Cute, clean bungalow located within walking distance from everything downtown Ferndale has to offer. Located on a residential street allowing you to enjoy your peace and quiet. Whether you are in town for business or pleasure, this location is perfect. Close to Ferndale restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and the Detroit Zoo. Keypad entry makes coming and going a breeze. Can hold a max of 5 people. However, it would be a very tight fit with that many people since it is a small 600 square foot bungalow.

Pets are welcome. Additional $50 fee charged at booking.

The place also has a small kitchen, living area, and dining room with a table that can seat 4. Laundry is located in the basement and there is a small side yard. 1 parking space in driveway with additional street parking nearby.

- "Sweet little house in a quiet neighborhood. Close to downtown. Very walkable. Hosts provided friendly touches, such as snacks and bottled water. Extremely comfortable beds. Nice screened in porch and cute lush backyard. Hosts made sure we checked in okay and then let us be, which is my favorite. Only negatives (that didn't significantly impact us but others should be aware): -House is not accessible if you have serious mobility issues (several stairs up to the front door). -Kitchen is comically small. The hosts have arranged it the best they could to maximize space, but do not plan to cook any large or elaborate meals during your stay. Side note: Neighbor who lives behind the house copulated with someone, outside in full view, while we were sitting on the front stairs one night. He had also arranged his TV and couch to be out there... perhaps to woo the young lady pre-copulation? One minute they were watching Breaking Bad and then suddenly bare bum cheeks and feet in the air. Odd but entertaining. Pretty perfect otherwise."

- "We loved our stay in this house. The house was so historical. The neighbors were very friendly as was the host. We come to Michigan once a year and if house is available we would definitely stay here." - "Cozy little 2 bedroom. It was clean. The management for the property was very helpful and answered in a timely fashion for any concerns. Was disappointed about no TVs in the bedroom. But overall it was good stay ." - "The photos online looked fine, but in person was much different. It was hard to find the key when I got there. There weren’t a lot of lights and the lock box was attached to the cast iron railing of the porch. I called the property contact who was very friendly and helpful. He turned the heat on from his phone for me. However, The furniture seemed like it was all second hand or from a thrift store. The front room and dining room were tolerable. The kitchen did not have a real coffee maker(it had a French press). There were communal condiments in the fridge which had been previously used. This really grossed me out. The bathroom had mold around the ceiling and around the tub. The bathtub mold was covered by these flexible rubber things(kind of like door sweeps). Also, the beds were terrible. Neither one had a box spring. They both were thin and hard. They must’ve had a plastic sheet around them because they were noisy. The comforter and shams were old brocade fabric that was shredded in places. The pillows were so thin that I had to take all of them to support my head. There was a green extension cord next to the bed to plug things into. The bedroom also had an exterior door with a window. The window had a metal grate over it, which made me feel nervous. The flood light outside was motion sensitive and kept going on and off repeatedly all night. The curtains were sheer and did not block out light or provide privacy. I did not feel safe in this apartment. I could not sleep and booked a hotel for the rest of the trip. I will be submitting pictures and filing an insurance claim. I could not stay in this place."

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

- "Disappointed that VRBO allowed this host to use a third party service for the booking as my trip was not available on the VRBO app and therefore could not communicate with the host. The host messaged me the day of check-in with the door code and wifi passcodes and told me to let him know if I needed anything. Because of the above issue, you could not use the VRBO app to contact him and he did not give out a phone number. The WiFi password did not work so the front room tv did not work as it was a wifi tv. The bedroom tv did work and I was able to hotspot my iPad off of my phone so that really wasn’t a big issue for me as I was only staying 2 nights. The window air conditioner was on when I arrived which was strange as it was November and cool. Shut it off and left to visit family and found out when I came back that it was running because you couldn’t adjust the heat because the thermostat had been removed except for the back face plate, wires exposed and no way to turn the heat down or off. Went to get a drink of water and got sprayed by the kitchen sink sprayer as it was stuck on spray and I couldn’t get it to change so that water came out of the faucet. Next morning, went to take a shower and the piece that changes the water flow from tub to shower was gone but water came out of both so was able to shower. No hair dyer as advertised in the listing. The one wall of the living room was all windows with slat blinds. 6 of the slats were missing so anyone walking by."

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have a fine and possible removal for violations.

There is a $750 security deposit authorization hold when your reservation begins. We will charge $300 for the first smoking violation (with possible removal from the unit), and the remaining $450 for the second smoking violation (with guaranteed removal from the unit).

Our street is permit-only after 4 pm, but we have a parking spot for one car for this unit in the rear of our property off the back alley. Feel free to park on the street near the duplex until 4 pm, but after please park in our spot so you don't get a ticket! In addition, there is plenty of free street parking on the blocks around us as well, so parking shouldn't be an issue!

The unit is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock at the duplex front door and on the unit door. To enter each one, enter the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, enter that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

Air Mattress: Stored in one of our closets, you will find a queen-size air mattress for additional sleeping space. Designed for camping, it’s extra-sturdy and provides a wonderful sleeping space for two. To inflate, please plug in the pump and wait for it to charge. Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate. You’ll find extra linens and towels in the pullout couch storage compartment as well.

- "When u get there, you have to park in the back alley. We didn't feel safe. There was trash (used tissue and roll) plus wrappers, empty water bottles, etc. under the bed and couch. Everytime you take a step the floors squeak so we were tiptoeing around and felt we had to stop doing anything fairly early. Our entrance was right next to the lower level so we had to go up stairs instead of using the back entrance. The cosmetics of the apartment were cute but it wasn't worth it!!"

6. About Transportation
Our house is close to several bus stops. It will be more convenient if you drive your cars to here or rent cars here or get an Uber or a Lyft than take the buses.

7. Additional 5% Discount for Military Service Members & Veterans
We really appreciate military service members & veterans' service and sacrifice so much! We offer an additional 5% discount for our heroes. As soon as military service members or veterans check in our houses, we will refund them 5% of their payment except cleaning fee in the next day.
