This lake home has the ideal location. The back deck and bedroom windows are about 15' from the water of Lower Elk Lake. Enjoy a cool morning breeze through your bedroom window. Out the front there is another 165' of private shore on Elk Lake to go with the 150' of shore on Lower Elk Lake. We have a private sandy beach, hammock, fire pit, dock, and a boat lift on Elk Lake. There is another dock on Lower Elk. Along with the pontoon boat we also have five kayaks, three paddle boats, and two stand-up paddle boards for you to enjoy.

The home features four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, dining room, rumpus room (with foos-ball table, electronic dart board, video games, and board games), eat-in kitchen, deck, two patio doors right on the lake, all on two-thirds of an acre. There are seven beds that will sleep up to ten people plus a futon and roll-out couch in this 1,600 square foot home. The kitchen has plenty of counter space and there is a washer and dryer. We have a flat screen TV, high-speed internet, and Amazon Firestick. If you have a Netflix account you can log in on the TV). You can bring up dogs if you'd like (if housebroken). If you don't like doing dishes there is also a brand-new dishwasher.

Elk lake is the best swimming lake in the county. There is a public sandy beach with lifeguards (certain hours only) only a very short walk away. There is a brand-new bike trail that runs from the public beach right to town.

Both Elk and Lower Elk are great sand bottom fishing lakes. In either lake you can go after Walleye, Northern Pike, Large mouth Bass, Crappie, and Sunfish. You're able to fish from the shore, one of the three docks or from a boat. There is even a fish cleaning table by the garage.

Only two miles away you can find Hoffman, MN. Hoffman is a small quiet town but you'll be able to get most of the necessities you'll need there. It has a gas station, a restaurant, a bar/restaurant, grocery store, liquor store, and other shops. In the town of Elbow Lake there is Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course. We have a special deal going with them, so contact me if you'd like to golf.

If you need a little more action than sleepy Hoffman is able to provide that's not a problem as you're only about twenty minutes away from Alexandria MN. Alexandria has lots of shopping at dozens of antique stores and other shops. There are plenty of restaurants, retail stores, golf courses, and even a winery.

- "We had such a great time at your cabin! Our grandkids thought the spiral staircase was “fun” but tough to go down with a dog. We just walked around to get him inside. Everything was just as it looked online. Had plenty of dishes for our group so the dishwasher was a lifesaver. Grandkids caught fish off the dock so that was a big deal for them. This quiet property sits at the end of a dead-end road and is surrounded by water on three sides. Huge windows in both the living room and family room display gorgeous lake views. Relax by our private 20-ft beach, and have a fire while you watch the sunset! This cozy home comfortably accommodates up to six guests, making it perfect for families or friends seeking to get away. Our property's excellent proximity to town ensures that you can easily explore and enjoy all the local attractions, dining spots, and shopping areas. Close to everything!

Other things to note
Very close proximately to most everything. Two-minute walk to our beach to enjoy the beautiful Lake Minnewaska waters. Park your boat right up on the beach. Boat landing and public beach is a block away, and Barsness Park has a bunch of activities including the new splash pad for the kiddos!! Glenwood is the home of Waterama (last full weekend every July) and Winterama (2nd weekend in February). Be sure to check out our Guest Guide for additional local information! Please note this is a new property, which has some work needed on the outside entrance staircase - take care in using the existing cement steps that display erosions on the ends, and do not have a railing. Additionally, the driveway is somewhat steep to get up to the very top to the entrance and firepit area

- "I cannot express how much we enjoyed staying at this property. Everything was immaculately clean and the items that were provided, which were a lot, were top notch. It was located close to the water and the public dock. We were able to easily walk to the dock and fish. The center of town was just down the road so it made getting groceries and shopping easy. Other cities and adventures were just a short drive away. I felt comfortable that the local hospital was right there in case something happened. Todd was very responsive and answered all my questions in a timely manner. Even though we did not end up renting a boat he was able to give us the information for boat rentals. You will not be disappointed staying at this property as it is at the center of everything. One thing to note, and it has nothing to do with the property, is the hours of operation for the local restaurants and when they serve dinner. You will want to investigate this when you get there if you are planning on eating out. Thank you for this wonderful experience!"

"The Lake House" has a beautiful view of Pelican Lake. Many large oak trees surround the house, which gives you a very cozy feeling and has a homie atmosphere. The property is just 5 minutes away from Glenwood, where you can have everything that you need, Also, it is 20 minutes south of Alexandria, Minnesota. Lake Minnewaska, is between Glenwood and Starbuck, which is only 5 minutes away. There are great eating establishments, which have dining by the lake.

There is a deck where you can relax and also, a bench on the dock, if you would like to be on the water. The lake has a public boat landing, if in case you want to bring your own boat where you can tie it to our dock which is just in our backyard. You never know if you will catch a bass, northern or walleye. The lake has pretty good fishing spots. The wildlife is plentiful in the area. It's common to see deer, geese or pheasants in the front yard.

This property is also available for Fall hunting or Winter rental, if you would care to go ice fishing.

This property is nestled in a residential area along Lake Minnewaska and just 3 short blocks from Lakeside Ballroom, the city park and Dairy Queen!

Lakeshore Drive provides 4+ miles of road along the lake — perfect for running and biking. Two mountain bikes are available for guests to use. Please bring your helmet ( safety first!).

The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans, dishes, utensils, essential spices, coffee, and tea.

Lawn chairs are located on the beach for relaxing. The dock is available for guests to fish or tie up your boat. You can typically catch panfish from the dock! Bring your fishing poles and you can buy bait in town.

In the winter, hundreds of fish houses are spotted on Lake Minnewaska. A fish house can be made available during your stay - just ask when you make your reservation.

- "My spouse and I stayed for a week and were especially pleased with the location which is within walking distance of downtown. The beach and dock are on the other side of the street that runs along the lake and in front of the house. There are lake views from the main bedroom and the living room. The house had every amenity that we needed for our stay. The bathroom is small but adequate. Welcome to our cozy cabin on Lake Minnewaska in Glenwood, Minnesota! This retreat features 2 bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen bed, providing a restful space for families or a peaceful getaway. You can tie a boat to the dock, but note that wind can pick up and we don't recommend leaving boats overnight. The boat launch is only a few miles away in town.

We recently bought the home next to our home on Lake Minnewaska located in Glenwood, MN. We have furnished the home and are now making it available for rent. Everything is pretty much provided including kitchen utensils,
grill, towels and bedding. This is a very nice two bedroom two bath home with a beautiful deck overlooking lake Minnewaska.

Minnewaska is an excellent lake for fishing including walleyes and bass. You also have your own private dock for you to use as you can see in the pictures.

We would like to find a person or mature quiet couple who are looking to rent a lake home in Glenwood for occasional use through out the year, either monthly or yearly or possibly weekly. We live in a quiet residential area that is very safe. The house is located right along the lake with the patio deck literally overlooking the water's edge.

This is a very nice attractive home with a modern kitchen, gas fireplace, and within a mile of downtown Glenwood. See pictures that are attached.

The rent rates are all shown on the web site and vary between summer rates and winter rates. Wifi and spectrum tv is provided. You are responsible for the electric bill. I pay all other utilities. No pets and no smoking. This is a very nice attractive cozy lake home. We also have a 16 foot fishing boat as well as an older pontoon along with a boat lift if needed. We also have a 6.5 x 12 foot ice castle fish house for use during the winter season. Again check out the pictures.

The unit has a queen size bed on the main floor and two beds upstairs, one is a double bed and the other is a single. The house could accommodate 4 people comfortably.
We do require a 30 day minimum stay in order to avoid being classified as commercial property. Thank you for checking us out.

- "Very well kept property and convenient location. Close to a beautiful public beach and several parks. Glenwood has everything you would need and having the owner next door is a plus. We enjoyed our stay. Byron and Phyllis were a joy to meet; very nice couple." - "This home is very well maintained and nice. The deck off the back of the house right next to the lake is amazing, and we spent as much time there as we could! The home is stocked with linens, a full kitchen, and anything you can think of that you might forget! Bryon and Phyllis were wonderful hosts and helped you in any way possible, but also gave you plenty of privacy! We went fishing for the week and caught lots of Northern Pike, Bass, and Sunfish. We were also able to catch fish off the dock when we were not using their pontoon. Lake Minnewaska is a very nice lake and we were able to see down 10-12 feet. They also have a nice beach on the lake in Glenwood with lifeguards. We swam at the beach one day and they had a slide my kids loved. The kids also enjoyed jumping off both docks. The docks were nice and Byron had just installed a new ladder on ours! Byron also checked the batteries and filled the gas up on the pontoon every day. He also ordered a new pump for the live well when he found out it wasn't working and got it up and working!!! The washer and dryer were a nice addition to the house and came in handy during our week there. The town of Glenwood is nice and has all the things you would need. We ate one night out at Lakeside Steak & Chop House, which is right on the lake. It had beautiful views and amazing food! I would definitely not think twice about renting this house! We will definitely be back for another stay, hopefully next summer! Thanks Byron & Phyllis for an amazing family vacation!"

The Lake Minnewaska lake house sits on the shore of beautiful Lake Minnewaska in Glenwood, MN. The Lake House has plenty of room and amenities for family vacations, girls weekends, fishing trips, or just a relaxing getaway. Pool use liability's waiver as well as premise use liability waiver will be required to be signed upon entering the property.

- "The pool and hot tub were excellent. Beds were average to above average. King-size bed is really a Queen. Comfortably sleeps 10 upstairs and 11downstairs. Living room furniture is ready for replacement along with the patio chairs. It was fun being able to get 8 chairs around the table for food and games. Appliances, kitchen items and linens were perfect. Loved having a good washing machine and dryer. Overall, loved being there. Would love to stay there again sometime."
