PARKING: The driveway is shared with the other unit within the duplex. Parking in drive is first come first serve. But free parking can be found on the street. The neighborhood is not very busy so can easily find parking in front of home!

The unit has a unique open floor plan and has a 50 inch smart TV where you can access all your favorite streaming services. - "My son and I were in town for a show. It was an easy drive from downtown and easy to get in and relax as well. Great price.. Will be back" - "This is a great place to come enjoy downtown Ferndale. Great accomadations and host.Highly recommended." - "Apartment was very clean and well kept. Area is pretty central, about 20/25 mins from dt which was nice. In terms of the complex, if ur a girl staying by urself, it may not feel the most safe at night. Amenities wise, there was no soap for the shower, I had to buy some. The check in time on the listing was 3pm, but the host told me 4pm, so I was waiting in limbo for an hour. Communication overall was not good, upon arrival I realized there was no directions about parking. I was later told visitor was fine, but sometimes spots weren’t available. I also inquired about a later checkout and he ignored my questions instead of just saying yes/no which was frustrating. Overall my stay was good, but the lack of communication caused a lot of frustration."

- "We loved our stay in this house. The house was so historical. The neighbors were very friendly as was the host. We come to Michigan once a year and if house is available we would definitely stay here." - "Cozy little 2 bedroom. It was clean. The management for the property was very helpful and answered in a timely fashion for any concerns. Was disappointed about no TVs in the bedroom. But overall it was good stay ." - "The photos online looked fine, but in person was much different. It was hard to find the key when I got there. There weren’t a lot of lights and the lock box was attached to the cast iron railing of the porch. I called the property contact who was very friendly and helpful. He turned the heat on from his phone for me. However, The furniture seemed like it was all second hand or from a thrift store. The front room and dining room were tolerable. The kitchen did not have a real coffee maker(it had a French press). There were communal condiments in the fridge which had been previously used. This really grossed me out. The bathroom had mold around the ceiling and around the tub. The bathtub mold was covered by these flexible rubber things(kind of like door sweeps). Also, the beds were terrible. Neither one had a box spring. They both were thin and hard. They must’ve had a plastic sheet around them because they were noisy. The comforter and shams were old brocade fabric that was shredded in places. The pillows were so thin that I had to take all of them to support my head. There was a green extension cord next to the bed to plug things into. The bedroom also had an exterior door with a window. The window had a metal grate over it, which made me feel nervous. The flood light outside was motion sensitive and kept going on and off repeatedly all night. The curtains were sheer and did not block out light or provide privacy. I did not feel safe in this apartment. I could not sleep and booked a hotel for the rest of the trip. I will be submitting pictures and filing an insurance claim. I could not stay in this place."

It is located on a quiet street off of 9 mile in downtown Ferndale. Easy walking access to the downtown area and all the greatest restaurants the city has to offer! Please be respectful of other guests that are staying in the lower unit. Since this is a shared duplex we ask you observe quiet hours from 7am-10pm.

The private home is part of a duplex and can be accessed through a private entrance. Please note, you must walk up stairs to access this unit.
Parking: the driveway is shared with the lower unit. If guests are staying in the lower unit, parking in driveway is first come first serve. However, there is plenty of free street parking available!

This unique space offers a 1 bedroom and 1 bath with a queen bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything needed to cook meals. The unit has a unique open floor plan and has a 50 inch smart TV where you can access all your favorite streaming services. The bathroom has a modern, concrete, walk-in shower with detachable spray bar.

The backyard can be accessed by walking around the west side of the home to get to the area. The space is divided into two yards and separated by a privacy fence. There is a fire pit and patio furniture for you to enjoy some downtime and hangout with friends and family!

Home is part of a duplex and is the upper unit of the building. The lower unit may be rented out by other guests during your stay. At times it may be a little noisy so we provide complimentary ear buds to help you sleep through the night!

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have a fine and possible removal for violations.

There is a $750 security deposit authorization hold when your reservation begins. We will charge $300 for the first smoking violation (with possible removal from the unit), and the remaining $450 for the second smoking violation (with guaranteed removal from the unit).

Our street is permit-only after 4 pm, but we have a parking spot for one car for this unit in the rear of our property off the back alley. Feel free to park on the street near the duplex until 4 pm, but after please park in our spot so you don't get a ticket! In addition, there is plenty of free street parking on the blocks around us as well, so parking shouldn't be an issue!

- "Disappointed that VRBO allowed this host to use a third party service for the booking as my trip was not available on the VRBO app and therefore could not communicate with the host. The host messaged me the day of check-in with the door code and wifi passcodes and told me to let him know if I needed anything. Because of the above issue, you could not use the VRBO app to contact him and he did not give out a phone number. The WiFi password did not work so the front room tv did not work as it was a wifi tv. The bedroom tv did work and I was able to hotspot my iPad off of my phone so that really wasn’t a big issue for me as I was only staying 2 nights. The window air conditioner was on when I arrived which was strange as it was November and cool. Shut it off and left to visit family and found out when I came back that it was running because you couldn’t adjust the heat because the thermostat had been removed except for the back face plate, wires exposed and no way to turn the heat down or off. Went to get a drink of water and got sprayed by the kitchen sink sprayer as it was stuck on spray and I couldn’t get it to change so that water came out of the faucet. Next morning, went to take a shower and the piece that changes the water flow from tub to shower was gone but water came out of both so was able to shower. No hair dyer as advertised in the listing. The one wall of the living room was all windows with slat blinds. 6 of the slats were missing so anyone walking by."

Once the light on it is solid (not blinking), unplug the pump, insert the end into the air mattress, and flip the switch to inflate. You’ll find extra linens and towels in the pullout couch storage compartment as well.

For public transportation, the house is a 4-minute walk from public transportation on Woodward Ave! The most convenient stop is Woodward @ Albany. In addition, the Woodward @ 9-mile road bus stop is also a sub-5-minute walk away for you to catch east/west buses!

- "When u get there, you have to park in the back alley. We didn't feel safe. There was trash (used tissue and roll) plus wrappers, empty water bottles, etc. under the bed and couch. Everytime you take a step the floors squeak so we were tiptoeing around and felt we had to stop doing anything fairly early. Our entrance was right next to the lower level so we had to go up stairs instead of using the back entrance. The cosmetics of the apartment were cute but it wasn't worth it!!"

Access to the SANCTUARY STUDIO (Unit #2) is through the back. There is a parking space near your door for you. You have full access to the studio including the washer/dryer in your unit.
