The separate entrance has a coded entry. Off-street parking is available in the driveway. I live upstairs; there is a locked door between the units. I am available for neighborhood information or any challenges. Easy walk to public trans (0.7 mile to metro) and a robust array of markets, dining & shopping options. Two sump pumps run when raining - the upside is it can sound like sleeping near a brook. The ceiling is a reasonable height but be mindful if over 6'.

It is unattached from the main house but the backyard is a shared space. However, the Tiny House has a private fenced-in backyard.

We welcome friendly guests only. If you don't like people or animals, this is NOT the space for you.

Please keep in mind, we have children, a shy cat, and five chickens (hens), that occupy the backyard. We have small gathering and cookouts from time-to-time and will invite you. You are welcome to join us if you're able and feel comfortable.

- "Sometimes VRBOs are stale houses filled with cookie-cutter style and furniture––and this is NOT that. It is so clear that someone once lived in this space, and the style and quality of the place and furnishings reflect that. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were comfy. Everything was as good or better in person than it looked in the photos. The location is awesome. We think it would be reasonable to stay there without a car because it's not a bad walk to the metro station. I walked to a bakery, a coffee shop, and a restaurant from the place as well. Communication with the host was excellent. Maybe it's because we had a somewhat long stay, but she left some food and beverages for us upon our arrival. Much appreciated. The one negative for us was the parking situation. The parking space is behind the house, and you have to walk around the block to get to the entrance at the front of the house. Also, a couple of the doors were maybe a bit too big and would get stuck. But all in all, these things didn't put much of a damper on our experience. We could totally see ourselves staying there again."

One thing we enjoyed during one afternoon was Brookside gardens in Silver Spring. We spent several hours there and found it to be a highlight of places we have enjoyed visiting. One evening we arrived at the apartment after a rain. The path to the door was muddy. We tried to walk down the path without getting in the mud, but on the steep part, it was difficult. I suggest pavers be installed through the yard to the door. The morning we left to return home, the grass was again wet from an overnight rain and our shoes were soaked by the time we walked back and forth loading the car from the apartment. I can say that Edward our host was very good at communicating with us about the correct WIFI password. A mistake had occurred in the VRBO Check list email I received in advance, and as a result we were without cell service and WIFI our first day at the apartment. We will most likely be returning to the area for another family visit, and would be glad to book the apartment again if available. "

- For the health and safety of all guests and neighbors, smoking of any kind (including marijuana and cigarettes) is not permitted inside or outside of my home. If you are a smoker, I kindly ask you to look for another Airbnb listing that accommodates your needs. If you violate this rule, you will be charged a $250 fine. Please also respect the building and do not smoke in front of it. If you need to smoke, please walk down the street and dispose of your cigarette butts properly.


- To maintain the peace and quiet of the neighborhood and the building, parties are not allowed in this property. If you host a party, your reservation will be cancelled immediately.



- Please clean up after yourself after cooking and take out your garbage regularly. This will help keep the kitchen tidy and prevent pests and odors. You can find garbage bags and bins in the apartment.


- Please be careful with your key and do not lose it. If you lose your key, you will have to pay $100 to get it replaced. If you get locked out of your room it cost $50 to unlock the room door. 


- Please be considerate of other guests and neighbors and minimize noise levels during quiet time hours (12:00a.m - 8:00 a.m.). Specifically, talk in a low voice in your room; keep TV volume low; refrain from playing music loud and minimize foot-traffic in and out of the house after 11:00 p.m. If this is too restrictive for your lifestyle, I kindly ask you to reconsider this listing and look for another one that suits you better
