- "We enjoyed our stay in this humble but friendly dwelling. There's a nice garden at the back that leads to the river where we've had picknicks and barbequeues." - "It’s hard to find holiday lets which accept dogs, so even before we arrived we were very happy with le chalet ‘L’amitié’. But this property really is a little gem. It’s set back well from the (very quiet) road and most of the large outdoor space is enclosed. Through a gate there’s also access to the beautiful river and a canoe for guests to use. Being a chalet, we were very pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped the property was, with everything you need in the kitchen area and a good-sized bathroom. You will need to take your own sheets (and if there are four of you the second bed is a sofa bed in the living room). As other reviewers have said, there’s a boulangerie just down the road (which sells some other groceries, too) and a café / bar / maison de la presse. We also walked to a very good restaurant on the other side of the bridge - it takes about 15 minutes. There’s a good choice of other restaurants a short drive away. The owner made us very welcome and gave us some great advice for walks - our 14 year old Labrador loved the flat footpath by the river, which is also a cycleway connecting the villages in the river valley. It’s a great area to explore both for its walking and the industrial heritage. We’ll be back !"
