- "We had a great stay at Oderen. The house is perfectly clean and in perfect shape. The hosts are very friendly and even understood my poor French. The online pictures really don't do the house justice. The bed is a UK king-size and very comfortable, the shower is good as is the induction hob cooker. The property lacks nothing at all. Outside, there is various areas to eat or relax and evening glasses of wine on the balcony with views of the valley were fantastic. The house itself is easy to find and sits above the village of Oderen. Your morning bread isn't too far away and the village has an excellent Auberge which we used both at lunchtime and at night. A really good Super U is in Fellering, which is less than a 10 min drive away. The hosts Jean-Paul and Josseline are lovely. They stay in the house next door but the design of the rental property provides separate space and privacy, with the advantage of having friendly and knowledgeable hosts next door. We are keen hikers and the property is right in the centre of countless stunning walks. That said, mountain and road cycling is popular in the area and the nearby lake attracted many kayaker and paddle boarders. Colmar and Eguisheim are 'must visit' places. We have been holidaying in France (using rental properties) for a long time and I can recommend this property and area wholeheartedly. 10/10."

It is an independent gîte in a peaceful location, surrounded by greenery with a view of the Romanesque Abbey.

4 kilometers from the wine route, the Alsatian vineyard and its typical villages such as Eguisheim, Kaysersberg, Riquewihr and Ribeauvillé named the most beautiful villages of France or, if you want to take the height, the crest route awaits you, by car or on foot.

Colmar and its Unterlinden museum, Mulhouse and its automobile and railway museums are around 30 km away and the famous Haut-Koenigsbourg castle is around 60 km away. Switzerland and the Black Forest in Germany are around 60 km away.

Also ideal for hiking, walks in the Vosges and mountain biking circuits: the Grand Ballon and its stubble, the forest, its flora and fauna and the small Ballon lake nestled in the heart of the mountain. The terraces are on a covered porch with fine views overlooking a pond surrounded by wood and a second one in the courtyard.
