This private two-bedroom suite in Deep Bay is a short walk from the ferry terminal on Bowen Island. Light pours into the garden-level dwelling from big windows overlooking your private covered patio with comfy lounge chairs.
Inside is a simple and clean kitchen with a glass range and large fridge and freezer. A BBQ is available for guest use, if you want to venture outside of the kitchen. We have most of the kitchen items you need to cook a meal, but for guest safety we are currently not providing any pantry basics. We do provide tea and coffee for the first night of your stay (Keurig and individually packaged tea bags). There is a French Press for those who prefer to bring your own favourite roast with you.
A table for four sits in the open layout living/kitchen space, which also has a comfy couch and two chairs. There's a smart TV in the living space where you can sign on to Netflix, Prime etc.
The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, and keep cool during hot summer months. The bathroom is sleek and has a nice deep bathtub - ready for you to have a relaxing soak, or if you prefer a shower there are dual shower heads.
You will be minutes away from many great things to do on Bowen Island - no car required. Pebbly Beach is a rocky beach located on the north side of Mannion Bay on Bowen Island and is a semi-secluded spot for swimming - you can walk there in around 3-5 minutes. Snug Cove (where the ferry comes in) is a very pleasant 10 to 15 minute jaunt away – restaurants, shops etc. Killarney Lake, a great picnic spot with lots of trails, is also walking distance.
For those of you not familiar with the area, West Vancouver and Vancouver downtown is only a short ferry ride away and it is a pretty little trip. Day-trips to the mainland, even all via public transportation are possible- just watch the ferry schedule for the last one home- it is usually around 10pm. Ferry delays are frequent unfortunately.
Speedy wifi and a serene environment makes this a great option for anyone who works remotely, but wants a break from the city and a chance to see the stars.
This suite is set up for adults, not for children and we are officially no pets.

This cozy entire second floor unit (750 sqft) with a separate entrance is suitable for a full family to rest and enjoy. The unit has a living room, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and
a kitchenette (4.3 square meters). Main bedroom has a Queen bed, the second bedroom has one daybed that could be converted into two individual twin beds (67" length) and one folding sofa bed (48" x 72"). An additional sleeping place is available in the living room, a sofa bed (Double size 55"x80"). The kitchenette (4.3 square meters) has: a fridge, a dishwasher, a toaster, a kettle, a coffee maker, a slow cooker, a sink, and 30L 1500 Watt multifunctional toaster oven (tray 14x12 inch) with a dual hot plates cook top 900 and 500 Watt - possible to fry eggs and cook non large volume of simple food (oven & hot plate heating cannot be used simultaneously). The one sink full bathroom has a shower with a bathtub (length 56", width 27", depth 14"). A double sink full bathroom has a shower cabin. The backyard has a picnic area and a gas barbeque (two or three burners). Parking is on a driveway in front of the home (maximum 3 cars)..

We’re only a 5 minute drive from Snug Cove (ferry, restaurants, shops), 15 minute walk to Dorman Point, and 10 minute walk to September Morn Beach.
We have two dwellings on the property: the cabin and the main house.
The cabin is 1,000 sq.ft. with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with sofa bed, full kitchen, large patio, and private hot tub. Sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids.
As you walk into the cabin, you're greeted with an open concept living space (kitchen, dining room, living room). The kitchen and dining room are fully equipped with a 6-seater dining table, 4 bar stools, stove, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, Keurig coffee machine, kettle, toaster, blender, dishes and utensils. The living room has a sofa bed with a queen mattress pull-out, as well as a love seat and flat screen TV. There is access to high speed wi-fi and Netflix. The open concept living space has eclipse sliding doors to the patio where you'll find a BBQ and lounge furniture to enjoy the view.
As you continue though the cabin, you'll see the bedrooms and bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and ensuite bathroom with a rain shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed and the second bathroom has a bath tub with a rain shower. There is also a dryer and washer available beside the second bathroom.
Last, but not least, the private hot tub! This hot tub will be private for your use during your stay, no other guests will be using it. It accommodates 4-6 people and is a great place to watch the sunset!

2. No smoking anywhere on our property.
3. Our driveway is very steep and cemented all the way down. The property offers a lawn games field (cornhole, bocce, and spike ball) with a communal BBQ above the main house parking lot for all guests to use and enjoy.
There is access to the ocean (no beach) using our wooden stairs down by the main house. Please use caution and use at your own risk. You can use the stairs between sunrise and sunset. If you plan on going swimming, the currents are very strong in our bay, so we recommend using life jackets.
There is a communal fire pit area above the lawn games field. This contained fire pit can be used by all property guests and each guest must provide their own firewood, kindling and lighter. You can bring your own wood or the General Store in Snug Cove sells firewood bundles. Use at your own risk, never leave your fire unattended, put out your fire when finished, and no fires during fire ban season.
Security Disclosure - Since we have 5 rentals on our property, we have four security cameras - all outdoors. One faces our driveway entrance gate, one faces down the driveway and the lawn games field, one faces our main house parking area, and one faces the oceanside shared lounge areas. They will be on during your stay.

Dom and Melissa left us to enjoy the cabin but were quick to respond when we required more coffee. The kitchen has a fridge, electrical stove, oven, microwave, hot water kettle, and a French Press coffee machine. There are pots, pans, utensils, plates, salts, and peppers available in the suite. Also, a BBQ on the covered patio with a side burner for our guests to cook.
There is beach access close by, (7min walk), and a lot of trails around.
We are inclusive, and welcoming and are well-suited to families (with kids), solo adventurers, business travelers, or couples. Sleeps 2-3. Dog friendly (extra cleaning fees apply, charged post stay).

The guest suite is on the ground level of the house. There are staircases going up to the suite from the parking space. The guest suite has its own entrance and private covered patio, which is facing the Howe Sound mountain and the ocean. It is self check-in and out.

- "We had the most peaceful stay we have had anywhere. Sitting in a hot tub with that view is a fantastic experience. Hosts are good at communicating and are proactive and thoughtful. Just the right amount of everything." - "This was just a beautiful property. The rooms were all new and updated with a beautiful bath. The check in/out process was easy and worry free. The island itself was so cute with tons of little shops, stores and restaurants. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tube with the most amazing view as well as the sauna. If we could change one thing it would be that the room next to us ( St. Marks suite) was unoccupied the entire time we were there and definitely had the better views where you could see the ocean while laying in bed which we could not. When we first arrived we thought surely someone else will stay there but no-one ever came and since it was open we wish we could have stayed there. Nonetheless we had a fantastic time there and would go back in a heart beat."

The Caboose
Lovely 1-bedroom cottage with ocean and mountain views.
One of Bowen’s favorite Cottages. Fondly known as the ‘Caboose’ as it's a separate living space from the main house located at the back of the property.
A 10 minute drive across the Island from the ferry and the amenities of Snug Cove. Close to Tunstall Bay Beach, the oceanside trail and beaches in The Cape and one of the west side access trails to hike up Mt Gardner.
Suitable for a quiet retreat for singles or a couples only.
580 sf coach house is clean and comfortable with one bedroom, full bathroom (separate shower and an oversized tub), kitchenette with open dining and living room space. Totally private and peaceful back patio area. The only sound maybe the owls in the forest behind, a few neighbouring chickens (no rooster) and an occasional frog visiting the pond in garden below. Front deck has panoramic views of Mount Gardner to the north with ocean and Sunshine Coast mountain range views sunset west.
Accessed by a staircase so not wheelchair friendly or for those with physical challenges

Gardenview studio suite. We allow dogs here. Fully equipped. Walk to best beach and sunsets on Bowen island west side. Hike and relax and savour up the nature and peace . Golf and bike and visit the cidery. Dine at many restaurants 10 min drive. The suite is very warm and quiet .Tub and shower . There are two small dogs on property so yard is not available please do not enter gate. Walking trails and dog friendly beaches 5 min walk.

The suite is one big room with a queen size comfortable bed & I slept very well. The kitchen runs along one side of the room and Helen had thoughtfully left a small basket of snacks plus all the basics needed in a kitchen. A big glass bottle of cold water in the fridge!! For it! The bathroom is beautifully done with stone walls. Good water pressure & temperature in the shower. There’s a large TV opposite the bed and beneath is the small table (where the book was found) with two chairs. Theres wireless access (which worked great for me). Opposite the kitchen a large window looks out onto a beautiful garden with flowers, trees and a sitting area - although this area is not available to guests. This is where I drop a star. It would have been great to have somewhere to sit outside. The guest parking is not very accessible, I walk with a cane and found it didn’t matter if I drove in or backed in the beautiful trees were difficult to manoeuvre around. I think able bodied people would even struggle around them. Opening doors its necessary to duck while walking & trying to carry or access my van and not damage the trees. There’s also a rock drive/walk way and a few stairs. However, I’d recommend Helena’s for 1 or 2 plus a small dog. 💚"

RAVEN’S ROCK – Private Home
We’d like to welcome you to this magical place, perched high on a rock overlooking the cove, the ocean and the Lion’s peaks of the mountain range across the ocean to the north-east. The house was built over bedrock with split levels that meld with the landscape and integrate with the forest, the valley and the terrain. The living areas are spacious, yet cozy, nestled privately amongst mature trees. A large wrap-around deck provides outdoor living areas, offering peeks of the distant ocean and mountains, and allowing you to commune with wandering deer, woodpeckers, wrens, crows and, of course, ravens.
The house is an easy 5 min. drive from the ferry terminal in Snug Cove. It is possible to walk up from the cove but a bit challenging for most. A bus can bring you ¾ of the way up the main road. Most prefer to have a car to get around the island and enjoy the beautiful scenery, beaches, trails and shops and restaurants. Beautiful hiking trails are directly accessible into the Singing Woods valley, down
to the Cove or up to the Valhalla Heights with spectacular views to the south and east, or to make your way down to Artisan Square shops and restaurants, and to hitch a ride back up the hill.
The house offers plenty of scope for relaxation, cooking, reading and immersing yourself in nature. 2 private bedrooms and a loft provide accommodation for up to 6. There are books, games, and entertainments systems available for your use.
Bowen island is a true west coast experience, while being easily accessed from Vancouver. It is ideal for outdoor enthusiast or anyone who would enjoy relaxing in a private, natural environment. Activities on the island include hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming and the summer months include a number of festivals, art shows and community events. The immediate area has been likened to the
enchanted forests in Tolkien’s novels, and you may find yourself immersed in the Singing Woods, landing at Eowyn Lane and wandering up to the Rivendell retreat and 360 degree view to the surrounding mountains and ocean.

Tucked into the forest canopy on Bowen Island, the Wildwood Cabins are authentic, hand crafted post and beam cabins built from local and reclaimed timber. Welcome to the Magnolia Suite at the historical Old Dorm on Beautiful Bowen Island.
We are just a short walk to the Ferry, Restaurants and Shops of Snug Cove.
Super convenient location and very comfortable bed.
The space
The Magnolia Suite has its own private entrance. The suite is self contained and consists of 3 rooms.
The living room provides a smart TV with all the streaming apps, a sitting area, and a desk with a workspace. In this space is also a Fridge with a small freezer compartment. We also provide a Kettle, Keurig coffee machine and a Microwave.
Off the sitting room is a balcony with a table and 2 chairs.
There is a full bathroom which has a large soaker tub and stand alone shower.
In the bedroom is a very comfortable King size Bed.
Other things to note
Myself and my family feel very Fortunate to present our 2 suites at The Old Dorm. The Old Dorm is a very well known historical building on Bowen Island. The building was built in the 1950's and was used as the office and staff accommodation for the old Union Steamship Hotel. The Hotel used to be in what is now a large field across the street.

Fawn Forest is situated close to the ferry/Snug Cove, yet secluded in the middle of a forest. Trails from the yard lead you straight into Crippen Park where you can find a beautiful meadow, Killarney Lake, a dog park, and more! You can walk to and from Snug Cove through the trails only having to cross one street. This is where you will find the ferry, coffee shops, restaurants, the library, art gallery, and cute boutiques. We are also walking distance to Pebbly Beach.
The space
Fawn Forest has 2 spacious bedrooms with a queen bed, and a king bed as well as a pull out couch in the living room. We also have an ottoman that pulls out into a small single bed/child's bed that can be brought into one of the bedrooms or living room upon request. There is a pack 'n play provided in the closet of the smaller bedroom. There is a full kitchen with an induction 4 burner stove, full oven, full fridge and freezer. We are equipped with a toaster, and French press coffee maker. Complimentary coffee, tea, and sugar are provided. There is a table with 4 chairs and we can provide some extras if needed upon request. The living room has a cozy couch, wooden rocking chair, and a TV with an HDMI cable if you would like to bring a device to plug in. There is lots of parking, multiple outdoor seating areas and a full sized BBQ. We have a few chickens living in a coop on the property that are always happy to have visitors. We can provide you with a few treats if you wish to feed them.
You should have everything you need for a relaxing stay on Bowen Island and if something is missing, please don't hesitate to ask! We are always happy to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Other things to note
As your host, we will generally be staying in a separate part of the home with our family during your stay (the two spaces are completely private and have separate entrances and are not connected). We have twin toddlers who are generally awake between 7am and 9pm so you might hear us/them from time to time though we spend most of our days outside (weather permitting).
While your noises won't generally bother us, we don't allow parties without prior arrangements/agreements. Please chat with us to see if we can accommodate your request if this is your desire for your stay.

This simple cosy, sun-filled studio attached to our home, offers panoramic south facing views overlooking the ocean and dramatic North Shore mountains. Private patio courtyard entrance. With a walkway deck that is partitioned but shared with your hosts. 5 min walk to beautiful swimmable Eaglecliff Beach, 7 min drive to the ferry and Snug Cove. Hvalsang means whale song in Norwegian. Our dramatic views have always reminded of my mother’s homeland in Norway. When deciding a name for our new home we heard whales in the sea below! Our intention for this space is to live in harmony with Mother Nature so only use locally made zerowaste products. Please visit our permaculture garden above your suite where we are feeding birds, bees, butterflies as well as ourselves! Make sure to shut the gates to keep the deer out!

Come and enjoy Highland Hospitality at our charming one-bedroom lower ground suite in the beautiful highlands of Snug Cove! Located above the Cove and all its fantastic amenities, as well as surrounding parks, lakes, beaches, and forest trails. If you are on foot, please note that we are located on one of Bowen's many hills.
The space
The lower ground suite features a range of amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. Although there is no kitchen, you’ll find a fridge, kettle, induction hob, microwave, outdoor BBQ, and all the necessary pans, dishes, glasses, mugs, cutlery, and utensils, allowing you to prepare and enjoy snacks and meals at your convenience. We provide tea, Nespresso coffee, sugar and individual milk and cream cartons, but you may want to bring fresh milk or cream with you. We also commend to you the many cafés and restaurants in the area.
There is a large sofa on which you can relax, maybe watch TV - we offer Netflix and Prime.
For those who need a dedicated workspace, there's a large designer's drafting table accompanied by an HDMI monitor, making it an ideal setup for work or creative endeavours.
The bedroom has a Queen size bed, chest of drawers, and built in hanging wardrobe with spare pillows. There is a separate shower room with all the usual amenities.
Additionally, a covered outdoor terrace is available for alfresco dining, where you can savour your meals surrounded by the natural beauty of Bowen Island. There are two outdoor armchairs with blankets provided for enjoying the warm summer evenings, or listening to the rain, with a gas fire pit while cozy under a blanket.
The fenced south-west facing garden provides a serene space to relax and bask in the warm afternoon sun in the Adirondack chairs. Feel free to pick raspberries and strawberries from the garden, when they are ripe.
The garden is enclosed and self contained and therefore suitable for dogs to be free to roam.
While we strive to minimize noise from above, please be aware that occasional sounds may be heard from the floor above the basement suite. We take care to ensure that any noise is kept to a minimum to ensure a peaceful environment for our guests.

Please note that there are several steps up or down from the road or driveway to the unit and therefore we are sorry to say that it may well be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues.

It's important to note that Cates Hill is located above Snug Cove on a hill, which means that guests will need to walk uphill when exploring the area. Our location is 120m above sea level. While this might require a bit of effort, it is very walkable to downtown Snug Cove and Artisan Square. The location also rewards you with stunning views and a tranquil ambiance away from the hustle and bustle of the town below.
If you are planning a trip between Monday and Wednesday, please be aware that some businesses are closed; it would be wise to check if you need a particular good or service.

The eagle nest oceanview getaway is on an acreage ocean side property facing the spectacular Howe Sound Mountain. The guest suite is located on its own private level of an occupied house. There are three flights of stairs going down and the suite is on the ground level. The guest suite has its own private deck and backyard.
The suite is an open concept with cozy and modern design. The entire suite has a custom cedar finishings, hardwood floors, a large rainforest shower overlooking the ocean side, a kitchenette and a BBQ outside on its own private patio.
The suite can accommodate 4 people. One luxury queen size bed in the bedroom and a pullout queen size sofa bed in the living room. You can see the ocean and the mountains from any corner of living room.
The kitchen has a minibar fridge, toaster oven, microwave, hot water kettle and coffee machine. There are pots, pans, utensils, plates, salts and peppers available in the suite. There is NO stove or hot plate in the suite. A BBQ outside on the patio with a side burner for our guests to relax and enjoy peace and beauty of the Mather Nature.
There is a rocky trail to the end of property, but no beach access.

Escape the grind in our private forest retreat room. Our house is surrounded by tranquil Bowen Island Forest, walking distance to Killarney Lake (250m) and backs into Mt. Gardner Mountain with its many trails.
The place is 3.3 km from the ferry, and it is easier to access with a vehicle, as it is on top of a steep hill. (200m). There is bus service in the weekend.

The space
Your Bowen hideaway is the lower level walk out suite of our beautiful island home. We have converted our home so that the lower level is split from the upstairs so that you will have your own private entry and entire private suite to yourself. We live upstairs and both work from home and off island. This January we welcomed our first child so you may hear sounds of us tending to our child upstairs from time to time!
When you walk in you have a dining nook for your meals and game nights. The main bathroom has a walk in shower, in floor heating and all amenities.
Your kitchenette includes an induction stove top that you can set up or store away for more counter space, a toaster oven, an espresso machine (please bring your own milk), electric kettle and everything you need for quick meals at home.
In the living room you have a smart TV, small electric fireplace and a dresser packed with games and puzzles for evenings indoors.
There is a designated work area separated from the living space by barn doors that includes a desk, work chair and a lounge chair.
In the hallway closets you can find a first aid kit, emergency candles/matches for those winter power outages & beach towels.
The front patio is lit by solar lights and you can turn them on and off via remote. The patio set is comfortable for dining outdoors and morning coffees.
Our location is central to most things on the island and is off of one of the main roads. That being said the ferry car traffic can be busy at loading times. At night it is very peaceful and dark as we don’t have any street lights. We will make sure you have flashlights for any night time strolls.

The front patio and outdoor dining area is all yours! You may see us coming home from time to time and we will respect your privacy.
There is no access to the garage, the upper level of our home or the backyard.

When we work off island we have early mornings so you may hear us upstairs prepping for the day. We recently welcomed our first baby to the family and you may hear us tending to the baby from time to time. We are mindful of your space and will be as quiet as possible.

The beauty of island life is nothing is ever too far away. The golf course and iconic Cape Roger Curtis park on the far side of Bowen are still only a short drive across island.

The space
The Chocolate Suite is a unique accommodation. We call it a B&C, Bed & Chocolate. It is an extension of our chocolate business Cocoa West Chocolatier. Staying in the suite is a way to really enjoy your chocolate experience. Decorated in tones of white, milk and dark chocolate, with accents of raspberry and lime, it is a soothing oasis, from the bustle of Artisan Square.
Artisan Square is the creative capital of Bowen Island, located just 3 minutes from the ferry by car/bus, or a leisurely 15 minute walk up the hill.

Guests of The Chocolate Suite will enjoy delicious organic chocolates, organic hot chocolates and organic coffees, and a light self-prepared breakfast.
There is a mini fridge, kettle, flashlight, beach towels and a picnic backpack in the room. Picnic lunches are available for purchase at Cocoa West Chocolatier. If it's rainy, there's an umbrella, or cosy up in the Chocolate Suite and watch one of several delightful movies like 'Chocolat'.
Other things to note
Artisan Square can be a bustling place during the day, but it's very quiet after 5pm. Don't be surprised to see many, many stars in the sky and a few deer in the Square at night. You may also hear the frogs that live at Killarney Lake 1km away and crickets too.

Newly renovated 1 bedroom 1 bathroom ground level suite. The private bedroom is cozy with a queen bed, nightstands, and brand new hotel linens and plush pillows. The fully equipped kitchenette includes a microwave, double convection cooktop, toaster oven, dishwasher, pots and pans, utensils, dishes & bowls, and a nespresso coffee maker.

Our cozy suite is located in a private home in Bowen Island’s well loved Deep Bay neighbourhood. It is a family friendly neighbourhood, very close to the cove and trails. There is also easy access to two local beaches, each within a 5 minute walk of the house.

Eagle Cliff is on the east side of Bowen Island facing north shore mountains and Horseshoe Bay. Our home is a 7-minute drive from Snug Cove towards Hood Point and is situated 80 feet above the waters edge. We are on the 281 bus route. Walking trails interlace the community with access to the beach close by. Relaxing, beautiful views of nature, and many eagles from this suite.

The suite is completely separate from the homeowner's living space, being located on the underside of the house, which is located at the top of a cliff. Access is by exterior stairs onto the deck of this level.
Other things to note
If you have a feather or wool allergy let us know so we can switch out our bedding for allergy friendly items. Our linens are washed in hypoallergenic detergents to keep you as safe as possible however if you or your loved one has particular sensitivity please either bring your own bedding or shower soaps too. THE AREA: Perched above Snug Cove on Bowen Island, Sweet Suite is a new, upscale, self catering suite in a meticulously cared for home. Walk off the ferry and up a trail 10 minutes to this modern, bright, mountain view suite. It is walking distance from the shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants that dot Snug Cove and Artisan Square, but not so close that you lose the tranquility. You are also mere steps from the forest and mountain trails of Crippen Park, Dorman Point, Mt. Gardner, and Valhalla. The neighbourhood is family-friendly and distinctively beautiful because of the mountain and ocean views we get from on high!
THE SUITE: Sweet Suite has a private entrance just above a terraced garden patio with outdoor seating and expansive mountain views. Inside, you will enjoy an light cooking facilities (fridge, Double induction cook top, toaster oven keurig coffee machine, dinnerware, pots & pans, etc.). We also provide fair trade, organic tea and Ethical Bean coffee, and offer only compostable k-cups for the keurig coffee maker.
The suite has one bedroom with a new high end, medium-firm queen bed (from Silk & Snow—a Canadian company), night stands with table lamps, and a white noise machine. There is enough room in the bedroom to fit a pack n' play or an optional foam or crib mattress on the floor if you come with a young child/infant. There is also a double, fold down couch in the living room. It can sleep one adult or a child reasonably comfortably (not the best cushioning but definitely survivable for younger guests). We also have a high density, twin foam mattress that can be used on the floor in the living room or bedroom. It is comfortable for an adult or child. Fresh linens, duvets, and extra down and down alternative pillows are provided for the spare beds in the bedroom closet.
The suite gets a lot of morning sun, and so we furnished the windows with black out shades that also have a "sheer" setting for filtered light and privacy. They can also be open for clear views to the outside gardens and mountains.
We only use natural, organic cleaning products and laundry detergents, and essential oils for any added scent. :)
We go to great lengths to ensure that your stay here will be comfortable and special. We attend to details—like providing a light cooking facilities in the kitchen with quality dinnerware, beautiful updated decor, veggies, herbs and fruit harvested right from our gardens (when available), beautiful outdoor patio seating, play structures for kids, beautiful gardens with ornamental grasses, fruit trees and herbaceous perennials, updated info. about what's happening on Bowen Island, local maps and guides, and more...
**IMPORTANT NOTES**: Please note that Sweet Suite was designed for use by an individual, couple OR small family with 1-2 kids. If you are a group of three or four adults, you will likely do better to book a larger space. This is the equivalent of a one bedroom hotel suite with a kitchen and lounge area (approx 600sf).
Also this space is best suited for people who aren’t looking for a quiet zen retreat space. Unfortunately we can’t promise quiet because we have two kids (ages 11 and 7) who live upstairs with us part time and the sound insulation between our living room and dining and kitchen area above and your suite is not great. You WILL hear our kids despite our efforts to keep them reasonably contained. You’ll be happiest if you intend to use the suite as a place to crash and launch from in the mornings for all day adventures. They are up at around 7:30am every day. Bedtime is by 7:00 pm so the house is pretty quiet from then on. We have priced the suite lower to reflect this inconvenience.

ATTENTION FAMILIES: We warmly welcome families with children as we have two ones ourselves. We have a fun custom-built playhouse for use by children with adult supervision, a water and sand table, swing, a slide built into a hill, and lots of places for kids to explore—all accessible from your private entryway. The suite is equipped with some toys, games, drawing supplies, and books suitable for kids 0-8yo. If you need use of a pack n’ play, or anything else for use with infants/toddlers, just ask—we've got it all!
BIKING ON BOWEN
We are a cycling family and can offer tips on road and mountain biking trails at all levels on the island. Happy to lend a pump or other things you may need for bike repairs, and well connected to repair people on the island should more extensive emergency repairs be needed.
If you’re interested in cycling Bowen but don’t want to bring bikes, be sure to search Bowen E-Bikes and book an ebike rental well before the date of your trip. Mention that you are staying with us and you will get a small discount! They rent terrific and safe bike trailers for little ones too, so that could be a really fun adventure. :)

Other things to note
NOISE LEVELS:
You need to be comfortable with the fact that you may hear the voices and noises of little people above your suite in the mornings (usually between 7:30-9am) and evenings (usually between 4-7pm). Our suite is listed at a lower than average price point for its location and for what it offers because of this. If you are an early riser and/or don't mind the sounds of little ones, this place is TREMENDOUS value. It is not a good place to book if you are looking for a zen retreat environment!
Other things to note
It gets dark very early in the winter and there are no street lights on Bowen, so please bring a good flashlight. Please be advice that the property is hilly and has no railings. If you need easier access, please let us know.

Welcome to The Captain's Quarters at Bowen Island's historical Old Dorm. We are just a short 8 minute walk from the ferry, restaurants and shops in the main Village of Snug Cove. Bowen has some great beaches as well, and we are just a short walk to both Pebbly and Sandy Beach.

Beautifully designed and appointed, The Barnfield Suites is approximately 700 square feet. The entire suite is above ground and occupies the main floor of the architecturally stunning house (so you are not underground!).
Head to the farmers’ market and cook a gourmet meal in the full chef-inspired kitchen with central island. The light-filled home also features a luxurious bathroom and a cozy living room with an ultra comfortable couch. Guests can enjoy complementary high-speed WiFi, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video (with Live TV and Crave / HBO) and Disney+ (with Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic and STAR). You’ll also have your own washer and dryer.
For the most restful sleep, The Barnfield Suites offer 2 experiences and even a pillow menu. The first bedroom features the world-famous Casper® mattress, sheets and pillows. Around the back is what we call the West Coast oasis where you can lounge or take a nap on the comfortable sofa with a covered pergola. We also added a brand new hammock! If you want that true West Coast feel, this is the place to enjoy a bottle of wine with the rock cliff behind the property, natural foliage and the sounds of birds and water surrounding you.

We highly advise bringing your car and/or bikes. There is parking for 2 vehicles. The Barnfield Suites are located 4 minutes drive or 20 minutes bike from Snug Cove. Please note that it is quite hilly so we would only recommend coming by bike if you are an experienced rider. It will take you 35 minutes to walk to the home.

Super clean, spacious home with two bedrooms. The space
Relax and enjoy our family home located on Cates Hill, with a view to Snug Cove, the mountains and forest. There is a network of trails accessible through the back of the property. We are within walking distance (10 mins) to both Snug Cove and Artisan Square.
Our home has plenty of natural light. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances and cooking utensils. A woodburning stove and TV are also in the kitchen area.
The dining and living room, plus outdoor deck with barbecue are on the top level. We have a gasfire place, large TV (cable and Netflix) in the living room and an old fashion record player, with a selection of vinyls, as well as a keyboard.
The middle floor has three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king bed, and ensuite with soaker tub. The two other bedrooms have queen beds. Our beds are outfitted with good quality linens and duvets.
The area between the bedrooms has an infrared sauna, small area for yoga and a desk if you need a quiet place to work. There is a large deck off the second floor which is partially covered with outdoor furniture.

Guests have access to the top two floors of a three-level home. Lots of greenspace, as well as trails from the back of the property. One of the trails will take you on a pretty decent workout. The "mini grind". If you are super fit, you can probably do it in 20 mins, but on average, it will take about 30-45 minutes. You will end up with a beautiful view of Howe Sound. The trail will also take you to the back side of Cates Hill and beyond.

Also, if you don’t have a car, our property is about one km from the ferry, uphill. Please let us know if you are on foot and we will make every effort to pick you up. Buses and ebikes are available to take you to the other side of the Island. You can hitchhike, which is very common on Island.

The space
The Palm Retreat Suite is perfect for an individual or couple seeking peace, beauty, and convenience. It is centrally located in Deep Bay, a small and quiet neighbourhood right in Snug Cove. Drive here in less than 5 minutes right off the ferry, or walk via a short cut in less than 10 minutes via a beautiful trail with ocean and views of the North Shore's beautiful Coastal mountains. The suite has been newly painted and all of the furniture, bedding, and amenities are brand new and selected with care. It is walking distance from all that the village of Snug Cove has to offer—restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, shops, a regular (General Store) and organic (Ruddy Potato) grocery store, and more. We are also a 5 minute walk from a great local beach (Pebbly Beach) that gets sun all day and late into the afternoon, as well as a vast network of hiking trails. You could absolutely leave your car behind, but if you decide to bring it with you, you will have a dedicated parking space at the house, or street parking on the quiet and safe neighbourhood street.
THE SPACE:
Enter the suite via a private staircase up to French Doors that open to the bedroom. It has a king bed, nightstands with lamps, a low console table with local maps and information, a large Smart TV (login for access to Netflix, Prime, Disney, and a host of other streaming services). You will also find a small kitchenette equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, mini fridge/freezer, toaster, toaster oven, kettle, dinnerware, cutting boards, cups, mugs, and wineglasses. We provide a selection of coffee pods and black and herbal teas, sugar, and honey. There is ample storage to hang and store clothing. The spacious en suite bathroom has a shower/tub combo and excellent water pressure.
