Rustic Retreat is a guest house located on our 10 acre ranch. We decided to make it a vacation home in hopes that it will bless as many families/couples/individuals as possible. It is only 3 years old and has modern and rustic furnishings. You will find it to be private and peaceful and to have a "warm and inviting country" feel. Enjoy watching the birds while sipping your coffee and reading a book on the covered front porch. Or sit out under the starts on the large backyard deck while grilling and basking by the firepit. We are only five minutes form the small, quaint town of Meeker. There you will find a few restaurants, like The Shed (seen on Discover Oklahoma) with fresh ingredients and gorgeous décor. Located next door is The Meeker Trading Company, a beautiful collection of antiques and new items to shop for and purchase. The two businesses are owned by the same friendly couple. Across the street, you will find Ma and Pa's Creamery where they serve some yummy, homemade ice cream and treats. If you feel like exploring a little further, you can do so in any direction you wish. Either way you turn, you will find small, quaint towns with their own character and specials. If you are looking for more, head south to the city of Shawnee, where they have most everything you could you possibly need. There are often fun events and festivities held at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center in Shawnee, in which we are only 17 miles away from. Shawnee boasts several restaurants and shopping experiences, as well as museums, and a community pool with a few water slides. With highways and turnpikes, as well as the famous Route 66 only 12-15 minutes away, you can go wherever your heart desires. If you want to take more of a day trip or half a day trip, head an hour west to Oklahoma City. Downtown OKC has so many restaurants to offer, several museums and lot of activities to do. If you are interested in water activities, OKC has a water park, called White Water Bay or if you are looking for some inside activities like arcades and move theaters, they have several. OKC has a wonderful zoo with lots of exotic animals and shows. If you feel up to it, you can brave the theme park, Frontier City, where you can ride lots of roller coasters and see their fabulous shows. (Check the locations for times and dates open). There is so much to do in OKC, you will not be bored.

- "My parents are 82 & 83, mom uses a walker & dad is on oxygen, so we needed someplace that was one level & had plenty of room for their medical equipment. The 2 car garage was an added bonus that made unloading/loading equipment & getting mom & dad in/out of the car nice in the cool temperatures easy! This property is located near the park in a nice & peaceful neighborhood. The house was clean & spacious, & the decor was like what you would expect in an upscale hotel or resort! Mom & dad had no idea what to expect, they were really impressed! Dad liked the Kuerig coffee maker & being able to make his own coffee each morning & enjoyed making hot chocolate every evening! They took the master bedroom with the attached bathroom & said the bed was very comfortable & slept well. I knew when I sat down on the sectional sofa & reclined that I had found my sleeping spot in the living room with the big TV & Netflix! You can tell that the host & owner of this property has put a lot of thought & heart into this property, I highly recommend it & know it will be our booking spot for our next stay!"

The cabin & property were inspired by the owners’ love for nature, travel and all things HGTV. We feel this space is perfect for couples and families wanting to escape & disconnect from the city, or guests needing short-term lodging to attend a nearby venue or attraction.

A beautiful custom built 1550 sq foot cedar shake cabin. The interior & exterior have been painted a modern Sherwin Williams color pallet. 2 bedrooms and 2 (full) bathrooms. The master has a king-sized bed, and a luxurious custom dual head shower. The secondary bedroom has a twin over full bunkbed with access to secondary bathroom. There is also a queen size hide-a-bed in the living room couch. The cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen, Blackstone grill, and fully equipped laundry room. There is a four person hot tub on the new 550 sq ft back porch deck... perfect for drinks at sunset ;) Relax & cook s’mores in the adirondack chairs by the fire pit overlooking the pond. There are two TVs, both with Netflix & Prime, as well as board/card games and DVDs. The property also has Viasat WIFI. Please no smoking, vaping or pets inside the cabin... the owner has severe allergies, sorry.

He had it fixed by the time we got home from the lake. Lake Stroud was wonderful and one of the best lakes we’ve been to as a family. There is a sandy beach close by and was our place for setup each day. There was a place to tie the boat up close to the property, nice area to cookout with 2 grills, 2 bathrooms with showers, a washer & dryer, plenty of towels and linens for everyone, there are 2 long tables with chairs, a living room area with a couch, loveseat, books & tv (we never turned it on), and a small kitchen with a small table. There are very limited supplies to cook with, but we were able to feed everyone and have a great time! I would highly recommend this for a fun family vacation!"

Your rental at Tatanka Ranch include exclusive access to you and your guests only.

Tatanka has a total of 20 cabins and one guest house for accommodations. The listed rental includes 10 cabins and 1 guest house overlooking the nature park, pond, and waterfall. If any of the additional 10 cabins are needed for your stay, they can be added on additionally, prior to booking. Cabins include linens, towels, a mini fridge, a coffee maker, wifi access, and TVs in each cabin. In addition to the available cabins on the property, Tatanka also has four RV pads with electric, water, and sewer hookups.

The Lodge features a pool area, kitchen, tavern-style bar, an entertaining area with cozy leather sofas, satellite radio, and a surround sound system both inside and out. Breathtaking views surround you as you relax by the water. The pool is accessible during season, from dawn till dusk to all guests and includes rocking chairs on the lodge porch and lounge chairs with covered umbrella tables poolside.

Activities include access to the outdoor swimming pool (during season), Lake with canoes and kayaks, volleyball, bocce ball court, and yard games are also included. Additional activities like horseback riding or skeet shooting can also be coordinated but must be scheduled prior to the event date.

Additional buildings like the Wedding Barn or Event Center are not included in the listed price but can be added on additionally if needed.
