- "We are a family of four, with two college-age children, and had a wonderful stay at the Samovar. We stayed in one of the family rooms, which was perfect for us (with two beds in a spacious upstairs loft). The hotel is perfectly located -- literally across the street from the Dailles gondola (and only about a block from the funicular to the summit). There are a couple of restaurants nearby, including a great Savoyarde spot across the street. There is a regular shuttle bus to the main village of Val d'Isere that leaves from right in front of the hotel as well (and it's only a 20 minute and very scenic walk to the village anyway). The ski room is convenient (and heated). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious (if fairly standard for a European hotel of this quality), and the dinner at the hotel restaurant was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. The spa was a big plus as well, with a sauna and jacuzzi pool in the basement. Finally, the staff deserve special mention -- particularly Abdur at the front desk. He was friendly, welcoming, and always helpful, consistently asked how things were going. On our last day, when we asked to store our luggage after checkout for the day while we skiied, he graciously took charge of our seemingly endless number of bags, stored them for the day, and then brought them down to the side entrance so we could easily load them into the car. All in all, a terrific hotel. We are already looking forward to our next visit!"

- "Large chalet which accommodated 11 of us from 4 different families very well. The kitchen and living area is very spacious and comfortable and was ideal for both eating and chatting. The kitchen is well appointed, with everything you would need to cook for 11 (+) and we ate in 5 of the 7 nights. Bedrooms are a little on the small side but we only used them to sleep in, and the mattresses were very comfortable. There is a garage in which we kept our skis, and a boot warmer/ dryer. The chalet is excellently located - about 50m from the flattish end of the santons red run from the top of Belvarde. Weaker skiers would need to get the free yellow bus from town to get back, but these run every 20 minutes and stop at the end of the road (about 70m away). We walked into and back from town on two nights and its about 10 minutes - we preferred being away from the centre of town as it is quieter in the evenings. All in all, we were very happy there for our week of skiing and would strongly recommend the chalet"

On the 1st floor you will find an open space with a view on the river "Isère", the Galise and the Iseran path. It is composed of the fully equipped kitchen, the club/lounge area, the dining room and the living room with its cosy atmosphere and fireplace.
The mezzanine on top offers a playing area for the younger (some card/board games are provided) as well as 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds and a shared bath room.

- "Emmanuelle's chalet was perfect for us, with lots of space and well laid out so that we had room to relax - and what a lovely view up the valley. We also really liked the location in Laisinant as it was quiet but close to town, and has a great red run down to the lift/chalet - which is much nicer than the red off Solaise down into Val centre!" - "Good sized chalet for 10 people. Comfortable beds, and well appointed. Ski lift right outside front door, and bus stop 50m away. Bus is very regular and free of charge, ideal if you don’t want to use the descent slope back to the chalet which is steep in parts. You have the option of using the pomma down into the village. Parking available for 1 medium size car, and paying car parking outside chalet cost 86 euros for 1week. You can book in advance or pay on departure. Chalet stairs are quite steep so care required here for v young, elderly, and tipsy. Housekeeper Justine was very helpful and responsive to our questions. Shops 10 minute walk or use the bus. Loved this chalet, one of the best in 35 years of skiing for a large group, and would not hesitate to recommend."

This small chalet built in 2017 has a large, bright south facing, quiet on the edge of a small wood where we see the squirrels climb trees, it is at the same time very close to the center of Val d'Isere. The real mountain near the village. You put on your skis 200 meters from the chalet to reach the roundabout in a few minutes, even children, accompanied, can join their ski school. My 5 year old son does it, and he loves it!
Our family keeps growing, we built this small chalet, adjoining our large chalet (ad 6292005) but completely independent. We can now accommodate up to 20 people: 20 in the large and 6 in the small.
The small cottage is very comfortable we inaugurated at Christmas 2017, it has seduced everyone. Upstairs you will find 2 beautiful rooms with exposed beams overlooking the Val d'Isère. One with a large double bed and its private bathroom with bath and shower, the other with 4 bunk beds two out of two and its private bathroom with walk-in shower.
On the landing of the toilet and a small laundry room. On the ground floor a large entrance with a shoe warmer closet and toilet, in the large living room a fully equipped American kitchen oven, microwave, nespresso etc. ..a nice dining-room table for 8 people, a large TV, and especially a beautiful fireplace and a comfortable sitting area. Outside on the stoop, a ski room where you will also find wood for the fireplace. If you come by car, you can park on the estate, you also have a covered car park nearby (against payment) against the Aqua Sport Center. If you do not ski, like me, you have before you the sunniest pedestrian promenade of the station. While walking in this valley of Manchet, you will see on one side the skiers descend from Bellevarde by the track of Santons or Tour du Charvet, on the other hand the skiers come down from Solaise, in the sky the paragliders. You can also take a ride with the sled dogs. In bad weather, children can go to play, swim or frolic in the large swimming pool of the Aqua Sport center, or for the sports enthusiasts the other swimming pool for laps or fitness rooms very well equipped. Relaxation also counts, Hammam and saunas ..In the evening to party "La Doudoune", is a few minutes walk, the restaurant l'Etincelle too. You will go on our part, Sebastien and Carole Frizon will offer you a glass of champagne. Le Chatelard is an exceptional place in Val d'Isère, the calm and the magnificent views of the mountain and still close to the village, a quarter of an hour walk, I go pushing the stroller of the little ones, you have also a free shuttle.
For shopping you can have it delivered. To rent your equipment we recommend "Sport shop" on the snow front, if you come from us Jean Marc may grant you a small discount.

Although it is a reasonable distance from the centre of town (ie a fifteen minute walk), the free bus service works extremely well and is very reliable. - "The chalet was absolutely perfect for our requirements. We were a group of 11, being two families (including some of our children's partners) and found the chalet had plenty of space to accommodate us all. The bedrooms all being en-suite was a bonus and the boot storage area and lower hallway was great as it kept all their coats, boots, shoes etc. out of the main living/kitchen area! Having the youngsters downstairs meant they left their stuff in their own rooms rather than scattering their belongings in the main living area upstairs! The location of the chalet was also great. We actually preferred being slightly out of the main town. By bus it is just 3 stops into the centre of Val d'Isere and takes about 5 minutes and they run every few minutes from 7am to 4am! Great if you want a late night out. It is also a nice walk into the centre. The Spar (one stop by bus or 5 minute walk) was really well stocked with wine and food. For the skiers, the chairlift is less than a 2 minute walk and you can pretty much ski back direct to the chalet. The owners were fantastic to deal with and if we had any questions/queries their son was able to pop into the chalet within a few minutes. We have no hesitation in recommending both the chalet and their owners and will defintely book again.,"

Only downside is the parking isn’t onsite (you can load and unload at the apartment) it is over a mile away in a public car park (free) open to the elements However Jason (agent) was so accommodating by picking us up and dropping back when need to get car. Residence: The Chalet la Grande Sassière is located in the famous resort of Val d'Isère, placed on a quiet private road, which offers a breathtaking view of the valley. The chalet is located in the "Le Cret" district of the resort, about a 12 minute walk from the center of Val d'Isère, roughly halfway between La Daille and Val d'Isère, which is ideal if you want to go towards the slopes of Tignes, because access is quick from La Daille. For a quicker trip to town, a free shuttle stops a few minutes' walk from the chalet.
