There are steep stairs leading down to the beach, and the beach itself is rocky. There are no lifeguards so please take care while swimming.
We have neighbors close to the property so it isn’t fully secluded.
The rock wall is to prevent erosion and is not suitable for young children.

This is a lake front property so mosquitoes are active! We provide bug spray and tiki torches to help deter but keep in mind when booking your stay.

Also to note, this cottage is in a wooded neighborhood. You may see or encounter wildlife while in our home or neighborhood. This could include deer, skunks, raccoons, otters, ducks, mice, spiders, wasps, bees, crickets, black flies or ants. These creatures reside in nature and we have no control over them. We Cannot control Mother Nature and therefore do not offer refunds if you encounter her business. This is a pet friendly property so no poisons, toxins, glue traps allowed.

A historical building in downtown Cheboygan with all the modern updates. Views of the Cheboygan river and a one minute walk from downtown shopping and eating. Beautiful Lake Huron is only a 5 minute walk away. Trailheads for biking, walking and snowmobiling a few blocks away! Area ski mountains- a 40 minute drive! Two bedrooms and one bath with full kitchen and washer and dryer. Please note that the property is on the second floor; meaning there is one flight of stairs to ascend.

- "We truly enjoyed this rental! The location is great and the home was very comfortable. Everything was clean upon arrival and we appreciated the brochures, magazines, and menus for local restaurants and events. There is street noise so be prepared. The owner supplied 2 box fans and we brought our noise machines, which helped a bit." - "Positives: The apartment was impeccably clean and everything was updated. The beds and furniture were comfortable and the bathroom is an appropriate size, but really for only one person at a time. It is located over a salon, but we couldn't smell any of the chemicals from the salon. The area around the building is clean and well-kept. Parking is plentiful behind the building. There's a TV with streaming services as well as a collection of DVDs and a couple board games. The kitchen is well-stocked. Negatives: The building is near a drawbridge, so sometimes traffic was backed up in front of the building, but the drawbridge process was pretty efficient. When heavy trucks went by, the building shook. This was a little disturbing because, at some point, that has to have an impact on the structure. The showerhead was really basic and could use an upgrade. (This is a minor thing, bit worth noting.) The toilet has a pressure-assisted flushing system which is sort of like what you find on airplanes. It didn't always work well, but we finally figured out that if you hold down the lever while flushing, it cleared most of the bowl's contents. Positive/Negative: Cheboygan is a small town and there's not a lot to do there--which can be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for. We walked to restaurants, the movie theater, and shops. We also walked to a nearby trail, went to Mackinac Island (the port is about 30 minutes away), and drove to Petoskey."

This home is located minutes away from the Beautiful Black Mountain Recreational Area which offers access to over 500 miles of groomed snowmobile trails for hours of winter adventure. Over 30 miles of Cross-country skiing trails are also available with a series of beginner, intermediate, and advanced trails at Black Mountain. The Black Mountain Recreational area also has a 65-acre scramble area and over 60 miles of trails for ATVs, Dirtbikes and Sport Utility vehicles. This home is in the perfect location for the outdoor recreationists who love snowmobiling, ATVs, Off Road Vehicles, Cross country skiing, Hiking, Bicycling, Hunting, Fishing and Boating access to Inland lakes, Twin Lakes, Long Lake, Black Lake, or even cruise the Cheboygan river or the Indian river which connects Mullett Lake, Burt Lake and Lake Huron, even golfing down the road or many other golf courses around. Here you are located minutes from The Chateau at Black Mountain for great food and Drinks overlooking Twin Lakes and The Bluffs Bar overlooking Black Lake for some of the best food and Drinks which the trail is marked and connected to. Also a few minutes away from the Dirty Duck Saloon and the Twin Lakes Grocery and gas station with recreational non ethanol fuel and Rippling Rapids golf club & Restaurant, last the Black Mountain Lodge were they also have great food. House comes fully furnished has Flat screen TV in living room, small flat screen in bedroom, local channels,
Blueray-DVD players and Bose radio. Kitchen has all working appliances and also Washer and Dryer. Bathroom has all the linens you need. The house has a big non heated sun room with a big fenced in back yard with fire pit with supplied wood, Horse shoe pits, Croquet set, out side BBQ grill with gas along with some other games as well. There is a really big sledding hill for the kids just down the road. You can check in anytime after 4pm and must check out by 11am. This cozy little cottage is perfect for two! It sits right on the water's edge of beautiful Lake Huron in scenic northern Michigan. Tucked away between Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, this little gem offers incomparable views of Mackinac Island and the Mighty Mackinac Bridge. There are 5 acres and over 330 feet of frontage on the aquamarine lake. The beach is private and the cottage is peaceful and quiet - a perfect getaway for 2. The cottage is one-room with a queen-size bed and dresser, a small kitchen and dining area and a bathroom with a shower. Enjoy a good book on the front porch or sunbathe in the spacious yard. Bring your bikes because if you cross the street, you are on a 62 mile bike/hike trail that runs from Gaylord to Mackinaw. Feel free to bring your canoe or kayak and put in right on the beach for a carefree day of peaceful paddling. The cottage is located halfway between the Village of Mackinaw City and Cheboygan, where you can enjoy shopping, dining, museums or just an evening ice cream cone at one of the many shops in town.

The property is shared with 3 other units (VRBO 573662, 609883, 871262) which are also available for rent but located a good distance away. Lem's Paradise #1, Lem's Paradise #2 and Little Lem's share the property and 335 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. You can rent any of them separately or together if you need extra space for a large family gathering. (There are beds for a total of 18) All bedding, linens, dishes, etc. are included.

Coming to beautiful Northern Michigan includes the possibility of wildlife encounters. We have midges, spiders, mosquitos, occasionally black flies and an assortment of other insects. We spray regularly to keep them at a manageble level but we also don't want to damage the fragile ecosystem here. Note that where there is water, there will be spiders. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.

We treasure the wildness of the North and perhaps that is what attracts you.

Consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse of any of our other wild neighbors - black bear, wolves, deer, elk, coyote, fox, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoons, eagles, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and mice as well as a massive variety of birds.

This is a cozy Guest House that sleeps 6 and has 1 bath. This is a great, super clean, option for a small family on a budget. It is located on 5 acres with over 300 feet of frontage on Lake Huron.

This adorable little gem was re-constructed in 2016 from top to bottom and the location is indeed paradise. Comfy beds, a sleeper sofa if needed and a spacious dining area are yours to enjoy. We provide all linens and plush bath towels - we just ask that you bring your own beach towels. The kitchen comes complete with a refrigerator and stove, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a trip with the kids. There is plenty of parking for boats and recreational vehicles. It sits on a beautifully landscaped 5 acre lawn with lots of room to roam. Swim (yes it has a sandy beach but still has the typical Lake Huron rocks so bring water shoes), nightly campfires on the waterfront, horseshoes in the yard. We see lots of wildlife - deer, fox, coyote and very recently a black bear! The park-like atmosphere will beckon you to enjoy your meals outside on the picnic table. It has a full kitchen and all the necessary supplies but you might want to cook burgers or dogs on the grill just outside your door. It's a quick 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and all it has to offer. Hop on a ferry for a ride to the popular Mackinac Island and take a trip back in time. Enjoy a Starbucks coffee and try the zipline in town. There is plenty of shopping and dining in town or head to Cheboygan - about a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction. Shop or dine at the many options available to you. Rent a boat in Cheboygan and take the Inland Waterway tour through a chain of lakes. Bring your bikes because there is a 60 mile trail across the road from the properties that will take you all the way to Gaylord if you want or a quick 5 mile trip to Mackinaw City. This is a great base camp for all of your Northern Michigan adventures.

Coming to beautiful Northern Michigan includes the possibility of wildlife encounters. We have midges, spiders, mosquitos, occasionally black flies and an assortment of other insects. We spray regularly to keep them at a manageble level but we also don't want to damage the fragile ecosystem here. Note that where there is water, there will be spiders. They are very industrious and can build back a knocked down web within a day!
They are also great for controlling mosquitos and wasps, which we appreciate.

We treasure the wildness of the North and perhaps that is what attracts you.

Consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse of any of our other wild neighbors - black bear, wolves, deer, elk, coyote, fox, bobcats, porcupine, skunks, raccoons, eagles, hawks, squirrels, chipmunks and mice as well as a massive variety of birds.

We enjoyed swimming in the water, which was shallow and warm. We enjoyed a quiet bonfire where we ate s’mores, enjoyed the lake and lights from the bridge, and then read the Legend of Mackinac. From Lem’s you could really see the “turtle shape” and our kiddos loved that. We were amazed to see the Northern Lights one night. My husband and I were able to sneak away from the cabin because our baby monitor reached to the lake. Lem’s Paradise truly is everything you need for a perfect Michigan getaway. It was fantastic and we are ready to pack our bags and move in! ❤️"

This newly renovated unit has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, an open living/dining/kitchen area and sits on 5 acres with over 300 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. It does have WIFI and A/C.

This wonderful Lake Huron waterfront property is a jewel! It's located on 5 acres with 300 feet of frontage on beautiful Lake Huron, just 5 minutes west of Mackinaw City. You can enjoy the peace and solitude of this lovely property or be in town in 5 minutes for your nightly ice cream cone. It features 2 bedrooms plus a double futon and will accommodate up to 6 guests. The unit is expansive and comes equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing Northern Michigan vacation. It has a large eat-in kitchen for family gatherings. There are 2 decks, a fire pit, picnic tables and outdoor seating areas for enjoying picnics or sunbathing. The spacious yard overlooks Mackinac Island and the Mackinac Bridge. The view is spectacular! The beach is rocky and we recommend water shoes. This vacation rental is super clean and comfortable and is sure to provide the relaxing family vacation you are looking for. Bring your bikes and canoes/kayaks. There is a 60+ mile bike/hiking trail across the road from the cottage and you can easily launch your canoe or kayak from the waterfront.

The property is shared with 3 other units (VRBO 573800, 609883, 871262) which are also available for rent. Lem's Paradise #2, Million Dollar View and Little Lem's share the property and 330 feet of frontage on Lake Huron. You can rent any of them separately or together if you need extra space for a large family gathering. (There are beds for a total of 18). All dishes, pots and pans, linens, provided.

When you arrive, there is a horseshoe driveway. The owners live on the property in the main house between the 2 driveway entrances. Lem's Paradise #1 and #2 are located in the apartment unit on the right side of the driveway. When facing the building, Lem's #1 is on your far left. The name of the property is displayed near the door on the outside of each unit.
