Nice accommodations for a relaxing getaway, with a fenced in area for our dogs to explore. Short drive to great restaurants and amenities. Great communication from owners." - "We just spent 2 weeks at the Bow House. Our sons and their wives joined us the first week and we found the house to be cozy yet accommodating to our numbers. The house is well-stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Jenn is a responsive host and has given a lot of thought about the details that make your stay pleasant, right down to supplying jig saw puzzles for a rainy day. Our dog enjoyed the large fenced-in yard. We would definitely recommend the Cozy Bow House!"

Cabin On a Mountain Trout Stream
Cottage
Vershire, Vermont, USA

Recently built 1035 sq ft cabin with 900 ft of frontage on the Ompompanoosuc River. Loft area contains a large BR with a double bed and an attached sitting room with a single bed. The vaulted living room has a double sized sofa-bed and a Harry Potter "cupboard-under-the-stairs" that will hold a cot for your little wizard. A crib is available if needed. The large kitchen has a table, central island, double sink, refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, and a working antique wood-burning cook stove (Crawford Jubilee). Two bathrooms open off the kitchen -- one contains a sink, shower and W/C; the other a W/C. A large wrap-around deck overlooks the river and has ample room for picnic table and lounge chairs. A propane grill is by the deck. A piped gravity-fed spring provides low-pressure water even if the power goes out.

Imagine having your own private botanical and wildlife park with 3 hiking trails, a waterfall, a 30+ mile overlook, a frog pond, a swimming hole, and a gravel bar "beach". This is sure to keep everyone entertained. Telephone and high-speed internet is included. TV signals don't make it into this valley, so a VCR and CD video library is set up in the living room. A 175-yd practice fairway is part of the 35-acre wooded retreat. Access to the cabin is by a gravel road with a stone-bottom ford that is easily handled by an SUV during low water. During high water a pedestrian bridge does the trick. Moose, deer, bobcat, bear, turkey, and numerous small birds and animals call this property "home". If you're a rock climber, there are cliffs here that will test your abilities.

This place is magical! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
We are SO HAPPY we chose to come to this TRUE Heaven in Vermont. When you first, arrive you know this place is special...You will see A Plus landscaping and the beautiful home that sits next to the peaceful sounds of the nearby stream. Inside there is comfy couches, chairs, beds, clean bathrooms, games, complimentary marshmallows and wine, and all of the items you need to feel comfortable and content. The swimming hole nearby is cool and refreshing. I did not fish with the provided fishing poles, but I did snorkel around and saw two rainbow trout in the hole. I recommend letting those fish grow, and just go down the road a bit to the bigger area that does have well stocked trout and other fish. Our hosts had five fishing poles with tackle to use if we had wanted. And the hosts are AMAZING. Susan, who I talked to, was so helpful, delightful, and caring about our stay. Getting to stay and enjoy this home is an experience you will NEVER forget. My wife and friends plan to come back forevermore to enjoy this this magical place. If you are lucky like we were, you can see the clouds and stars of the milky way. It was so clear here. And for the rest of the nights (July) we were treated to dazzling firefly shows. We are so grateful for time here and you definitely will be too.

- "Got to hike on Wright's Mountain on three different days. What a wonderful resource, and so close by." - "The river house was perfect! The sound of the babbling river rocked us to sleep. Our dog loved the privacy and freedom of the property. Bradford is a little gem in Vermont with excellent restaurants. Susan was a very responsive host! We WILL come crack soon." - "We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the River House. Susan was an ideal host - communication was great and she's easily reached if needed. It's clear that she cares about the well maintained property and that you have a great time visiting it. We arrived to some thoughtful welcome gifts including yard games for the kids and all the trappings for smores. The house is very comfortable and well organized. Its not new, but is a perfect cabin by the river complete with privacy, a firepit, a great lawn, decks, and a well provisioned kitchen. The river level was quite high when we visited, so we couldn't swim, but we did manage some river walks. Saw a moose up on the hill one morning, and visited the Beetlejuice sites just up the road. Bradford is a short drive (5 miles) with a couple really nice restaurants (the Little Grille and Colatinas) and its a quick ride either down toward Hanover or over to great hiking on the NH side. Check in / check out is easy, all the linens, beds and bathrooms were clean, comfortable and neat. Though the house as no AC, it held the overnight cool inside through most of the afternoon and cools off very quickly with lots of windows and fans, so sleeping was not an issue despite the heat wave. Would definitely recommend this house for a comfortable, rustic getaway with lots to do nearby."

Semi secluded sitting area in grass field directly behind cabin with fire pit and another fire pit located near our brook for you to enjoy (Firewood available for purchase).

We live in a very peaceful and rural area of north central Vermont which provides a great mix of quiet and privacy, but is also with in an hours drive to most of the states interest points. There are 16 ski resorts within an hours drive, as well as breweries, State Parks, lakes and more. Fine dining is available within 30 minutes in multiple directions. Sitting at just over 1600’, we are in a unique microclimate that sometimes get a bit more snow than our surrounding towns. Our neighborhood is all tree lined winding dirt roads that weave along a tributary of the White River. Take a walk up the road to our closest neighbor who has a lovely Gotland sheep farm. The sheep and their guardian llama Alaska are typically grazing right by the road in front of the main barn. Kim is also a brilliant fiber artist and occasionally teaches various classes so please feel free to inquire about those if interested. Continue up the road to the dead end and turn left for breathtaking sunset views. If you're looking for something a little more sweaty, grab your bike or head out on a run "around our block" (about 4.5 miles) that takes you around and down to the bustling river, then leads you on a steady incline to an enchanted foot trail that winds up the hill and back around to the top of our road. Dirt roads abound and we're happy to help you figure out a path to explore =) We are also close to several snowmobile trails should you be inclined to stay with us while traveling the VAST.

House
Washington, Vermont, USA

This 1000 square foot home is located midway between Washington and Chelsea, Vermont. One of the few places I have ever been where you can go hours without hearing a man made noise. The main bedroom is on the second floor and includes a king size bed and two twin beds. A small full bathroom ,living room, kitchen and dining table are located on the first level. We also added an outdoor shower in 2025.
A sun porch is attached to the living room with a futon. Propane heat as well as a wood stove are also on the first level. Both stove and refrigerator are gas. There is a spring fed wildlife pond with a sand beach section and fire pit adjacent to the home. Parking is available for multiple vehicles.
The Town of Washington Clough Cemetery is just up the hill from the house and worth a visit. It is very small and we mow it. About once a year family members visit and pay respects to those interned there, please be respectful if someone visits. I have only seen one visit in the last 2 years so a visitor during your stay is very unlikely unless it's Memorial Day.
The closest local store is the Washington Village Store about 3 1/2 miles away and has most all the basics, plus a walk in beverage cooler! Also Will's store in Chelsea has some basics.
Nearby attractions within one hours drive include Barre, Montpelier, Woodstock, Quechee, Waterbury, Norwich, Stowe, Burlington, and Waitsfield.

- "House is beautiful. Grounds are beautiful. The flower gardens are absolutely breathtaking. The weather during our stay was in the middle 90’s so not having ac was a little hard. The only TV was in the family room that was located in the basement( lower level ) so was not really convenient having 2 children. Otherwise than being unseasonably hot. We had a tremendous vacation. " - "I went to Song Sparrow Cottage to work on a novel. I left with a few good chapters in my laptop and the lingering sense of a place that is gloriously away from the maddening crowd. I am infused with the stillness of the early mornings and evenings, the songs of the sparrows, finches and doves, the kaleidoscope of colors in the flower gardens where monarchs, swallowtails and hummingbirds dance, the tamed and untamed meadows, and the pools of sunlight on the forest floor. I am rested, too; the cottage, with its many wood accents and rustic décor, is a perfect setting for renewal. This is not a tourist destination. It is a place where one can walk or ski a woodland trail, have a drink by the fire of a wood stove, sit on the porch and take in the rolling peaks and valleys and gentle blue sky, or make a meal in the fully appointed kitchen. Song Sparrow Cottage may seem like it’s not very close to anywhere but its right down a country road to heaven. "

- "An amazing property and escape. It's better equipped than the agrarian version of the 4-seasons and you'll fall in love with the place. We stayed here to do some leaf-peeping in late September / Early October. It's everything you want and need to unwind, relax and escape; the scenery is breathtaking. Some advice..Do: visit Corinth and the farm to store market for vegetables, beer, farm grown meats, eggs. Take time to visit with the locals and come to recognize what makes this place special. Dont: expect to do work remotely - it's rural Vermont, take advantage of it. Do: walk the property, breathe deeply, listen to the stream, watch the highland cattle graze, wait for the beautiful sunset. Dont: expect to get anywhere quickly, it's rural Vermont. Do: drive the back-roads, encounter the unexpected. Don't: look at your watch, phone or whatever device you might have brought with you. Do: read the recommendations that the property owner has for activities in the surrounding area and citites. Do: sleep in, with the windows open. Dont: set an alarm. Do: sit on the balcony with a glass of wine. Don't: turn on the TV (although it's there and plenty of channel selections). I can't recommend this property highly enough."
