We live in a very peaceful and rural area of north central Vermont which provides a great mix of quiet and privacy, but is also with in an hours drive to most of the states interest points. There are 16 ski resorts within an hours drive, as well as breweries, State Parks, lakes and more. Fine dining is available within 30 minutes in multiple directions. Sitting at just over 1600’, we are in a unique microclimate that sometimes get a bit more snow than our surrounding towns. Our neighborhood is all tree lined winding dirt roads that weave along a tributary of the White River. Take a walk up the road to our closest neighbor who has a lovely Gotland sheep farm. The sheep and their guardian llama Alaska are typically grazing right by the road in front of the main barn. Kim is also a brilliant fiber artist and occasionally teaches various classes so please feel free to inquire about those if interested. Continue up the road to the dead end and turn left for breathtaking sunset views. If you're looking for something a little more sweaty, grab your bike or head out on a run "around our block" (about 4.5 miles) that takes you around and down to the bustling river, then leads you on a steady incline to an enchanted foot trail that winds up the hill and back around to the top of our road. Dirt roads abound and we're happy to help you figure out a path to explore =) We are also close to several snowmobile trails should you be inclined to stay with us while traveling the VAST.

Many other local hikes off the AT are close by, including Wright's Mountain in Bradford Town Forest (10 mi W) and Black Mountain in North Haverhill (10 mi N)

Just a short drive away, you can pick your own apples and kids can pet the animals at Windy Ridge. They also have a Cider House cafe and wine tasting! In addition, several family owned restaurants feature Farm-to-Table style menus. Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill has been serving up homemade breakfast to New Hampshire's White Mountain visitors for over 75 years. Newly renovated and now open year- round, they offer incredible views and unbeatable meals.

Check out the Old Church Theater in Bradford for local summer stage shows. You can also relive your youth at the Fairlee Drive in - featuring first run double features all summer long! Other attractions include gold-panning in the Ammonoosuc River, visiting the New England covered bridges ( Swiftwater, Bath, Woodsville), looking for Lost River in Woodstock, or taking the kids to Clark's Trading Post in Lincoln.
Shoppers will enjoy Farm-Way, Copeland Furniture Factory Store, and many other local stores featuring the crafts and handiwork of the Upper Valley, such as North of the Falls.

For winter guests, Piermont is uniquely central to many of the best east coast ski areas. In under an hour, you can be on the big mountain slopes of Bretton Woods, Loon and Cannon in NH, as well as the smaller family hills such as Dartmouth Skiway and Whaleback. Ski Killington, Okemo and Stowe VT and be back in time to enjoy our wood-fired sauna. The private river access directly behind the house is known for some of the best ice fishing in the area.

Visitors to Piermont River House will be sure to spot some local wildlife including deer, turkeys, bald eagles, ducks, geese and many varieties of songbirds.

We are also close to ATV and snowmobile trails, marked hiking and walking trails, zip-lining, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and multiple four-season Ski Resorts. We are also a short 15-minute drive away from the VT border for more fun activities.

- "Very clean cabin in an extremely quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Cabin is surrounded by trees and there is a nearby lake that is right down the street which is nice and quiet. Even though the neighborhood is quiet you are still close to places like Lincoln, Franconia, Littleton, etc. So, if you want the peace and quiet of the Whites, yet want to enjoy the touristy stuff, this is the perfect place. Also, extra amenities "in case you forgot". That was a great touch! Highly recommended!!"
