The bed is comfortable and the appliances are recent and in good shape. And the house is beautiful! There is all kinds of wonderful art both from Saverne as well as other places throughout the beautiful old staircase to the room. And the doormat at the entrance seems to be custom made to match the tiles: the whole place is full of these little attentions to detail that make it particularly special. We absolutely loved our stay and I don't think it could have been any better. "

Our cottage is new (end of 2014). It is located in a very quiet area, 10 minutes walk from the historic center of Colmar. We have converted our barn at the bottom of the garden into a charming gîte. 'La Grange' has a wooden frame facade and is fully renovated to BBC (low consumption building) standards.
The gîte is located on the first floor and has a surface of 75 m2. It is fully autonomous and has all the comforts (TV, internet- Wifi -Radio, etc ...).
On the ground floor, there is a spacious airlock which will allow you to deposit your belongings, your jackets, etc ... A staircase gives you access to the first floor. The cottage is composed of 2 bedrooms ('Charlie and Camille') delicately decorated, a spacious living room of more than 30 m2 and a fully equipped open kitchen. The bathroom and WC are separate.
We provide our visitors with a closed garage space located on the ground floor of the gîte. Thus, you can easily leave the car safely in our property and move on foot to the historic center of Colmar in less than 15 minutes.

The online pictures really don't do the house justice. The bed is a UK king-size and very comfortable, the shower is good as is the induction hob cooker. The property lacks nothing at all. Outside, there is various areas to eat or relax and evening glasses of wine on the balcony with views of the valley were fantastic. The house itself is easy to find and sits above the village of Oderen. Your morning bread isn't too far away and the village has an excellent Auberge which we used both at lunchtime and at night. A really good Super U is in Fellering, which is less than a 10 min drive away. The hosts Jean-Paul and Josseline are lovely. They stay in the house next door but the design of the rental property provides separate space and privacy, with the advantage of having friendly and knowledgeable hosts next door. We are keen hikers and the property is right in the centre of countless stunning walks. That said, mountain and road cycling is popular in the area and the nearby lake attracted many kayaker and paddle boarders. Colmar and Eguisheim are 'must visit' places. We have been holidaying in France (using rental properties) for a long time and I can recommend this property and area wholeheartedly. 10/10."

We stayed in early June and the daily high temperatures were in the low 70s F and nightly lows were in the mid to upper 50s. We were very comfortable. I don't believe there is air conditioning, so that may factor into your decision should you come in the middle of July. It exceeded my expectations in every way. The town is quaint, the countryside is bucolic defined. The access to neighboring towns and tourist sites is quite easy. We had dinner (wine, cheese, bread, fruits and pastries) every night on the tiny back balcony that overlooked the garden and watched the storks nesting no more than 50m away. Had to pinch myself at how awe inspiringly gorgeous the house was. 100/100 would recommend."
