The Spotted Grouper is a delightful secluded Florida beach bungalow surrounded by twisted Sand Live Oaks. We are located on Bald Point beside Alligator Point, FL in a small, quiet beach neighborhood along the Forgotten Coast, surrounded by Bald Point State Park.
The house is 100 yards from the Gulf - to get there just walk down Grouper Street to the water-there are no streets to cross. It is a very secluded natural beach with lots of sea life where you can enjoy all the beauty of nature. You have gulf views from the living room as well as the porch and patio and the sound of the ocean can lull you to sleep at night. The fishing is fantastic, as are the local restaurants and seafood markets. The house is at ground level so you don't have stairs to climb which makes it very convenient for carrying suitcases and groceries into the home. It sleeps 6 with 1 queen bed and 1 double bed and also has a sleeper sofa in the LR.
We are 45 miles south of Tallahassee, 340 miles due south of Atlanta. The Spotted Grouper makes a perfect getaway if you like a quiet area that DOESN'T have a crowded beach with abundant wildlife and nature reminiscent of "Old Florida".

- "This is a rarity! Being able to find a small house on the beach was such an amazing opportunity and we had a great time. Especially with a young child and a dog it was so great to just be able to pop outside to the beach. The house is very cute! And the location is excellent. Even though alligator point is rural, you’re very close to the tiki bar and ~15 mins from Angelo’s which is a wonderful seafood restaurant. A couple of notes if bringing a baby: there is no bath, but we just used the kitchen sink, and the bedroom doesn’t close fully from the rest of the house so just bring a white noise machine (we used the ax in the bedroom) or plan to spend the evening out on the porch or in the hot tub :) Would fully recommend this place - we had such an amazing stay!!"

Our Cottage, ‘Miller’s High Life,’ sits on an acre ocean front lot with approximately half an acre fenced for your canine companions to walk and run free. This area of the Point is called Mud Cove where low tide provides an immense sandbar for shelling and high tide provides outstanding fishing. The Cottage contains a great room which includes the kitchen, living room and dining area with three sliding glass doors providing panoramic ocean views. Step through the doors to a screen porch to enjoy sunrises and sunsets from your porch swing. The screen porch and master bedroom open on to the deck for sunbathing with a back stairway down to the enclosed hot water outdoor shower. Hammock, picnic table, bench swing and gas grill are beneath the house for outdoor cooking and entertainment. Scraped wood floors throughout with new carpeting in the large master bedroom. A 42" flat screen T.V. is in the master bedroom and a 55" flat screen T.V. is in the great room. Half bath attached to master bedroom with full bath in the hall. "Minnie's" room has twin beds, chest, wicker desk and chair. Master has a king bed, nightstands, small chest and chair. Deck has teak benches, one teak chair and one chaise lounge. For dining, the adults can sit at the kitchen island on tall director's chairs with the children next to them at the dining table. - "The Fritz Carlton was so accommodating for our little fishing vacation. It was set up so nice and extremely clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay for the week. Very roomy ,didn’t feel crowded at all and pleanty parking. This was our first time to this part of Florida and we loved it! perfect place for our family vacation. My husband is an avid fisherman back home in Kentucky and his bucket list dream was to catch a redfish on a fly rod and reel and he accomplished that by catching a 26” huge redfish the third day we were there! So his dream came true. This is The perfect place to see amazing sunsets all kinds of wildlife ! while we were there we saw pleanty deer, squirrels , birds , and a couple dolphins swimming in the water behind the house and we did see a huge black bear roaming between the houses below this one on our way back from dinner one night and three wild boar pigs, which was so exciting to see. We enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return soon! We had an awesome time just touring the area and visiting several local antique shops and had the best seafood three nights while we were there along with great bbq from hammaknockers and Mexican food all from local restaurants. - "What a place to visit to make memories of a lifetime. Like seashell? This is your spot. Tiny to large and as many as you can take back with you. Wave were minimal. Great for little ones. During high tide though they got it was perfect for the 5 and up ages. Clean beaches. They even had turtle eggs buried up down the beach. I do recommend visiting on WED-SUN. For that you can hit the small amount of restaurants in the area. They are only open Thursday thur sunday. Get what you need before you get there the Walmart is 40 minutes out. We loved it and will return to the forgotten shores."

Inside our home, you’ll find two spacious bedrooms separated by the kitchen and living area which offer views of the canal. Each bedroom has a private, full bathroom and a sliding glass door to enjoy the deck. Kids will enjoy our set of bunk beds and everyone will appreciate the extra space each bedroom provides. Families will enjoy having their own privacy as the bedrooms are on opposite wings.

The open living area provides plenty of seating including a comfortable, sectional sofa and dining table large enough for 8 settings as well as 5 barstools along the countertop bar area and a kids table.

Enjoy morning coffee or grilling out on the deck while Spotting Blue Herons, Egrets, Bald Eagles and more!! If you spot one of Alligator Point's white squirrels, you'll surely have good luck.

Deborah was very prompt in answering messages. The home was spotless! If you like exploring, getting away, and wild life you are in for a real treat ! My husband caught fish, crabs, and two sharks. While exploring on the beach we seen crabs, stingray, star fish, dolphins, fish, horseshoe crabs, pelicans and seagulls. We also seen a small bear from a distance crossing the road. The gulf cart was so helpful getting back and forth from the beach and also fishing for my husband. If you are looking for crystal blue water this is not the beach for you but this was definitely not a deal breaker for us. This place has magical sunsets. The second public beach access has hundreds of shells of all types and sizes. I hate to even mention it because it is so minute but my only two complaints was lower water pressure and the bedrooms got a little warm at night. Although the ceiling fan helped some it was still warm at night in the bedrooms. A small personal fan on the night stands would help a lot. Our stay here was awesome !
