Full Access to the Kitchen, the Laundry Closet, and the Living Room, one full bathroom with shower, and one half bathroom on the first level.

During your stay
If you like the impersonal hotel stay, you’ll feel right at ‘home’. We are available only when needed. Most likely we are invisible.
