Welcome to our lovely fishing community! We are located on the beautiful Arroyo Colorado River that is part of the intracoastal water way. From the dock you will catch Tarpon, Red Fish, Snook and Trout. Bring your boat to access the bay in 10 minutes and South Padre Island in less than a hour. (2 public boat launches are less than 2 miles away) There is plenty of good fishing! There are many things to do in this area. We are a 1/2 hour from the Laguna Madre National Refuge, Mexico border towns, shopping and outlet malls.

The space:
There are stairs leading to the second floor.
Guests may use all available kitchen appliances.
Bath towels and linens are available for guest use. Bring your own beach towel.
The propane grill is not functioning, but we have a charcoal grill available for guest use. Bring your own charcoal.
We share a dock with our next door neighbor. It is separated by a barrier, so please stay on our side.

We are located on the Beautiful Arroyo Colorado River which is part of the intercoastal water way. We have barge traffic up and down the river to the Port of Harlingen. Our dock is set up for night fishing with water, electricity, and fish cleaning station on the dock. We have 1 boat slip that can accommodate bay fishing boats up to 25 feet. You can go by boat to the Bay in 10 minuets and to South Padre Island in less than a hour(30 minutes by car). There is plenty of good fishing . From the dock you can catch speckle trout, snook, red/black drum, and sheep head . We routinely see Dolphins swimming in the river, pelicans flying, white tails and turkeys roaming the neighborhoods with occasional views of exotic wild life (axis deer and Nilgai) across the waterway.

We are excited to share The Hideaway with you! We are 45ish minutes from South Padre Island so you can easily go spend the day at the beach and come home to quiet fishing and grilling. This house is unique because there are two full kitchens, two full living areas, basically two homes in one. We know that you will come to love it as much as we do.

World Birding Center is around the corner, but honestly you can sit on one of the decks and watch the hummingbirds, the green and Ringed Kingfishers, and green jays right from the comfort of your pjs and coffee.

Take your boat from our boat lift and in less than 10 minutes you will be fishing at Laguna Madre for tarpen, snook, redfish, and trout.

Salty River Lodge is the perfect location for anyone that loves to fish, hunt or get away from it all. We are conveniently located next to Adolph Thomae County park and are just a short boat ride away to the Lower Laguna Madre, where you'll find some of the best fishing and hunting in Texas. You'll enjoy beautiful sunsets and catching speckled trout off our lighted pier. Our boat house can accommodate bay boats up to 24' in length. We can also set you up with local fishing / hunting guides.

The space
This is 2 story home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bath. Sleeping accommodations for up to 10 guest with 4 full sized beds and 1 king size bed. Your own private covered outdoor grilling area with picnic tables and access to fire pit ready for s’mores. Fish all day or night with plenty of lighting and fishing rod holder along lower and upper deck. 2 Kayaks are available ( 275 lb weight limit) at an additional $25 each for the length of your stay. Outdoor cameras facing pier and front of property are operational for the personal protection of our property while vacant. There is an Alexa on the living room end table within guest reach to use with Bluetooth speaker capability. Absolutely no indoor or outdoor pets. No indoor smoking please.
Guest access
Private property with full access to house, covered grill area pavilion, and your own private double deck pier with boat dock. Please be mindful of neighboring residents with music and speakers. They have requested a 10 pm to 7am in accordance to noise ordinance, turn down of outside noise/music is appreciated.
Other things to note
Our home has stairs leading up to the doors. One bedroom and bathroom is downstairs with the other 2 bedrooms upstairs and another full walk-in shower. There is additional stairs leading to the patio area and pier. This property may not be suitable for wheelchair access.

- "The property was just as described in the pictures. It was well maintained, and we had no issues with the property during our stay. Property owners were available by phone when we had difficulty accessing key. Neighbors were also quiet which was also nice. Home has all basic kitchen tools, microwave, stove, outdoor grill and a nice fire pit. The pier was large enough for our group. The outdoor area was well lit. It was overall a good trip."

Spacious living area and easy access to our lighted pier. 4 bedrooms and 2 new bathrooms. Central AC - 2 units. 2400 square feet. Sleeps 9-10 comfortably.
The Upper Level, VIP level. The entire second floor, with full kitchen stocked with appliances, bar, gathering area and balcony overlooking the water. 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms including a large master bathroom with a full size washer and dryer. 4 TV's , WIFI, Central AC - 2 units. Elevator. 2600 square feet. Perfect for a large group or family. Sleeps 14 comfortably.
