- "What a beautiful place! The outside of this historic home was perfectly manicured and the colors of the trees and flowers blooming added to the spring vibes. Brenda was so welcoming and took time when we arrived to tell us some history of the home and the area. She had local menus for dinner options and, knowing that we were there for a weekend of antiquing, had a brochure with all the local spots! Our room was charming, and my the bed was comfy. Breakfast was amazing, too, and we sat with Brenda and her husband Mark and shared stories. We had to leave before breakfast on the last day, but Brenda made sure we had coffee to go and some fresh fruit and bread for our drive home. Despite the beautiful landscape I didn’t see an outdoor lounging spot, which would’ve been nice, but there might have been one though I didn’t ask. That wouldn’t deter me from returning, though! Highly recommend this gorgeous home and its owners!! "

It really just sounded like white noise from inside the house. It was louder outside, but didn't disturb our coffee on the porch. Highly recommended by us!"

The Handel Haus, our 3 bedroom vacation rental, is situated along the main plaza of Stoudtburg Village, a small Bavarian village, in Northern Lancaster County, PA. The charm and uniqueness you will find in this quaint little old world village will keep you coming back, time and time again. The main part of Stoudtburg village features homes with quaint little shops below and living area on the second and third floor. Throughout the village you will find a wonderful coffee shop, Knick knack shops, jewelry store, yoga studio, German restaurant and much more. Not to mentions the abundance of antique shops and flea markets surrounding the village.

The Handel Haus is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom vacation rental. Most houses located in the Bavarian Village feature a shop on the lower level and living quarters on the 2nd and 3rd floor. As you enter our home you will be directed up the stairs to the main living quarters. The master bedroom has a king size bed and in suite bathroom with both bathtub and shower. The 2nd floor also features the living room with gas-log fireplace and flat screen T.V. The dining room boasts a table for 4 with some extra boards in case more room is needed. The dining room also has a small standing balcony that looks out over the main plaza. The kitchen is equipped with all your cooking needs. This is a great space for holiday getaway in beautiful Lancaster, Pa.

The third floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom and an additional sitting area with a flat screen T.V. The bedrooms on the third floor feature two twin beds and a queen size bed. This space is what makes is wonderful for families, the kids can camp out on the 3rd floor while the adults enjoy time together on the main floor.

Please note that these homes do have a bunch of stairs. The living quarters are located on the second and third floor, but the laundry room is located downstairs in the basement.

- "The property and the area around it looked surreal. I felt like I was in a storybook or traveled back in time. The location gave us convenient access to Lancaster, various farmer’s markets, antique stores, and thrift stores. There are plenty of pamphlets provided to help you plan a trip if you haven’t beforehand. Also, make sure you receive a second e-mail (not from VRBO, but from the host) that will help you check-in a couple of days before. I didn’t receive anything and thought I would get it right at my check in time, which I found out was not the case. I don’t blame the host since this was a technical error and not intentional. Just message the host if you don’t get one to prevent checking in delays. Pros about the property: • Plenty of appliances and supplies provided. • Spacious home in a safe neighborhood. • Beautifully decorated. • Nice kitchen that’s well ventilated. • Beautiful view of the surrounding area. • Plenty of beds. I went with my elderly parents and aunts, and the set up was perfect where we each had our own beds. • Pamphlets of attractions and nearby restaurants provided. • Host was easy to reach and communicate with when needed. • Amazing bathroom in the master bedroom. Cons about the property: • Plumbing issues with the upstairs shower. It wasn’t frequent, but there were times it just would stop draining the water properly for a few minutes. It always ended up resolving itself so we didn’t have too much of an issue."

Location was good for much of what we did (Sight and Sound theatre, Turkey Hill, Strasburg train). It was a bit far from Gettysburg and Hershey Park, but still worked out well for us. As you enter our home through your private entrance, you will be directed up the stairs to the main living quarters. The master bedroom has a king size bed and in-suite bathroom with both bathtub and shower. The 2nd floor also features a living room with gas log fireplace and 55inch flat screen "smart" T.V. The dining room boasts a table for 4 people (additional chairs are stored in laundry room for larger parties. The dining room also has a small standing balcony that looks out over the main plaza, including the Village fountain, directly below your place. The kitchen is equipped with all your cooking needs, plus a few necessities we stock our kitchen with, plus any suggestions you would have. This is a great space for a holiday getaway in beautiful Lancaster.

Our Conestoga wagon is tucked in a campsite along the woods at the Dutch Cousin Campground located near Denver, Pennsylvania.
The triple-layer waterproof “bonnet” provides a year-round climate-controlled (with heat & a/c) environment.

We provide the linens and blankets for the queen-sized bed with an inclining head/foot option. There is a heating pad on the mattress to ensure you will stay warm in the winter (although we have never had problems staying warm with the installed heating system). Electrical outlets are conveniently placed throughout. The bedside touch lamps contain USB charging ports. Extra blankets are available.

There is a bathroom in the wagon with a shower, toilet, and sink. We provide washcloths, towels, soap & shampoo.

The bar area has a refrigerator, microwave/convection/air fry oven, Keurig coffee maker, and kitchen utensils.
The dinette corner includes a wagon wheel table and 2 chairs, cups, bowls, and plates.

The adjoining deck and patio area have a gazebo, table and chairs, firepit, gas grill, and hammock.

We provide a bundle of firewood for each night's rental. Additional bundles are available for purchase.

Guests have exclusive access to the entire campsite, which has private fencing on both sides extending back to the woods.
The campsite includes 2 parking spaces in the front, the wagon, the deck, patio with gazebo and firepit area, and a hammock area behind that.

There is parking for 2 vehicles in front of the wagon.
Guests can drive around the campground in their vehicles, or walk, bike, etc.
