Cozy but roomy fully-furnished two bedroom cottage on a heartbreakingly beautiful 13 acre lot in Ohio's rolling Amish country. Located in the picturesque Victorian town of Deersville, five to ten minutes drive from fishing and boating on both Tappan Lake and Lake Clendenning and twenty-five minutes drive from the bustling burg of New Philadelphia, Fleming's Family Cottage is a peaceful, private haven.

Sunlight pours in through the skylight in the huge upstairs bedroom, which features a comfy queen bed and a twin bed separated by a low partition. Two huge closets and a dresser invite you to stay for a while; An overstuffed chair and ottoman tempt you to sit and read or take a nap; A desk and chair with a tree laden window view beckons you to write or think; And a TV nook stocked with videos gives the kids something to do when they're tuckered out from their day at the lake.

Downstairs, an elegant bedroom with a queen sized bed, a private window, dresser and roomy closet, connects to a bright, contemporary bathroom, with tub and shower and lots of cupboards. A bright and spacious modern eat-in kitchen looks out onto the stunning front lawn. The living room, with it's high ceilings, is comfortable and gracious, its window also framing the rolling, tree-graced lawn.

But though the house is wonderfully inviting, you'll find yourself drawn to wander the beautiful forested property. Dotted with tall fir trees, maples and willow trees, the property is breathtakingly beautiful in every season. A winding, tree-shaded path leads you to a large, cattail-fringed private pond stocked with fish. Dragonflies zigzag in the warm spring and summer air.

Deer, safe from hunters on this land, dart in and out of the foliage, watching you as you follow the path up and over large and ancient rock formations, and make your way into a dense forest. Surrounded by whispering trees, and the occasional tap-tap-whirr of a woodpecker's beak pecking into hard wood, you will visibly relax. At night, the stars fill the sky, owls hoot, and pond frogs peep in a loud chorus, lulling you to an easy sleep.

For an excellent lunch and a tour of the Railroad Museum, visit Depot Town, fifteen minutes drive away in Dennison. New Philadelphia, with it's coffee houses, shops, movie theater, restaurants and busy summer entertainment schedule, is a scenic 25 minute drive away. 45 Minutes to an hour away is the heart of Ohio's famous Amish Country. Deersville is on the Register of Historical Places, and is one hour south of Akron, Ohio and one hour West of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Please Note: Very occasionally, the owners of the property travel down from Michigan to stay at the Mobile Home to do necessary maintenance work to keep the property (including the Cottage) up-to-date. The Mobile Home is over 200 feet from the Cottage and there is a tall privacy fence about 25 feet from the Cottage (and the sitting area). The Mobile Home is tucked away, and the property owners assure complete privacy for their guests.

There was plenty of land for them to roam and plenty of privacy, though the neighbors arent terribly far away (which gave me some comfort as a female traveling alone). I have tmobile and didn't have any sevice. That served me just fine but it's worth noting. You can turn left off Morrow, left at the next stop sign, then down the road a mile or so, on the right, there is a pull off by the lake i used to stop at and check in with the outside world. 10/10 would reccomend."

Small lake house off of marina road by Piedmont Lake, Ohio available for weekly or weekend rental. The cabin is on a quiet gravel road just off of the main road to the marina, and once in the yard it’s as though you are in a world of your own.

The cabin has 2 bedrooms(2 twins each), full kitchen, large living area with 2 pull out couches and a futon, and 1 bathroom. The large lot has a pavilion, charcoal grill, and spot for a camp fire. Just a short 1/4 mile drive to the boat ramp, or just cross the street to public hunting land with miles of hiking available.

Close enough to clendening, salt fork, and tappan lake to stay here; and trailer your boat to a different lake each day. Piedmont has great fishing, and the marina rents pontoon boats, fishing boats, and kayaks. With a 10hp limit piedmont is enjoyable on a kayak, paddle board or, canoe since you don’t have to worry about large wakes. There is a few who bring out their sail boats, but it isn’t for beginners due to all the coves and turns changing wind directions.

The fishing at piedmont is some of the best in the state, and holds the Musky record still. I enjoy cat fishing the most, and the kids love catching bluegill and saugeye. With fishing as good as it is, often you see the bald eagles and osprey doing the same.

Please note that this is a fishing/hunting cabin and as such it does have some minor issues. It is by no means a five star resort, so please plan accordingly. The cabin does operate off of a well, so water conservation is often required. There is a well manager system that displays a light if water is getting low, so guests can conserve accordingly. While we do have plans for remodeling in the future, it is currently useable but dated. Read Less

2 bedroom house right on Marina Road! This house has everything you need to enjoy a week or even just a couple of nights at the lake. The house is conveniently located on Marina road, with a large driveway big enough to accommodate your boat during your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cooking items, and has a electric stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator. The large countertop allows for plenty of room for prepping meals, or setting up your buffet. The living room has two couches, shuffleboard, and a 55” flat screen tv(no cable but you can always stream with your online account). And of course it wouldn’t be a trip to the lake without a camp fire at least one night, and the fire pit in the yard is the perfect spot for it.

The lake is so beautiful and peaceful! We rented a pontoon boat for half a day and went fishing/swimming. They also have kayaks at the property you can use (if you can haul) and there is a kayak launch at the marina. Salt Fork Lake is about a half hour drive if you're looking for a higher HP lake. - "Property was central for friends’ participating in a 200 mile door race. We used it as a home base. Melissa was so helpful when we needed to find grocery and laundromat. Have it deersville general store so close was a bonus, too. We were surprised but NOT disappointed about it really being one bedroom. Still had plenty of sleeping space. Having such large bathrooms (and having 2) was also a huge bonus. The runners needed showers and rest a couple of times. The hunters on the group were impressed. Great cabin in a beautiful area."

A very rural country set cabin w/ a small fishing pond, ( catch and release only) -between Tappan & Clendening lakes. A great place for families to step into the country and experience country living while enjoying each other w/o internet service or many electronically devices..Be sure to visit the Deersville General Store in Deersville ohio the town is over 200 years old and has amazing award winning homemade ice cream, made in an 1942 ice cream machine! Our last day we really couldn’t do much outside because they were mowing all around us on the grounds so we drove around down by the campgrounds and the dam until they were done around 4ish then at that the grass started to get wet from being freshly cut and it was everywhere ! But all n all in was a great place to stay !"

Rare opportunity to rent a lake-front home at Tappan Lake! Enjoy lake views from the large bay windows or go out and catch fish from the back yard. Our favorite place is the large deck overlooking the water with a large outdoor dining table and Blackstone for cooking. There are 3 full beds, a sleeper sofa, and couch to accommodate up to 9 guests. For larger groups, we have an additional 2-bedroom home across the street that can be booked as well.

The main floor has a kitchen and dining area, living room, 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath with a shower. There is an additional bedroom and full bath in the lower level as well as a second living room with sleeper sofa.

- "The house is laid out very nice. We have a handicapped family member that had no issues getting around the house. If traveling with a handicap person, the shower isn't great and you'll need to use the fishing doc just down the road that is specifically for handicap. We were able to fish from the backyard and relax in the spacious beautiful deck. The traffic is noticeable since it's so close to the main road, but the location is nice to be at the marina or beach in 5 min or less. All in all, we would stay here again!"

Our very unique A-Frame cabin, everything is original in design. About this space
Spend the warm sunny days on Beautiful Piedmont Lake and come back and enjoy the quiet peacful evenings around the campfire.
There is an additional (not included)full rv hook up, and a poontoon boat (4 last photos) available for rent as well.
The space
This is one of the closest lots to the Marina and Boat Launch. with a large yard and patio for a fire.
Keep in mind the poontoon is parked on the property and may be picked up or dropped off by other renters at any time if you do not have it rented yourself.
The rv hook up however is right next to ours and we won't rent that out separate from our rv.
There is also a small Bait-n-Tackle shop on the property.
Guest access
You well have access to the rv, patio, yard, and driveway.
Other things to note
There is a water shortage in this area so I did my very best to provide you with enough water to enjoy a warm shower whenever you want, by installing two 275 gallon water storage tanks which should be enough for about 25 showers!!! On extended stays you can request a refill or see if the well is producing any water. The rv also has a 55 gal tank which we keep filled for backup!

As far as I know the water is safe for drinking however I recommend bringing bottled water for drinking.

The ac does work however if it's really warm it will struggle to properly cool down the entire rv.
