We looked in the linen closet for hand towels, extra blankets, and bath towels and the closet looked like a college frat house. Towels and extra sheets were just thrown in there, we were not sure if the linens were clean or dirty so we did not feel comfortable using them. The host was quick to answer questions but did not provide the correct Wi-Fi password and took about a day to reply with the correct password. The back porch could use some repair, would not recommend children on the porch. "

Best way we have found to see DC, is via Train in and with a narrated bus tour when you arrive. Will save you tons of unnecessary walking, but getting in/out is quite enjoyable to boot when traveling on the VRE.

Taking the Manassas Line from Manassas Station to Washington Union Station.

Directly in front of Union Station is the Fully narrated "Hop-On-Hop-Off Bus. Their buses circulate to all the major monuments and Museums. One arrives every 15-20 and the ticket is good for 24 hours. You wont miss a thing, you can stay in any site as long as you like. You will save a ton of walking and learn a great deal while you listen to tour guide narrate your journey.

The space
The house is nestled in a quiet neighborhood on a 2.5 acre wooded lot 2 miles from the main road. We have 4 bedrooms—2 with a king size bed and 2 with a full size bed, one of which has an upper single bunk. The couch in the family room can fold out into a full size bed if needed, so there's actually room to sleep 11 people. Also, there is a wood burning stove in the fireplace. If you want to use it, we can provide kiln-dried firewood at a cost, but please don't bring in the firepit wood from outside. There are bugs that make their home in it. The piano in the living room has a cracked sound board, and doesn’t stay tuned. The kitchen is eat-in with double ovens. The master bathroom has a jacuzzi bathtub. Every bedroom has a TV, custom built closets, and is equipped with USB ports for phone charging!

Enjoy this one bedroom with a shared (with other Airbnb Room 2) rustic desk for those working on assignment in town. Just a short walk to VRE (home is next to train) and Old Town Manassas. Quiet home on almost an acre, use of kitchen, yard, sunroom, deck, wifi, alexa, all included. This is room 1 of 3 Airbnb rooms I have in my home.

The house is right next to the train, so you can walk to the VRE commuter train. You will mostly hear it during the am and pm rush hours. They do not blow the horn after 10 pm or before 7 am. You can also walk to all the shops and restaurants in Old Town Manassas, as well as some other shopping centers and parks.

The space
Single-family house located in an upscale urbanization (no townhouses nor apartments), quiet and safe. It is in a quarter acre lot that provides yard in the front, sides and a nice sizable backyard where the patio is located. Built in a former forest that kept some trees. At the end of the backyard there is a paved trail, going west, between trees and the back of the houses that leads to a recreational field, tennis/pickleball courts and benches to watch the sun set. The forest area is home to Eagles, Northern Cardinal
with its distinct red feathers and other birds.

Near to McDonald’s, Burger King, and Walmarts. The Manassas Mall, 3 miles away has stores to shop and a food court.

The bedroom and private bathroom are in the first level, they both have locks. The first level has no interference from the second level. The stairs have hand rails.
The bedroom has a window to the private yard facing west that provides sun light in the afternoon. It holds a Cherry wood set: Full size headboard, 5 drawer chest, wall mounted cabinet and a night stand.
Work station, fast internet connection of 1200 Megabits persecond: table; chair; lamp on the table, chair mats, surge protector, ceiling lamp and trash can. Mirror sliding doors to enclose the closet, hangers; TCL-Roku smart TV-40”; lamp on the night stand; full size mattress, and two pillows.
Do not use street shoes inside the bedroom, you can use socks or inside house shoes. The house is quiet ideally to rest or work. No infants.

The locked private bathroom has a full-size mirror on top of the two sinks vanity cabinet, tempered sliding glass door to enclose the shower, elongated toilet, covered toilet paper holder, trash can, rug, body and hand towels, hair dryer, soap, shampoo & body wash. If guest is by her/himself limit to use one of the two vanity sinks.

Free street parking along the curb of the house, in front or on the cross street. The house has a large front. Looking to the garage door, to its right there is 50 feet, space for 3 cars and to the left, 15 feet, for one car. When you park, just take the space for one car to leave room for another car. Sometimes neighbors park their cars in front of the house. If the curb is occupied you can park in front or on the cross street. To protect the grass, walk along the driveway, cement sidewalk / stairs and park your car two feet away from the curb, driver side on the street. You can park in front of the mail box, except from 11am-2pm.
Do not park in front of the corner houses nor in front of the entrance to the backyard of the corner house.

In the bedroom and inside the house wear socks, slippers and / or inside shoes. Do not wear street shoes to keep it clean.

On a share basis, guest can access the following common areas: kitchen, dining table, living room, patio for outdoor dining that has a table and 4 chairs located in the backyard, paved trail, tennis and pickleball courts. Also, on a share basis, guest can use the: microwave, coffee maker, toaster and sink. Assigned for the guest are: plates, glasses, cups, utensils, and cabinets.
Two shelves in the large vertical refrigerator and in the freezer are assigned to the guest for her/his items. Assigned for the guest are two sets of wall mounted cabinets next to the refrigerator and above the dining table for pantry or other items.
After use of an appliance, clean it and store it away.

The house rule is to clean after yourself when you use the kitchen, sink and other common areas and leave them as clean as when you encounter them.

For breakfast host provides, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and coffee filter paper. For anything else guest should buy her/his own. Tap water is in compliance with Federal Health-Based drinking water standards.

Other persons other than the guest(s) are not allowed in the property. Eventually, if the guest invites another person inside the house during the day or at night, the guest must pay $30 fee for every occurrence per each person.

Use the key to lock your bedroom and main door so you won’t locked yourself out. To leave the door unlock, place the locking knob perpendicular to the floor.
If you lock yourself out you need to pay $50 fee to the Host if he is available. When the host is not available, among others, LKS Locksmith’s fee is about $150.

Do not leave any personal belongings in the common areas. Quiet time is at midnight to 5am. Turn off the TV and lights before you go to sleep.
Be respectful of personal belongings and mindful of mutual common courtesies.

You might need to share the first-level common area spaces with another person.

Guest can’t order on demand movies or TV shows that would represent a cost to the host, but guest can use her/his credit card.

During your stay
Host would try to meet the guest upon arrival to provide and test the keys, show the space, three-way light switches, trash can location, cabinets assigned, bedroom, bathroom, to answer any questions and to verify the identity of the guest.
No other person other than the guest that booked the room via Airbnb is allowed. Therefore, no third party reservation is permitted for security reasons.
If the host would not be able to meet in person, instructions to where to find the keys or how to access the lock-box will be sent to the guest’s cell phone.

The space is self-service oriented. The host normally is busy with professional and other activities. However, please don't hesitate to text (preferred) or call if you need help or have questions throughout your stay. The host, when working or when busy, doesn't check his phone, but will review texts when it is possible and will reply as soon as possible and no later than within 24 hours.

Smoking and use of illegal drugs in the house of any type is not allowed.
If guest after checked in, for any reason, needs to check out before the scheduled date there will be no refund.
First aid kit is located on top of the refrigerator.
Fire extinguisher is under the sink.

The entrance is on the first level of the house. You need to take stairs to go down. There is a cement sidewalk / stair. The stairs have hand rails. Sensors lights that illuminates the driveway, sidewalk and patio are installed.

The exit is through the back door on the first level.
When checking in, host provides, one soap, shampoo, body soap, toilet paper in the brown toilet paper holder, body and hand towels, bed sheets, 2 pillows with pillow cases and in the winter blanket, comforter.
It is guest's responsibility to keep the premises clean.

If you need to wash cloths use a commercial laundromat nearby. Among them, that would wash, dry and fold your clothes on the same day: Laundrymat, 9907 Wellington Rd, Manassas, 2.5 miles; and Wash N’ Dry, 8411 Sudley Rd, Manassas, 3.2 miles

Upon arrival, the Wi-Fi password will be provided for the free wireless high-speed Internet connection, 500 Megabits per second (Mbps).

Place food leftovers, vegetable/fruit skin and coffee grinds in the trash can, that is below the sink in the kitchen. If the trash bag is full, take it to any gas station.

A central unit runs the air condition and heat. Vents are closed in the rooms that are not being used as well as on the low traffic areas to allow a more efficient way to cool/heat the rooms in used. Manage your bedroom / bathroom temperature by opening the vent to a certain degree.

I live on a peaceful cul de sac street with the metro line (VRE) and major shops less than 7 minutes away. The house is quiet, clean and sanitised; great for teleworkers, health care professionals or tourists. I live on the property although I work full time and out quite often so I am available for questions and issues, but your time is your own. The Manassas Downtown is very close from the location. Easy commute to DC with VRE(train) station less than a mile from our place. The Manassas Battlefield Park is a must visit and not very far. Easy access to Dulles International airport.
