- "We are a family of four, with two college-age children, and had a wonderful stay at the Samovar. We stayed in one of the family rooms, which was perfect for us (with two beds in a spacious upstairs loft). The hotel is perfectly located -- literally across the street from the Dailles gondola (and only about a block from the funicular to the summit). There are a couple of restaurants nearby, including a great Savoyarde spot across the street. There is a regular shuttle bus to the main village of Val d'Isere that leaves from right in front of the hotel as well (and it's only a 20 minute and very scenic walk to the village anyway). The ski room is convenient (and heated). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious (if fairly standard for a European hotel of this quality), and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The spa was a big plus as well, with a sauna and jacuzzi pool in the basement. Finally, the staff deserve special mention -- particularly Abdur at the front desk. He was friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, consistently asked how things were going. On our last day, when we asked to store our luggage after checkout for the day while we skiied, he graciously took charge of our seemingly endless number of bags, stored them for the day, and then brought them down to the side entrance so we could easily load them into the car. All in all, a terrific hotel. We are already looking forward to our next visit!"

If you are looking for an authentic winter holiday in the mountains, my chalet can hold your attention to the extent that it has, in my opinion, the following qualities.
First of all, it is very well located, since in the immediate vicinity of the NEUVACHE piste (less than 20 meters) which gives you access to all of the 150 km of pistes in the resort (Valmeinier / Valloire ski area ).
At the same time, you will stay in a quiet place surrounded by nature, while remaining very close to the station, its shops and its entertainment (less than 400 meters).
In addition, you will have all the comforts of a modern house even if the alpine chalet side has been carefully preserved. For example, the roof is made of real slate, stones which were imported from Greece via an Italian stonemason. 13 tonnes of slate were laid to cover the roof.
The chalet is also the starting point for walks or snowshoe walks in the Valmeinier nature reserve.
It is therefore obviously also the ideal place for those who appreciate the practice of ski touring. This is also a point that should be emphasized because in addition to the practice of piste skiing, the chalet is a privileged starting point for those who wish to reach the Col de Marches, Roche Noire, la Roche du Lac and even the Thabord in ski touring.
For beginners, a stroll to the recently opened refuge of the red earth can be organized and allows you to stroll in the heart of nature while admiring magnificent landscapes.

Two optional services are offered. First of all cleaning can be carried out by us on the day of your departure, for an additional charge of 60 euros. Likewise, sheets and towels can be provided for the same amount.

To be more precise on the localization, two point deserve to be noted.
The first is that the location announced by the site, 1. 6 km from the center, is wrong. Indeed, the chalet is precisely located 350 meters from the shops of Valmeinier 1800. Likewise, on google maps, the location is not entirely exact. The chalet is along the Neuvache piste, just after (around 100 meters) from the Casses ski lift. I reported these anomalies to the host of the site who indicated that I could not make the necessary changes.

Given its location at the edge of the Neuvache piste, it is therefore important to specify that in winter, the chalet is not accessible by car. You will park your vehicle in the Valmeinier 1800 (free) car park and will have to walk the last 350 meters. I can provide you with sleds to transport your luggage and, as I personally handle the reception, help you transport it on the day of your arrival.
This is essential to take into account at the time of your choice.
In return, you will benefit from a chalet located in a magnificent setting and close to the nature reserve.

This small chalet built in 2017 has a large, bright south facing, quiet on the edge of a small wood where we see the squirrels climb trees, it is at the same time very close to the center of Val d'Isere. The real mountain near the village. You put on your skis 200 meters from the chalet to reach the roundabout in a few minutes, even children, accompanied, can join their ski school. My 5 year old son does it, and he loves it!
Our family keeps growing, we built this small chalet, adjoining our large chalet (ad 6292005) but completely independent. We can now accommodate up to 20 people: 20 in the large and 6 in the small.
The small cottage is very comfortable we inaugurated at Christmas 2017, it has seduced everyone. Upstairs you will find 2 beautiful rooms with exposed beams overlooking the Val d'Isère. One with a large double bed and its private bathroom with bath and shower, the other with 4 bunk beds two out of two and its private bathroom with walk-in shower.
On the landing of the toilet and a small laundry room. On the ground floor a large entrance with a shoe warmer closet and toilet, in the large living room a fully equipped American kitchen oven, microwave, nespresso etc. ..a nice dining-room table for 8 people, a large TV, and especially a beautiful fireplace and a comfortable sitting area. Outside on the stoop, a ski room where you will also find wood for the fireplace. If you come by car, you can park on the estate, you also have a covered car park nearby (against payment) against the Aqua Sport Center. If you do not ski, like me, you have before you the sunniest pedestrian promenade of the station. While walking in this valley of Manchet, you will see on one side the skiers descend from Bellevarde by the track of Santons or Tour du Charvet, on the other hand the skiers come down from Solaise, in the sky the paragliders. You can also take a ride with the sled dogs. In bad weather, children can go to play, swim or frolic in the large swimming pool of the Aqua Sport center, or for the sports enthusiasts the other swimming pool for laps or fitness rooms very well equipped. A free shuttle bus goes up to the ski resort of La Rosière 1850 m (and back down) stops at the hamlet, making it easy to get to the ski slopes without taking your vehicle.

Possible ski downhill to the chalet for confirmed skiers.

For the Christmas and New Year period the cottage is only rented by the week.
