Custom built in 2010, the Bowen Island Boutique Beach House is a luxurious 3 bedroom, contemporary designer house set on 1.5 acres of waterfront property with panoramic views of the Salish Sea and Vancouver Island's snow-capped mountains.
The Bowen Island Boutique Beach House is modernism at its best. Designed by renowned Canadian architecture firm, superkül inc, and an internationally recognized landscape architect, it is contemporary and minimalist, a house of glass where outdoor splendor and indoor simplicity combine. It is ideal for those looking to connect with nature without forfeiting everyday comforts. In winter, while overlooking the blue waters, snuggle up in the bedroom or relax in the living room by an ultra-modern, two-sided wood burning fireplace. In summer, soak up the rays at our private beach, secluded from neighboring views. The house has heated stone floors, central air, 14-foot ceilings, and is fully equipped with surround sound audio, 3D television, cable, DVD, Internet and Wi-Fi as well as top of the line appliances. The home sleeps six people comfortably in three queen-size beds. European rain shower heads in the 2 bathrooms and an outdoor hot tub complete the experience.
Nine-foot high lift-and-slide wood doors open the interior to a deck perched high in the Douglas Fir canopy. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow guests to engage with the magnificent physical setting. You'll love falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves. A star-filled horizon is revealed through spectacular glass walls in every room.

This private two-bedroom suite in Deep Bay is a short walk from the ferry terminal on Bowen Island. Light pours into the garden-level dwelling from big windows overlooking your private covered patio with comfy lounge chairs.
Inside is a simple and clean kitchen with a glass range and large fridge and freezer. A BBQ is available for guest use, if you want to venture outside of the kitchen. We have most of the kitchen items you need to cook a meal, but for guest safety we are currently not providing any pantry basics. We do provide tea and coffee for the first night of your stay (Keurig and individually packaged tea bags). There is a French Press for those who prefer to bring your own favourite roast with you.
A table for four sits in the open layout living/kitchen space, which also has a comfy couch and two chairs. There's a smart TV in the living space where you can sign on to Netflix, Prime etc.
The bedrooms are comfortable and quiet, and keep cool during hot summer months. The bathroom is sleek and has a nice deep bathtub - ready for you to have a relaxing soak, or if you prefer a shower there are dual shower heads.
You will be minutes away from many great things to do on Bowen Island - no car required. Pebbly Beach is a rocky beach located on the north side of Mannion Bay on Bowen Island and is a semi-secluded spot for swimming - you can walk there in around 3-5 minutes. Snug Cove (where the ferry comes in) is a very pleasant 10 to 15 minute jaunt away – restaurants, shops etc. Killarney Lake, a great picnic spot with lots of trails, is also walking distance.
For those of you not familiar with the area, West Vancouver and Vancouver downtown is only a short ferry ride away and it is a pretty little trip. Day-trips to the mainland, even all via public transportation are possible- just watch the ferry schedule for the last one home- it is usually around 10pm. Ferry delays are frequent unfortunately.
Speedy wifi and a serene environment makes this a great option for anyone who works remotely, but wants a break from the city and a chance to see the stars.
This suite is set up for adults, not for children and we are officially no pets.
Please feel free to message us with any questions about when we may be able to make exceptions with additional precautions and fees. This is a property with strictly no parties or loud late nights - quiet time is from 11 pm to 7 am. No unregistered guests or hosting is allowed. We look forward to seeing you!

- "This place is stunning!! You cannot beat it! Do not hesitate just because this place doesn’t have a lot of reviews, I couldn’t be happier with our stay my only regret is that I didn’t lengthen my stay there and shorten my stay in Vancouver. Hosts were amazing to deal with, super quick to respond with my couple of worries to do with what’s below. Just as a note anyone (like I was) whom may be a bit panicked as I know I was (being scammed b4) because VRBO has a different process than other rental platforms for confirmation purposes. And if VRBO reads these comments, not getting any confirmation of stay, and not getting any info on stay until day of is a bit worrisome for the consumer. So don’t fret all is good future renters..this place will knock your socks off! Thank you, we will be back ❤️❤️"

- "The property is exactly as described, modern and exceptionally clean. It was perfect for 2 couples. Dom and Melissa left us to enjoy the cabin but were quick to respond when we required more coffee. They even provided us with a delicious bottle of red wine which we enjoyed with our steak that we BBQ’d on the deck. Our only complaint was the weather which was horrible but beyond anyones control. We will return when hopefully we can really explore Bowen Island without getting soaked."

Melissa does a great job communicating with you before and during your stay. Everything you have questions about or want to know about things to do during your stay is covered in a binder. There are a total of 4 units and one cabin on the property, so if you are looking for seclusion, just be aware of that. Very thing is marked well on the property, and it was easy to enjoy our time on the property even though we weren’t alone. We will definitely we back to explore Bowen Island again, and plan to book this breaktaking stay once again."

Situated in Dorman Bay, our waterfront property is a fabulous location with incredible and expansive views to the North, East and South.
We’re only a 5 minute drive from Snug Cove (ferry, restaurants, shops), 15 minute walk to Dorman Point, and 10 minute walk to September Morn Beach.
We have two dwellings on the property: the main house and the cabin.
The main house accommodates 4 private suites (Cypress Mountain Suite, Mount Strachan Suite, St. Mark’s Summit Suite, and David Peak Suite). The suites range between 200 sq.ft to 250 sq.ft. Each suite has its own private exterior entrance, king/queen bed, private bathroom with rain shower, heated bathroom floor & heated towel rack, flat screen TV, dining area, and kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, toaster, Keurig coffee machine, kettle, dishes & utensils). Due to our business license, we're not allowed to provide a hot plate/stove in our suites. The suites have access to three outdoor lounge areas, a shared hot tub, a shared wood barrel sauna, outdoor shower, a lawn games field with BBQ, a staircase to the ocean, and a communal fire pit area. All suites have access to high speed wi-fi and Netflix.
Search each suite name for its listings and availability.
Please note:
1. No children under 12 years old in our suites, but are welcome in our modern cabin.
2. No pets allowed on our property.
3. No smoking anywhere on our property.
4. The suites are private rooms inside our main house and you can occasionally hear us upstairs as well as other guests in the rooms beside, so please be mindful and respectful of that.
5. Our driveway is very steep and cemented all the way down. There is one parking spot per suite down at the main house, but if you prefer, we have a gravel parking pad at the road, 100m past our driveway entrance.
*During the winter season, we recommend parking at the road if the driveway or the conditions during your stay are icy and/or covered in snow.*
About our other accommodation and shared spaces:
The cabin is 1,000 sq.ft. with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room with sofa bed, full kitchen, large patio, and private hot tub. Sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids.
The cabin has a separate listing (search Hummingbird Oceanside Suites: The Modern Cabin).
There is a wood barrel sauna and outdoor shower down by the main house, which is shared between all the property guests.
The property offers a lawn games field (cornhole, bocce, and spike ball) with a communal BBQ above the main house parking lot for all guests to use and enjoy.
There is access to the ocean (no beach) using our wooden stairs down by the main house. Please use caution and use at your own risk. You can use the stairs between sunrise and sunset. If you plan on going swimming, the currents are very strong in our bay, so we recommend using life jackets.
There is a communal fire pit area above the lawn games field. This contained fire pit can be used by all property guests and each guest must provide their own firewood, kindling and lighter. You can bring your own wood or the General Store in Snug Cove sells firewood bundles. Use at your own risk, never leave your fire unattended, put out your fire when finished, and no fires during fire ban season.
Security Disclosure - Since we have 5 rentals on our property, we have four security cameras - all outdoors. One faces our driveway entrance gate, one faces down the driveway and the lawn games field, one faces our main house parking area, and one faces the oceanside shared lounge areas. They will be on during your stay.
Our family lives in the main house year-round (on the upper floor) and we look forward to meeting you!

- "We had the most peaceful stay we have had anywhere. Sitting in a hot tub with that view is a fantastic experience. Hosts are good at communicating and are proactive and thoughtful. Just the right amount of everything." - "This was just a beautiful property. The rooms were all new and updated with a beautiful bath. The check in/out process was easy and worry free. The island itself was so cute with tons of little shops, stores and restaurants. It was so relaxing to sit in the hot tube with the most amazing view as well as the sauna. If we could change one thing it would be that the room next to us ( St. Marks suite) was unoccupied the entire time we were there and definitely had the better views where you could see the ocean while laying in bed which we could not. When we first arrived we thought surely someone else will stay there but no-one ever came and since it was open we wish we could have stayed there. Nonetheless we had a fantastic time there and would go back in a heart beat."

- "The suite itself was clean, beautiful and easy to find. The location was gorgeous and in the perfect area for us. I would absolutely stay again!" - "Our stay was fantastic! The property is stunning and we loved the view! The suite was immaculate and well appointed. The bed was uber comfy. Highly highly recommend. Thank you vey much Melissa and Domenic" - "“Why leave”? That is what we kept telling ourselves. The proximity to the terminal and two 8 minute walks in each direction to key beaches and viewpoints makes this a perfect spot. If you like wellness retreats, you can do a self-guided one here with places to do yoga with breathtaking views and hot tub/sauna. You can easily do a cold plunge as well with the wonderful 100 step staircase the crafty owners built down to the water. So much potential and such flexible and open-minded owners. This is the new hidden gem of the island for professionals, teams, and couples who need an accessible retreat not far from the city."

Tucked into the forest canopy on Bowen Island, the Wildwood Cabins are authentic, hand crafted post and beam cabins built from local and reclaimed timber. Each cabin is clad in natural and charred cedar and has blended into the sword ferns, cedar, hemlock and fir trees that surround it. A Jotul woodstove, flannel sheets, vintage books and board games, cast iron cookware and a Nordic wood-fired barrel sauna are your tools for connecting with the simplicity of life in the woods.

- "Highly recommend for folks looking for a getaway close to Vancouver anytime of year. Wonderfully authentic log cabins set in an incomparably lovely and tranquil spot. Hosts are amazing and cabins are fully stocked with some lux touches (e.g. bedding, towels) Coastal and woodsy trails are close by as are a few great restaurants. Outdoor sauna, fire pit and yoga studio are also onsite!" - "The cosy cabin nestled in the woods was the perfect location to escape for a few days. Host couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Fresh eggs (and chickens!) were a lovely bonus. "

- "This very comfortable home has sweeping views of the ocean and mountains beyond. Easy access, well-appointed and clean. We would stay here agin for sure. Helen was very helpful before and during our stay. Well done!" - "I fell in love with this property, the view is phenomenal!! House was clean, beds were comfortable, almost everything you would need the house had available. Because of this house, we had the most amazing vacation at Vancouver. Also, Helen, host, was very communicative, there was no hot water on Saturday morning, but Helen made it happen and we were taken care of same day. I would just recommend you do your homework, especially with the ferry schedules as if you plan to visit other places, you need to go back to Vancouver and off again to another island, which means another ferry (no direct ferry to anywhere else other than back to horseshoe bay(Vancouver). This is a BEAUTIFUL place, look no further!"
