Introducing Moonshot the Landyacht, the Airstream at Wildernest! A perfect getaway just a 20 minute ferry ride from West Vancouver on the forested slopes of Bowen Island. This 1971 Airstream has been totally rebuilt into a super comfortable and memorable escape. It's a great couple's vacation, completely private on its own acre of land. There's a separate indoor heated bathroom and shower, plus an outdoor hot water shower and vintage bathtub built for two.
The space
Wildernest is located on the south end of our 7.5 acre property. Following an illuminated trail you'll arrive at your own space which includes your Airstream and private shower cabin. There's a wood fire pit area at the cliffs where the trail begins and over an acre of land for you to enjoy. You'll be staying in a 31' vintage Airstream Landyacht with every amenity possible included inside. Outside, enjoy your propane fire pit, picnic table, hammock and a charcoal BBQ.
Bordering the property is the 450 hectare Bowen Island Eco Reserve, a natural wonder rich in wildlife. Some of its woodland inhabitants may stop by for a visit!
Guest access
We do not offer early check-in or late check-out due to our rigorous cleaning schedule. Please do not ask for an exception. Guests must be off the property before check-in and immediately after check-out and the driveway cannot be blocked any time outside of the booking window.
2 GUESTS MAXIMUM. THERE ARE NO PETS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED ON THE PROPERTY. No exceptions for emotional support animals. Due to the steep nature of the terrain, we do not allow guests to explore the cliffs above the Airstream. NO CHILDREN UNDER 12. The driveway and parking area are video monitored for safety and security.
We live on the north side of the same property and are always available to our guests; however, once you check in, you will feel like you're in your own world.
Other things to note
Please be aware: there is no commercial ridesharing or public transit on the island from Snug Cove to the Airstream. A car is recommended, but you can also rent an e-bike or enjoy the walk (about 45 minutes). Once you reach the property, the foot trail to the Airstream is approximately 100m with an elevation gain of 15m on graded gravel.
