There are many great homes you can rent but if the weather turns are there enough things to do to occupy your guests? Here your plan B is covered. Candlewood Isle is located 80 minutes from Manhattan and sits in the middle of Candlewood Lake which is 11 miles long. Our home is on the top of a ridge overlooking the lake on a dead-end road. The house is not lakefront, however, it is a 1-minute drive to the clubhouse beach. Or a short walk. This home is one of the most private homes on the whole Island. The house features everything you could ever want to do for your vacation, even if it rains the home offers plenty of features to keep you occupied. You can even still have an outside BBQ with our huge covered patio under the deck. There is a pool table, ping pong table, shuffleboard table, 3 bars (2 inside) (and one outside) a movie theatre that converts to a disco, a music studio, and for those that don't play an instrument, there is a professional karaoke system that provides hours of fun. The home has two wood-burning fireplaces, a 1,600 sq foot deck with two top-of-the-line Weber grills & a smoker. There is a nice flat yard as well as a fire pit and patio/bar in the back with a Bluetooth audio system The home has 5 smart TVs as well as audio systems throughout the home inside and out. It also has a hot tub that seats 7 people on the deck overlooking the lake. NOTE: The home is built as 6 bedrooms, however, two of those rooms have been converted into a theatre and the other a music studio. You may have these rooms set up as bedrooms if the current sleeping arrangements don't meet your needs, the theatre has a king sleeper sofa however the house can sleep 12 without utilizing these rooms.

Relax, read and just hang out in "a room with a view" with 2 6 x 8 picture windows that offer spectacular views of the lake. This sitting room has 3 cozy couches and a fireplace with a TV mounted above.

The main floor, which has french doors leading out to the lake, has a 9 foot rustic farm table that all can break bread together. The fully stocked kitchen with all of the comforts of home has a butcher block countertop and stainless appliances. A big cozy couch (which is a sleep sofa) can seat many to either hangout or watch a good movie on the TV that is mounted over the other fireplace.

Behind the sliding barn door is a bar area with a half bath and a perfect area for cocktails and conversation. Toys, games and other goodies for your littles are in the back area to keep your little ones occupied. A bar complete with barstools and plenty of storage for your weekly supplies during your stay.

While we could go on about the house... the community has plenty to offer to families. Just a short walk is a ball field, and bocci and horseshoe courts. Jungle gym, hoops court as well as a tennis court if you want to get away for an hour or so. The beach in the front of the house is the best though. Walk the kids down, and set up for the day.

- "Great property and location" - "stayed here for a week with my wife. plenty of places to relax, dock for swimming (or rafting/floating) close to restaurants and grocery stores. the lake can be a bit busy with boats, more so than i expected so the water can be a bit choppy at times. otherwise the physical location can’t be beat. the house itself was fantastic very clean well stocked, plenty of places to sit and relax. the questions we had were promptly answered by the property manager Lisa. definitely would recommend for adults or older kids; it’s a lot of steps down to the dock but luckily plenty of places to catch your breath if needed on the way back up."

Working vacation? No problem! We’ve got you covered with an office desk setup that includes a printer & monitor to work from while looking directly out at the water! It is OK to work on vacation, as long as you do it right!

Conveniently located via Route 39 just an hour and twenty minutes from NYC. Driveway can fit multiple vehicle's. Plenty of room if you are towing a boat, jet-skis, quads, or RV's. Boat launch is just .5 miles away! Launch the boat and dock it at your private dock in Squantz Pond. Or, you can go down the road a bit to Candlewood Lake where there is also a boat launch. Just remember, Squantz Pond and Candlewood Lake do not connect.

The living rooms 65 inch smart TV is complete with all the apps you need to sign in & watch for your entertainment! The sound bar and subwoofer are great for movie nights.

Which is also a rental on VRBO, so other guests may be seen or pass through to access the kayaks and/or boat dock. The dock accommodates 2 boats so there is no problem if the other guest happens to be there at the same time with their boat - but that is an extremely rare occurrence.

Vacation at this Unique Lake Front Home with a huge open living area located at the most private section on Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, CT. only 10 minutes to stores and restaurants.
Enjoy the 3100 sq. ft. 5 bedroom 4 bath house with walls of windows and incredible panoramic lake views from nearly every room. Our one acre plus property is extremely private with woods on the back side and wide open lake views on the front side. There are 3 bedrooms on the main level, 2 bedrooms upstairs and a third level lookout room. The house has three decks, a stone firepit, a huge grassy yard with a very gradual staircase down to the lake and a large lakeside stone patio. The dock is in place from Mid May to Mid October and is carpeted. There are stone steps into the water.
The house is located in a private gated community 10 minutes from New Fairfield Center or Sherman on a private one acre plus lot directly across from state owned land with no other houses on the opposite shoreline. Ours is one of the only roads on the lake where this serene setting exists. This makes it a super quiet location at night. Another advantage is that the water at our location is crystal clear. The water is very deep at our location. The carpeted dock is large for sunbathing, diving or docking your boat. The dock is equipped with post bumpers and floating ball bumpers. The main floor deck is huge with a large gas grill and lots of seating. The second floor balcony off the master living room has a table and two chairs. The third deck is on the upper level with a chair.
The spacious house has two main living levels with five bedrooms and a small lookout room on a third level. The main floor has a dramatic cathedral ceiling with large wood beams and track lighting. The second floor features a massive master bedroom suite with private balcony. This home is truly a unique and special place. Please note, VRBO tax calculations for CT are incorrect. 15% CT Room Occupancy Tax can only be taken for the first 30 nights.
Main Level Living Room- The entry level has floor to ceiling picture windows with incredible views of the lake. The living room is wood paneled and beamed with a cathedral ceiling creating an open and spacious feel. There are two huge windows overlooking the main very large deck and the lake beyond. There is a Smart TV with Spectrum TV app with a Roku. There is a stereo system with radio, CD player and Aux cord. There is a large minisplit AC unit in the living room to supplement the central AC.

Kitchen - The kitchen dining area has two walls of windows with the same lake view. Our kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to create your favorite meals. There is a window AC unit and a ceiling fan as well as an exhaust fan over the stove in the kitchen. The formal dining room has seating for 10 people.

Bedrooms- On the main level are three bedrooms. The front queen bedroom has a lake view from two large sets of windows. This room also has a small private half bath and a wall AC unit.
The back queen bedroom has two sets of large windows with a wooded view of mature spruce trees and flowering dogwoods and also a side view of the lake. This room has a Smart TV for streaming and window AC unit.
The back middle bedroom has a double bed and a desk. Ceiling fan and portable fan.
The main level large vintage bathroom features a unique enclosed shower/tub area with custom etched herons on the glass surround. This bathroom is shared by two bedrooms.

Second Level - Upstairs is the huge master king bedroom suite with its own full sized living a room with TV for streaming or gaming and sitting area. This bedroom has central AC and a window AC unit. Sliding glass doors leading to a private balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the lake. What a spot for morning coffee! This room is the full width of the house. There is a huge walk-in closet with dressing mirror and plenty of storage.
Second level bathroom- A private entrance from the master leads to the large second level newly renovated bathroom with double sinks and marble vanity. This bath has custom etched glass doors in the tub/shower. There is also a hallway entrance door to this bathroom that is shared with the twin room.
The back second level bedroom has two twin beds. There is a full wall of windows with a view of the woods behind the house and the driveway area. This room has its own AC window unit.
The Third Level -The top level consists of a small Lookout Room accessed via a small spiral staircase. This room has large windows on every side and a small sink. A large desk and chair would make a great office area in cool weather. There is also one twin futon mattress which can be used as a reading area or a single sleeping area. There is also a double mattress that can be used on the floor for a kids' campout. Glass sliding doors lead to a small deck. This area is not air conditioned. There is a portable fan and large windows open on all four walls.
Basement Level-The full basement has a full height 8 foot ceiling. There is a Ping Pong and Dart room and laundry room plus another full bath with shower. We have some life jackets and flotation noodles for your use but you should bring your own for children. You are welcome to use our knee board and water skis located in the basement.
The house is located equally between the town centers of New Fairfield and Sherman, CT. Both towns have grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants. New Fairfield has a large new Stop & Shop and Starbucks, Liquor stores and restaurants. Sherman is a smaller town but it has a nice grocery store and liquor store and the famous American Pie Company Restaurant and Bakery. Try the chicken pot pie.
We are less than a mile to Squantz Pond State Park with miles of hiking trails to ridge views and a sandy beach swimming area with lifeguard. There is a public boat launch across from the park entrance.
Take the short drive to quaint New Milford, CT just 15 minutes away. Visit one of the largest antiques/ flea markets in the east, the Elephant's Trunk, where the show Flea Market Flip is filmed. There are many unique shops and restaurants in town.
Take a longer scenic drive up to Kent, CT and see the Housatonic River rushing through Bulls Bridge Covered Bridge on the way. Take a short hike on Bulls Bridge National Scenic Trail. In picturesque Kent, CT you will find many shops and antiques as well as good food. Kent Falls State Park has hiking trails and a massive waterfall. Continue a bit further north to drive over the covered bridge at Cornwall Bridge, CT in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains. There are many nearby destinations for a perfect day of antiquing and sightseeing.

This beautiful home features 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 2 living areas, a spare bedroom/reading room, a sunroom, a newly remodeled kitchen, and a dining room. Families can gather outside on the large deck, the patio, or play together on the backyard swing set.

**Bedrooms**
The home boasts 3 separate bedrooms with 4 beds in total. We also offer 2 sofa beds to accommodate larger groups.

- Bedroom 1, the master bedroom, is the largest, featuring a king-sized memory foam bed, quality linens, a ceiling fan, blinds, a dresser, a nightstand with a side lamp, and a private deck offering lakeside views.

- Bedroom 2 features a queen-sized memory foam bed, quality linens, a ceiling fan, blinds, a dresser within the closet, a nightstand with a side lamp, and offers views of the backyard and side yard.

- Bedroom 3 features two twin beds that are combined to form a king-size bed, quality linens, a ceiling fan, blinds, a side lamp, and offers views of the backyard and back patio.

- Please note that the closets for bedrooms 1 and 3 are being used for storage, so they are not available to guests.

- The first sofa bed is located in the corner of living room 1. It has a spring mattress, can seat three people, and sleeps two people. The second sofa bed is located in the spare bedroom (labeled as Office 1). It has a memory foam mattress, can seat three people, and sleeps two people.

**Bathrooms**
The home is equipped with 2 full bathrooms, so there’s no need to wait around for your turn. Both bathrooms have a shower, bathtub, large sink, hairdryer, and ventilation fan. Make use of the provided soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and towels.

- Bathroom 1 is located upstairs and has shelving above the toilet for storage.

- Bathroom 2 is located downstairs and has shelving below the sink and a bidet toilet.

**Kitchen**
At the heart of the home lies a large, newly remodeled kitchen, seamlessly connected to the dining room, making it perfect for entertaining. Prepare anything from snacks to full meals in this well-equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances and a large island with pendant lights hanging over. Appliances include a GE refrigerator (equipped with a drink drawer, chilling drawer, ice maker, water dispenser, and pull-out freezer), microwave, Bosch dishwasher, farmhouse deep sink, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and a double oven and air fryer combo unit (electric range with exhaust fan).

The kitchen is stocked full of cooking accessories that include all types of glasses, bowls, cups, utensils, child-specific items (cups, utensils, trays), bakeware, pots, pans, grill accessories, knife sets, serving utensils, mugs, bar accessories, basic spices/seasonings, and pretty much anything you can think of!

**Dining Room**
The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen, featuring a table that seats six. It’s not only great for delicious dinners but also for game nights, so grab a game from the bookshelf. The dining room and kitchen offer views of the yard.

**Living Rooms**
The home offers 2 beautifully designed living rooms. Perfect for families and friends to come together, with ample seating and 55-inch TVs with Roku players.

- Living room 1 is equipped with a fireplace, two couches that seat a total of 6 guests, and a large screen television. One of the couches pulls out into a bed if needed. It features a dedicated children’s area with toys, books, games, a child-sized table, and a large, comfortable chair. This room gives views of the backyard and front porch.

- Living room 2 is equipped with overhead track lighting and features two leather couches that seat a total of 5 guests. For entertainment, besides the large TV, there is a foosball table, and a bookshelf loaded with books and board games. This room offers a view of the front yard.

**Spare bedroom (labeled as Office 1)**
This room was formerly used as an office. Now, guests can utilize this additional room to relax and rest. It features a comfortable sofa bed and is an ideal spot to catch up on some reading.

**Sunroom**
This beautiful space is perfect for relaxing at any time of day, whether enjoying the sunrise or sunset or simply basking in the afternoon sunlight. This room features a chair, a few folding chairs, and a shoe rack. The room overlooks the front yard, road, and lake.

**Outside Space**
You will love the large outdoor deck, patio, and private backyard. The large backyard features a swing set for the kids. The deck features a coffee table and a larger dining table with chairs that seat up to 3, as well as an umbrella for shielding guests from the bright sun. The patio has three benches that can accommodate up to 6 people. For cookouts, there’s a propane Weber grill with a complete set of cooking utensils.

There is ample parking in the driveway (the garage is not available for parking). You can park up to 2 cars on the street if necessary.

There is a laundry room in the basement that guests are welcome to use if they are spending a significant amount of time at the home. It contains a washer and two dryers (only the LG dryer is available for guest use). Detergent and fabric sheets are provided.

For your safety, the house is equipped with smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, a fire ladder, flashlights, and a first aid kit. There is a security camera positioned at the front door and another overlooking the driveway. Refer to the house manual for more information on the location of these items.

There are some excellent nearby areas to explore. Here are some of them:

From the home, it’s about a two-minute walk to the dock at Candlewood Lake (Knollcrest Marina). Here you can fish and kayak. Please ensure you have a valid fishing license before fishing here. See the house manual for information on renting kayaks.

It’s about a 10-minute walk to the private beach, which is perfect for sunbathing and swimming. There are trails around the lake for hiking and biking. The area is home to a diverse array of wildlife, making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers.

From the home, it’s about a 2-minute drive to Squantz Pond State Park. A public boat launch is available for those who wish to bring their boat. Besides boating, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities for visitors, including swimming in the pond, fishing, picnicking, and hiking on the trails. The park also has areas for birdwatching and nature observation. During the warmer months, it’s an ideal spot for kayaking and canoeing. Additionally, the scenic views and natural surroundings make it a lovely place for photography and relaxation.

NYC is about a 90-minute drive. Make a day trip and experience everything New York City has to offer.

There is an adjacent full bath in the hallway. The open and bright living area has ample soft seating as well as a conversation area with table and chairs, perfect for playing games. All of this is highlighted by spectacular views of the lake from an impressive wall of windows along the entire western facing side.

If you feel like venturing out, the house is located just around the corner from the only restaurant on the lake accessible by boat, and is close to many other restaurants, breweries, grocery and specialty stores, flea markets, antiques shops, golf courses, museums and ski areas. Failure to comply will incur forfeiture of damage deposit in the amount required to deep clean furniture and pillows. A $100 non-refundable pet fee will be due with the final payment. Please be advised: For the safety and security of our property, our neighbors and our guests, we have installed the Ring video doorbell system to monitor the driveway and the front door. There is absolutely no monitoring of the inside of the home, nor the outside dock or patio areas.

Please note: The owner and family keep a boat at the dock during the summer months and may be on property to take them out on the lake. There is one space on the dock for guests boats.

Our home was designed with relaxation in mind. The decor is a mix of Scandinavian and Bohemian with touches of Mid-Century Modern accents. The lake house is walking distance to the private beach and only a 3 minute drive to Echo Bay Marina, where guests can rent a boat, jet ski, or go water skiing!

Outside features include a fire pit, patio with outside dining table/chairs, gas BBQ, and a fenced in backyard on 3 sides for added privacy. We also have outdoor games in our shed for the whole family to enjoy: corn hole & badminton. The outdoor space is great for a daytime BBQ with friends/family or a quiet night around the fire pit making s'mores.

Inside, our home has a ton of beautiful natural light in all rooms, and is very peaceful and quiet. In the living room, you'll find a comfortable vegan leather sofa and 50" smart TV - equipped with Netflix, Peacock and Disney + subscriptions. We also have a few books and games for guests to enjoy - Chess/Checkers, Jenga, Uno, a deck of cards, puzzles, and kids toys!

Our kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, electric stove, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, pots/pans, and all the necessary essentials for making a delicious meal.

Our sitting room has 4 comfortable Scandinavian chairs situated around our easy-to-use pellet stove - perfect for a cozy night in! We also have a finished basement with an additional pellet stove, TV, and sliding glass door to the backyard. This space can be used to sleep a 5th guest, as we have an air mattress in the basement closet.

Upstairs you will find the beautiful primary bedroom with a queen bed, comfortable bedding, sitting chair, and workstation. Across the hall is our stylish secondary bedroom with a full size bed and another workstation! We've got you covered if you work from "home." Both rooms have double closets with tons of space. In between the bedrooms is our updated full bathroom equipped with a tub/shower combo and removable hand held shower head. You can also find luxury bath towels, hand towels and wash-clothes in the bathroom closet.

The lake house is super family friendly with a pack n play, high chair, kids toys/books and night lights.
