- "We enjoyed our stay very much, having been welcomed by its owners and shown where everything was. It was well-equipped, clean and comfortable. You can't get far quickly in the Cevennes! Lots of windy, narrow roads and mountains, but Le Pompidou was well located to get around to most of the places on our to visit list. The scenery is impressive and the history fascinating. It was great walking through the chestnut forests when the chestnuts were falling (we did eat a lot) though never quite sussed out the Chasse presence - even Tourist Information in Florac were unsure! Fortunately we didn't clash. We kept tripping over RL Stevenson on GR70 so I ended up reading Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes -in the Cevennes! Indifferent to it at school, but enjoyed it a lot in context. Much amused by the fact that the relevant leaflet details the very many accommodations that welcome donkeys! The nearby Gorge du Tarn is jaw dropping."

Located as it is at the very end of a secluded Cevenol valley; the last house in a tiny hamlet at about 500 m, The Wooden House gives the sense that it is almost perched on its south-facing slope. The space
The house is constructed on two levels and there is access to the house from either level. It has been built using ecological materials. The bespoke bedroom is on the ground floor and opens onto a shady private terrace. On the first floor there is a well-equipped corner kitchen giving onto a sitting room, which can also convert into a second double bedroom with a sofa bed; (see above). This salon opens onto a large, open terrace with incredible views overlooking the valley. This is a wonderful place to eat outside, soaking up the sunshine or looking at the stars.

Coming from Ales, follow the N106. When you reach le Collet de Deze continue on the N106 for a further 11 kms. Take a right turn onto the D29 (just before St Privat de Vallongue) and follow it for approximately 3.5 kms at which point take a left turn signposted Cessenades. Continue on this small lane until you reach the last house in the hamlet, which is The Wooden House. Driving past the house you will find a large parking area about 200 metres further down.

We live in a very tranquil, tiny hamlet: five families live here all year round. There is acces, about 10 minutes’ walk away from the property, to some beautiful areas suitable for river bathing and an almost infinite number of possibilities in terms of circular walking routes.

My place is good for couples, solo travelers and families (with kids). Each room has its own bathroom. Ideally located 5 minutes from the Mas De La Barque leisure resort (electric mountain bike rental, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding...), 15 minutes from the village of Villefort and its amenities and finally the lake and its nautical base.

Forget the city and the stress in the middle of the national parc in Cévennes. You will enjoy the swimming pool for a relaxing day or walks or rides arounds. At the end of a very small hamlet, you are surounded by the forest. Grossery store 15 min driving, 5 minutes walking to a "green path", rivers, lacs, kayak, amazing landscapes,...

Close to the Cévennes National Park, beautiful large wooden house with stunning views of Lake Villefort. We invite you to enjoy the calm of its privileged environment and to enjoy walks or running from the cottage. A few hundred meters from the lake you will enjoy swimming in the lake and river, a canoe or pedal boat trip, a tree climbing course or via ferrata and many outdoor activities for adults and children.

Another small cottage built on stilts offers a fifth bedroom with terrace and garden furniture, outdoor shower and dry toilet.

Cottage located in the heart of nature, 500 meters from Lake Villefort and 5 km from the amenities offered by the village of Villefort where you will find all the services. This chalet built on a rocky peak offers stunning views of the lake and Mont Lozère. From the accommodation, many trails allow access to the lake, the medieval village of La Garde-Guérin, as well as the Chassezac gorges (canyon and climbing sites). The proximity of the Cévennes National Park allows access by car in 30 minutes to the high plateaus of Mont Lozère and to hike the Pic Cassini (highest point of the southern Massif Central). You will enjoy a 360° view of Mont Blanc, Mont Ventoux, the Mediterranean, Sancy, Puy de Dome, Mont Gerbier de Jonc...
You can also discover, within 1.5 hours, the tourist highlights of the Ardèche gorges and the Chauvet cave, the Tarn and Jonte gorges, the Loups du Gévaudan animal park. Closer, you can enjoy with your family, the Vallon du Villaret nature and art leisure park and to relax in the Aqua Calida thermal spa in Bagnols-les-Bains.
A few hundred meters away, Lake Villefort, its tree climbing and water activities as well as the Grandeur Nature outdoor center which offers you a varied range of outdoor activities.
