There are steep stairs leading down to the beach, and the beach itself is rocky. There are no lifeguards so please take care while swimming.
We have neighbors close to the property so it isn’t fully secluded.
The rock wall is to prevent erosion and is not suitable for young children.

This is a lake front property so mosquitoes are active! We provide bug spray and tiki torches to help deter but keep in mind when booking your stay.

Also to note, this cottage is in a wooded neighborhood. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This could include deer, skunks, raccoons, otters, ducks, mice, spiders, wasps, bees, crickets, black flies or ants. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. Fall Season is here! - Lots of openings & Off-season pricing!
• One of our most beautiful seasons is upon us with dropped rates, a slower pace, and lots of peace and quiet! It is our favorite. The ferrys still run back and forth to Mackinac Island, most of the shops stay open in the fall, and the water and weather is still warm through September! Northern Michigan has one of the best color shows anywhere with trees beginning to turn color in mid-September and lasting over a month! Come enjoy our cozy getaway this Fall and Winter with the many cool weather activities in our area including shopping, skiing, skating, hiking, snowmobiling, sledding, tubing, swimming in our indoor parks, or just relaxing, playing games, and enjoying one another! You won't be disappointed!
• The Pine Tree Cottage is a lovely cottage on Lake Huron, located between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan. It's in a quiet waterfront neighborhood with beautiful views of the aquamarine water of Lake Huron. The owners have worked hard to make this a perfect getaway and you'll find it very comfortable and peaceful.
• The cottage offers 2 bedrooms with an additional single bed available. There are 2 full bathrooms. The master bath contains a large jetted tub and double vanity. There is a TV and DVD player in the living room. The living room has the added benefit of cable TV, office/computer area at one end, and is very spacious at 30' long with plenty of seating area for you and your guests. There is a spacious dining table with seating for 4, a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook and/or entertain. There is a lovely sun room to enjoy your breakfast or a cup of coffee (or tea). The yard is spacious and the waterfront can be viewed from the living room, sun room and the master bedroom. This is the perfect space to share with your friends and family in beautiful Northern Michigan.
• There is plenty of wildlife in the area. A large variety of birds including owls, eagles, osprey and song birds of every variety, loons, sandhill cranes, trumpeter swans and hummingbirds. There have been several black bear sightings along the US 23 stretch between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan and if you're lucky, you may hear the distant call of a wolf. Active beaver dams can be found at the nearby Mill Creek Discovery Park.
• You don't have to go far for hiking or biking, there is a 62 mile trail across the road from the cottage that you can traverse from Gaylord to Mackinaw City. Wilderness State Park is a short drive away and offers amazing beaches and several hiking trails. The Headlands and the International Dark Sky Park are located 15 minutes away. Northern Lights can be seen from time to time. There are plenty of festivals and events in the area to enjoy.
• The 4th of July celebration in Mackinaw City is one of the best in the State and the Labor Day Bridge Walk attracts thousands to enjoy the annual opportunity to cross the Mighty Mac Bridge on foot. Plenty of shopping and antiquing within a 30 mile range - there is something for everyone. The shoreline here tends to be more sandy than rocky and there are some very nice sandy beaches in both Cheboygan and Mackinaw City that your whole group will enjoy also. Come for a stay and take home memories that will last a lifetime!

A historical building in downtown Cheboygan with all the modern updates. Views of the Cheboygan river and a one minute walk from downtown shopping and eating. Beautiful Lake Huron is only a 5 minute walk away. Trailheads for biking, walking and snowmobiling a few blocks away! Area ski mountains- a 40 minute drive! Two bedrooms and one bath with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Please note that the property is on the second floor; meaning there is one flight of stairs to ascend.

- "We truly enjoyed this rental! The location is great and the home was very comfortable. Everything was clean upon arrival and we appreciated the brochures, magazines, and menus for local restaurants and events. There is street noise so be prepared. The owner supplied 2 box fans and we brought our noise machines, which helped a bit." - "Positives: The apartment was impeccably clean and everything was updated. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the bathroom is an appropriate size, but really for only one person at a time. It is located over a salon, but we couldn't smell any of the chemicals from the salon. The area around the building is clean and well-kept. Parking is plentiful behind the building. There's a TV with streaming services as well as a collection of DVDs and a couple board games. The kitchen is well-stocked. Negatives: The building is near a drawbridge, so sometimes traffic was backed up in front of the building, but the drawbridge process was pretty efficient. When heavy trucks went by, the building shook. This was a little disturbing because, at some point, that has to have an impact on the structure. The showerhead was really basic and could use an upgrade. (This is a minor thing, bit worth noting.) The toilet has a pressure-assisted flushing system which is sort of like what you find on airplanes. It didn't always work well, but we finally figured out that if you hold down the lever while flushing, it cleared most of the bowl's contents. Positive/Negative: Cheboygan is a small town and there's not a lot to do there--which can be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for. We walked to restaurants, the movie theater, and shops. We also walked to a nearby trail, went to Mackinac Island (the port is about 30 minutes away), and drove to Petoskey."

This cozy little cottage is perfect for two! It sits right on the water's edge of beautiful Lake Huron in scenic northern Michigan. Tucked away between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, this little gem offers incomparable views of Mackinac Island and the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. There are 5 acres and over 330 feet of frontage on the aquamarine lake. The beach is private and the cottage is peaceful and quiet - a perfect getaway for 2. The cottage is one-room with a queen-size bed and dresser, a small kitchen and dining area and a bathroom with a shower. Enjoy a good book on the front porch or sunbathe in the spacious yard. Bring your bikes because if you cross the street, you are on a 62 mile bike/hike trail that runs from Gaylord to Mackinaw. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.

Our cottage is tucked away along the shores of lake Huron, with 125 feet of private beach frontage! We have massive cathedral ceiling with 26 windows, providing breathtaking views from every room! Our cottage shares 80 feet of frontage with one other cottage, on the west side of Mullet Lake and is easily accessible from I-75, to M-27 and down Sunrise Lane, a private drive. The cottage is well equipped with an open kitchen and living room, two bedrooms, a sleeping loft and bathroom with a shower stall. The cottage is on the calm side of the lake for prime boating. No boat? Rentals are available at the Mullett Lake Marina 2 miles north next to the DNR boat launch. Less than a block from your door is the Rails to Trails path for walking, running or biking. On the trail you can ride to Mackinaw City 20 miles north or connect to many other towns and cites via the trail system in northern Michigan. Enjoy your meals looking out at the lake from the screened porch or cement patio with a picnic table. Just under a mile away is the Village Store where pizzas and other carry outs are available. Grocery and department stores are in Cheboygan seven miles away.

I have never had a better time at a rental. The place was clean, everything was labeled and there was so much to do just IN the house! The only suggestion I would give to future guests, is to bring your house slippers if you are coming in the winter. The floors are cold since they are wood. But this shouldn't stop anyone. Elk Run Estates now has 2 cabins and The Huntsman #4 is the newest addition!

Enter our quaint drive that has the red Elk Run Estates sign at the entrance. Drive past, or stop at if need be, the boat and trailer parking. Next you’ll pass by The Garden Cottage #3, please drive slowly and watch for other renters. And then at the end of the drive is your destination. There is plenty of parking right outside the cabin in the ‘guest parking’ spots. (Please be sure to use the Boat/trailer parking if you have one and do not park it outside of the cabin.)

Walk onto the covered 6x8 porch and into an open kitchen with plenty of amenities to cook full meals. Then eat in the dining room that has plenty of seats for family dinners and family game night. Next hang out with the antelope and ram in the comfy living room that has a 43” smart TV, dvd player and a cozy electric fireplace.

The bathroom and bedroom are down a hallway for some separation. The bathroom is spacious and has a shower/tub combo. The bedroom has a queen bed and full/twin bunk bed. (Living room futon included for sleeping accommodations).

And in the summer, enjoy your time outside with a bbq grill, Fire pit and picnic table.

Guests have access to boat and trailer parking, the cabin and fire pit area.

Escape to this cozy cottage in picturesque Cheboygan, Michigan. Located near the northwest corner of Mullett Lake, this cottage is close to both the activities around the Mullett Lake Village and the mouth of the Cheboygan River. Boating, golfing, swimming, and hiking/biking are less than a mile from your door. The cottage is approximately 5 miles from the town of Cheboygan and about 25 miles from the Mackinac Bridge, making it a great home base to explore both Upper and Lower Northern Michigan. This charming property features a good sized yard and deck overlooking your own dock on Mullett Lake. The water is crystal clear with sandy bottom swimming. Boat rentals are available just down the road at Jack's Marina or we can provide a mooring spot for your boat. The cottage is spacious with a large living room, a TV room, dining space, and 2 bedrooms (queen and full bed). Couches or an additional air mattress can be provided for sleeping (likely for kids). Cottage is fully equipped - just bring towels for bath and beach. The cottage has internet and a washer/dryer for guest use. It's a prime Mullett Lake location for smaller families or couples! We think it's one of the nicest spots on the lake! Please no smoking and no pets.

Camp under the stars LAKEFRONT on Lake Huron. See the Northern Lights, build a campfire, roast marshmallows, skip rocks, build a sandcastle, swim, take a walk along the lakeshore or hike the Cheboygan to Mackinac City trail. Camper has water and electric hook up. Bed is a regular mattress (not a bumpy pad). Table folds down for second bed. Kitchen and bath are fully equipped. IF you have NOT CAMPED before or not interested in outdoor adventure, please do not book this property.

Our neighbors are awesome, and we ask our guests to respect the quiet hours and stay within our property limits. Our property hosts over 2 acres with the house and 2 campers. There may be other guests sharing the 2 acres, or you may have the entire lot to yourself. Due to the woods, it feels like the space is all yours.

Guests of the property have access to an outdoor pavilion that includes a bar, high top table with 4 chairs, propane fireplace, mini fridge, and lounge chairs. This space is share with the other guests and is first come first serve. The space can be reserved for exclusion to other guests for a daily fee of $100 and must be done ahead of check in.

Each camp site has 70 feet of designated lakeshore but the entire shore is open to share among all guests.

The camp sites each have their own fire pit on Lake Huron where, on a clear night, you can almost always see the Northern Lights between 10:30 pm-1am

Parking is free on site with room for several vehicles and trailers.

Nearest airport is Pellston Regional Airport, 21 miles away. Car rental is available at the airport. Mackinaw Shuttle is also accessible. Driving is most popular mode of transportation. Roots on the Run, owned and operated by Mike Root, is an errand business and works like an Uber as well.

Be close to all the Northern Michigan tourist attractions, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and still be able to get away from the crowds and sit by Lake Huron, roast marshmallows and take in the Northern Lights show nearly every clear sky night.
