There are steep stairs leading down to the beach, and the beach itself is rocky. There are no lifeguards so please take care while swimming.
We have neighbors close to the property so it isn’t fully secluded.
The rock wall is to prevent erosion and is not suitable for young children.

This is a lake front property so mosquitoes are active! We provide bug spray and tiki torches to help deter but keep in mind when booking your stay.

Also to note, this cottage is in a wooded neighborhood. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This could include deer, skunks, raccoons, otters, ducks, mice, spiders, wasps, bees, crickets, black flies or ants. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. We Cannot control Mother Nature and therefore do not offer refunds if you encounter her business. This is a pet friendly property so no poisons, toxins, glue traps allowed.

A historical building in downtown Cheboygan with all the modern updates. Views of the Cheboygan river and a one minute walk from downtown shopping and eating. Beautiful Lake Huron is only a 5 minute walk away. Trailheads for biking, walking and snowmobiling a few blocks away! Area ski mountains- a 40 minute drive! Two bedrooms and one bath with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Please note that the property is on the second floor; meaning there is one flight of stairs to ascend.

- "We truly enjoyed this rental! The location is great and the home was very comfortable. Everything was clean upon arrival and we appreciated the brochures, magazines, and menus for local restaurants and events. There is street noise so be prepared. The owner supplied 2 box fans and we brought our noise machines, which helped a bit." - "Positives: The apartment was impeccably clean and everything was updated. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the bathroom is an appropriate size, but really for only one person at a time. It is located over a salon, but we couldn't smell any of the chemicals from the salon. The area around the building is clean and well-kept. Parking is plentiful behind the building. There's a TV with streaming services as well as a collection of DVDs and a couple board games. The kitchen is well-stocked. Negatives: The building is near a drawbridge, so sometimes traffic was backed up in front of the building, but the drawbridge process was pretty efficient. When heavy trucks went by, the building shook. This was a little disturbing because, at some point, that has to have an impact on the structure. The showerhead was really basic and could use an upgrade. (This is a minor thing, bit worth noting.) The toilet has a pressure-assisted flushing system which is sort of like what you find on airplanes. It didn't always work well, but we finally figured out that if you hold down the lever while flushing, it cleared most of the bowl's contents. Positive/Negative: Cheboygan is a small town and there's not a lot to do there--which can be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for. We walked to restaurants, the movie theater, and shops. We also walked to a nearby trail, went to Mackinac Island (the port is about 30 minutes away), and drove to Petoskey."

This home is located minutes away from the Beautiful Black Mountain Recreational Area which offers access to over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails for hours of winter adventure. Over 30 miles of Cross-country skiing trails are also available with a series of beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails at Black Mountain. The Black Mountain Recreational area also has a 65-acre scramble area and over 60 miles of trails for ATVs, Dirtbikes and Sport Utility vehicles. This home is in the perfect location for the outdoor recreationists who love snowmobiling, ATVs, Off Road Vehicles, Cross country skiing, Hiking, Bicycling, Hunting, Fishing and Boating access to Inland lakes, Twin Lakes, Long Lake, Black Lake, or even cruise the Cheboygan river or the Indian river which connects Mullett Lake, Burt Lake and Lake Huron, even golfing down the road or many other golf courses around. Here you are located minutes from The Chateau at Black Mountain for great food and Drinks overlooking Twin Lakes and The Bluffs Bar overlooking Black Lake for some of the best food and Drinks which the trail is marked and connected to. Also a few minutes away from the Dirty Duck Saloon and the Twin Lakes Grocery and gas station with recreational non ethanol fuel and Rippling Rapids golf club & Restaurant, last the Black Mountain Lodge were they also have great food. House comes fully furnished has Flat screen TV in living room, small flat screen in bedroom, local channels,
Blueray-DVD players and Bose radio. Kitchen has all working appliances and also Washer and Dryer. Bathroom has all the linens you need. The house has a big non heated sun room with a big fenced in back yard with fire pit with supplied wood, Horse shoe pits, Croquet set, out side BBQ grill with gas along with some other games as well. There is a really big sledding hill for the kids just down the road. You can check in anytime after 4pm and must check out by 11am. This cozy little cottage is perfect for two! It sits right on the water's edge of beautiful Lake Huron in scenic northern Michigan. Tucked away between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, this little gem offers incomparable views of Mackinac Island and the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. There are 5 acres and over 330 feet of frontage on the aquamarine lake. The beach is private and the cottage is peaceful and quiet - a perfect getaway for 2. The cottage is one-room with a queen-size bed and dresser, a small kitchen and dining area and a bathroom with a shower. Enjoy a good book on the front porch or sunbathe in the spacious yard. Bring your bikes because if you cross the street, you are on a 62 mile bike/hike trail that runs from Gaylord to Mackinaw. Feel free to bring your canoe or kayak and put in right on the beach for a carefree day of peaceful paddling. The cottage is located halfway between the Village of Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, where you can enjoy shopping, dining, museums or just an evening ice cream cone at one of the many shops in town.

The property is shared with 3 other units (VRBO 573662, 609883, 871262) which are also available for rent but located a good distance away. Lem's Paradise #1, Lem's Paradise #2 and Little Lem's share the property and 335 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. You can rent any of them separately or together if you need extra space for a large family gathering. (There are beds for a total of 18) All bedding, linens, dishes, etc. are included.

Coming to beautiful Northern Michigan includes the possibility of wildlife encounters. We have midges, spiders, mosquitos, occasionally black flies and an assortment of other insects. We spray regularly to keep them at a manageble level but we also don't want to damage the fragile ecosystem here. Note that where there is water, there will be spiders. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.

We treasure the wildness of the North and perhaps that is what attracts you.

Consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse of any of our other wild neighbors - black bear, wolves, deer, elk, coyote, fox, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoons, eagles, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and mice as well as a massive variety of birds.

This is a cozy Guest House that sleeps 6 and has 1 bath. This is a great, super clean, option for a small family on a budget. It is located on 5 acres with over 300 feet of frontage on Lake Huron.

This adorable little gem was re-constructed in 2016 from top to bottom and the location is indeed paradise. Comfy beds, a sleeper sofa if needed and a spacious dining area are yours to enjoy. We provide all linens and plush bath towels - we just ask that you bring your own beach towels. The kitchen comes complete with a refrigerator and stove, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a trip with the kids. There is plenty of parking for boats and recreational vehicles. It sits on a beautifully landscaped 5 acre lawn with lots of room to roam. Swim (yes it has a sandy beach but still has the typical Lake Huron rocks so bring water shoes), nightly campfires on the waterfront, horseshoes in the yard. We see lots of wildlife - deer, fox, coyote and very recently a black bear! The park-like atmosphere will beckon you to enjoy your meals outside on the picnic table. It has a full kitchen and all the necessary supplies but you might want to cook burgers or dogs on the grill just outside your door. It's a quick 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and all it has to offer. Hop on a ferry for a ride to the popular Mackinac Island and take a trip back in time. Enjoy a Starbucks coffee and try the zipline in town. There is plenty of shopping and dining in town or head to Cheboygan - about a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction. Shop or dine at the many options available to you. Rent a boat in Cheboygan and take the Inland Waterway tour through a chain of lakes. Bring your bikes because there is a 60 mile trail across the road from the properties that will take you all the way to Gaylord if you want or a quick 5 mile trip to Mackinaw City. This is a great base camp for all of your Northern Michigan adventures.

From Lem’s you could really see the “turtle shape” and our kiddos loved that. We were amazed to see the Northern Lights one night. You can enjoy the peace and solitude of this lovely property or be in town in 5 minutes for your nightly ice cream cone. It features 2 bedrooms plus a double futon and will accommodate up to 6 guests. The unit is expansive and comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing Northern Michigan vacation. It has a large eat-in kitchen for family gatherings. There are 2 decks, a fire pit, picnic tables and outdoor seating areas for enjoying picnics or sunbathing. When you arrive, there is a horseshoe driveway. The owners live on the property in the main house between the 2 driveway entrances. Lem's Paradise #1 and #2 are located in the apartment unit on the right side of the driveway. When facing the building, Lem's #1 is on your far left. - "The location was definitely worth it, right on the lake. I loved having my morning coffee watching the sunrise. The house is a little dated, but very cute decorations, very much a cottage feel. The only downside was the musty smell. It did bother my allergies quite a bit, but we weren't in the house a lot. Also, the cable TV had an issue and there were only about 10 channels that had a picture. You can fish right from the yard with was very nice. My husband caught and released a couple bass and pike. He was excited! I loved being able to kayak around the lake. Definitely a nice spot that I would recommend. We had a very nice and relaxing time."

It's in the country, so you'll be driving down 3 miles of dirt roads. 10 acres all to yourself, no neighbors, fire-pits,basketball hoop, corn hole. 2 bedrooms, queen beds. Pull-out couch in living room, 2 additional couches that people tend to sleep on. Bathroom/shower/hot water, towels, linens, pillows, hot plate, cookware, utensils, coffee maker (bring your own coffee), all the basics you might need EXCEPT heat/ac and an oven. There's a half mile trail that encircles the property. Everyone that's rented so far has loved it! Most properties this size and this close to Mackinac are pricey, so this is a great deal. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what everyone comes up north for: Relaxation, laughs around the campfire, family time.

Long Lake is a great all season lake, fishing, boating, swimming, paddle boarding, paddle boating and jet skiing. There is a $150 per pet per stay charge, if there are 2 dogs, owner will need to adjust fee manually, as the site accounts for one upon booking. - "Great weekend with the kids. They had a blast fishing almost non-stop. Each child caught at least one fish. Terry, or his son, was kind enough to show my grandson how to properly filet a fish, which was much appreciated. The reason I gave only 4 starts for accuracy of the online listing, is the swimming area was not very nice. There is a lot of seaweed that comes very close to shore, so the area for swimming was very small. Three of the four kids got in anyway and had a good time with the lily pad. Overall I'd definitely recommend this spot."

In the winter guest may need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to access the property due to snow. There is plenty of parking in the driveway for vehicle, boats, and recreational vehicles.

Home is on septic. Please do not flush anything in the toilet except toilet paper. Please do not put any food scraps or meat fats down the sink drain.

Enter our quaint drive that has the red Elk Run Estates sign at the entrance. Drive past, or stop at if need be, the boat and trailer parking. Next you’ll pass by The Garden Cottage #3, please drive slowly and watch for other renters. And then at the end of the drive is your destination. There is plenty of parking right outside the cabin in the ‘guest parking’ spots. (Please be sure to use the Boat/trailer parking if you have one and do not park it outside of the cabin.)

Walk onto the covered 6x8 porch and into an open kitchen with plenty of amenities to cook full meals. Then eat in the dining room that has plenty of seats for family dinners and family game night. Next hang out with the antelope and ram in the comfy living room that has a 43” smart TV, dvd player and a cozy electric fireplace.

The bathroom and bedroom are down a hallway for some separation. The bathroom is spacious and has a shower/tub combo. The bedroom has a queen bed and full/twin bunk bed. (Living room futon included for sleeping accommodations).

And in the summer, enjoy your time outside with a bbq grill, Fire pit and picnic table.

Camp under the stars LAKEFRONT on Lake Huron. See the Northern Lights, build a campfire, roast marshmallows, skip rocks, build a sandcastle, swim, take a walk along the lakeshore or hike the Cheboygan to Mackinac City trail. Camper has water and electric hook up. Bed is a regular mattress (not a bumpy pad). Table folds down for second bed. Kitchen and bath are fully equipped. Growing up in Northern MI we are very willing to help you plan your trip. In order for you to have a great experience please contact us with your questions. Our neighbors are awesome, and we ask our guests to respect the quiet hours and stay within our property limits. Our property hosts over 2 acres with the house and 2 campers. There may be other guests sharing the 2 acres, or you may have the entire lot to yourself. Due to the woods, it feels like the space is all yours.

Guests of the property have access to an outdoor pavilion that includes a bar, high top table with 4 chairs, propane fireplace, mini fridge, and lounge chairs. This space is share with the other guests and is first come first serve. The space can be reserved for exclusion to other guests for a daily fee of $100 and must be done ahead of check in.

Each camp site has 70 feet of designated lakeshore but the entire shore is open to share among all guests.

The camp sites each have their own fire pit on Lake Huron where, on a clear night, you can almost always see the Northern Lights between 10:30 pm-1am

Parking is free on site with room for several vehicles and trailers.

Nearest airport is Pellston Regional Airport, 21 miles away. Car rental is available at the airport. Mackinaw Shuttle is also accessible. Driving is most popular mode of transportation. Roots on the Run, owned and operated by Mike Root, is an errand business and works like an Uber as well.

Be close to all the Northern Michigan tourist attractions, Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City, and still be able to get away from the crowds and sit by Lake Huron, roast marshmallows and take in the Northern Lights show nearly every clear sky night.

Back to nature 33 acres a walking trail on the property, a creek that runs into a pond. No wifi hook up but with the anenna you can pick up the local channels on the TV. Lots of wild life. Wood on site for the fire pit, Water/ Sewer/ and Eletric.
Across the road from rails to trails will take you to Cheboygan or Indian River if you want to bike or walk. Not far from a public beach in Topinabee this beach also has a kids play area.

The Big TV in the living room only has local stations. The DVD player doesn’t work. But there is a small TV in the bedroom with the dvd player. This can be plugged in outside if you would like to watch a movie outside.

We have a large yard in Cheboygan. We have privacy fences that defines a nice private space within our yard and creates a small section of the property for your enjoyment. There are neighborhood lights on all night and possibility of road noise.

The space
Elk Run Estates now has 2 cabins and The Huntsman #4 is the newest addition!

Enter our quaint drive that has the red Elk Run Estates sign at the entrance. Drive past, or stop at if need be, the boat and trailer parking. Next you’ll pass by The Garden Cottage #3, please drive slowly and watch for other renters. And then at the end of the drive is your destination. There is plenty of parking right outside the cabin in the ‘guest parking’ spots.

Walk onto the covered 6x8 porch and into an open kitchen with plenty of amenities to cook full meals. Then eat in the dining room that has plenty of seats for family dinners and family game night. Next hang out with the antelope and ram in the comfy living room that has a 43” smart TV, dvd player and a cozy electric fireplace.

The bathroom and bedroom are down a hallway for some separation. The bathroom is spacious and has a shower/tub combo. The bedroom has a queen bed and full/twin bunk bed. (Living room futon included for sleeping accommodations).

And in the summer, enjoy your time outside with a bbq grill, Fire pit and picnic table.

Step back in time in a 120-year-old completely renovated farmhouse with all of the modern amenities you will need for the perfect stay.

The space
The Chapman House is a fully renovated turn of the century farmhouse. The house is clean and cozy and features three upstairs bedrooms, sleeping 5 guests comfortably. ** Please note that due to the somewhat steep stairs, this might not be the best property for very elderly guests, families with really small toddlers or those who have trouble with stairs. **

Please note - there is no A/C. If you like to sleep cold in the summer, this isn't the place for you! We have found that just closing the curtains and windows during the day keeps the house cool - and there are plenty of fans to keep the air moving.

The main floor includes a well-stocked kitchen, spacious bathroom with shower, sunny dining room and comfortable living room, as well as a mudroom for storing all of your outdoor gear. Picnic table and firepit in the backyard. Feel free to bring your own grill!

Guests will have the entire house and yard to yourselves. Access to the house is with a uniquely coded Nest lock. There is room in our private driveway for up to 3 cars and the drive is long enough to pull in a trailer. Year round firepit and picnic table in back.

There is one owners closet that is locked, and guests do not have access to our garage.

Other things to note
Residents of Cheboygan love the outdoors and we are delighted that The Chapman House is in close proximity to many activities.

This is a PERFECT hub for your year round adventure. Whether a romantic couples weekend, or if you need a place to stay while you go fishing or exploring the area, this is the place!

Relax in our newly updated family home. This was the house my sisters and I grew up in which we now want to share with you. Located on a double lot, there is plenty of yard space for your kids to play and a patio/ fire pit area has just been added. Located right in the town of Cheboygan it is very close to all of the action.

The space
We have 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with a shower only (so be aware that for a large group some might have to shower at night and others in the morning), living room and separate dining room. On lower level there are 2 window air conditioners and ceiling fans. And in the upstairs area we have multiple fans and a portable air conditioning unit. There is a fully stocked kitchen to cook for yourself or your family and a gas grill outside. In the backyard there is also a clothesline for you to hang your wet clothing after a day at the beach. We have one driveway parking space and have just added a pad for 2 additional cars next to the side porch. Please be aware that we are on a busy corner so there will be more auto noise. Our home will sleep 8 comfortably, so bring your family to enjoy beautiful Northern Michigan!

There is no smoking in the house and if you do smoke outside make sure you take all of your cigarette butts and ashes with you and not on the ground. If this is not followed there will be and extra $300 charge.

Lem's Paradise #2 is a refurbished motel that sits on 5 acres along with Lem's #1, Little Lem's and the Million Dollar View Cottage. They share the property and 330 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. You can rent any of them separately or together if you need extra space for a large gathering. (There are beds for a total of 18.) All bedding, linens, dishes, etc. are included. Our guests love the views and the peacefulness of the property.

Guests will have access to the apartment as well as the 5 acres and 330 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. Each property has a picnic table and a deck and a shared fire pit for guests to use.

There is a full-size refrigerator, gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, dishes, towels, linens, iron and ironing board and alarm clock.

Coming to beautiful Northern Michigan includes the possibility of wildlife encounters. We have midges, spiders, mosquitos, occasionally black flies and an assortment of other insects. We spray regularly to keep them at a manageble level but we also don't want to damage the fragile ecosystem here. Note that where there is water, there will be spiders. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.

We treasure the wildness of the North and perhaps that is what attracts you.

Consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse of any of our other wild neighbors - black bear, wolves, deer, elk, coyote, fox, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoons, eagles, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and mice as well as a massive variety of birds.

The space
The cottage lot has 50 foot of water frontage. There is another cottage the owners have owned for years that is also on airbnb that is just next door. It’s approximately 40 feet away, separated by cedar trees. Neighbors are close but it does not take away from the friendly atmosphere and welcoming cottage vibes you came for!

A dock will be provided at the location in the summer months. The dock is small but great to access the water. There is a retaining wall so you will not have Beach access without the retaining wall in the way. Water is shallow at the beginning of the dock.

You will also have full access to the cottage with the exception of two locked closets.

Other things to note
Each local cottage has approximately 50 foot of lake frontage on Black Lake. Neighbors are close because of this.

The owners rent Dacha’s Escape, the black cottage next door as a vacation rental, too.

There are multiple plug in heaters for the front room with the hideabed for cold months.

Parking is shared with 359 (black cottage/ Dacha’s Escape) but is marked upon pulling up to the cottage.

No dock has been installed yet but we are working hard on this.

The seawall has a ladder to allow access to the water but no “beach” it goes right into the water.

Our home sits on 17 partially wooded acres about 3 miles from downtown Cheboygan. Boat launches gaining you access to the Inland Waterway or Lake Huron are within three miles. ORV trails, bike trails and snowmobile trails are accessible as well. We are a beautiful 20 minutes ride away from the famous Mackinaw bridge, Mackinaw City and the ferry services to Mackinaw Island. Petoskey and Lake Michigan are about 45 minutes away. The house does not have air-conditioning, however there are fans for the windows to keep things cool in the summer.

Our clean and inviting cottage is decorated with a rustic rural charm. As you enter you will find a cedar wall which accents the cathedral ceiling. A large kitchen with an abundance of hickory cabinets, a bar height table that sits 8. The living room hosts two comfortably worn leather couches and a 55" smart tv. Each bedrooms has large closets, portable fans, luggage racks and newly fresh linens. Main bedroom has a king size bed and 32" tv. Second bedroom has full size bed w/ twin bunk bed and a twin trundle. Laundry room has a new front load washer and dryer for your use.

Directions from Black Mountain rd. Turn onto Ash Hwy. NOTE: this is a gravel road with a Dead-End sign. Continue on to Bluffs Hwy, where the road forks stay to the right. Turn right onto Bluffs Hwy, also a gravel road. There are two entrances to Bear Paw lane. During winter months use the second road entrance. This is due to lack of snow plowing at first entrance. The first road entrance has a small wood sign, ignore this route and proceed to the end of Bluffs Hwy. You will see a second Bear Paw sign where you can only turn right. Turn right and we are the first and only house on the right.
