- "The apartment is well fitted to cook full meals and comfortably stay in a peaceful neighborhood. There is some traffic noise but it is minimal. We don't mind white noise but you do need to be able to handle white noise in the summer to sleep with the AC. Our only real "complaint" that makes me consider four stars is the lack of towels(2 body towels total) and the lack of variety/options in bedding/blankets. Otherwise there are little details everywhere that are appreciated."

PLEASE NOTE: This apartment is directly above Mash Bar. Mash bar is open Thursday -Saturday from 6pm-1am. There is usually live music playing and the sounds transfers considerably. Please keep this in mind if you are a light sleeper or hoping to go to bed at an early time on any of these weekdays.

This space features a dedicated parking spot on the premises. There is ample uber, Lyft and bus transportation as well as plenty to do within walking distance!

- "We had a great time staying here for a week. Micah was a great host. He kept in touch multiple times thru the week asking if we needed anything. We realized a few days in that we only had 2 towels. We messaged him and he had 2 more dropped off for us. We knew about the bar with live music before booking, and figured we could do something on those nights to stay out later. On Saturday night, we weren't out too late, so we heard the music below, but it happened to be a jazz band of some sort, so it wasn't really loud. And they ended well before 1am, so it worked out well for us. I think if you can plan to stay up or be out until 12-1am on those nights you'll be fine. There is a train that runs next to the building a few times a day/night. I'm a light sleeper, and it woke me up, but my wife slept through it. But the king sized bed was so comfy I was able to go right back to sleep. The shower had plenty of water pressure, and would get hot quickly. The kitchen had plenty of cooking dishes and utensils, which we used numerous times. And we could throw everything in the dishwasher to clean them. The dedicated parking space is very close to the entrance. But we didn't have to leave often, as there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Overall we had a fantastic time and will definitely book again when we're visiting the area."

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

We share our driveway with our upstairs neighbor. Please park on the right-hand side of the driveway. We have installed signage for Apartment 1 parking. Our side of the driveway fits up to two cars in tandem.

Please note there’s no street parking on our street. If you need more parking space, there is extra free street parking available on the southbound side of a nearby street west of and perpendicular to our street, which is only a few steps away!

Pullout Couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!

Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress.

This bright, newly-renovated two-bedroom upper-level duplex unit is nestled on Ypsilanti’s east side just a few blocks from Depot Town, a quick ride to EMU, and a 20-min ride to Ann Arbor! We have a beautifully-renovated kitchen with granite countertops, custom tile backsplash, a gas grill outside on our upper level porch, and a fire pit with chairs around the back of our property which is shared with the guests in the lower unit. There's parking on the premises for two cars and free street parking for more. This is the perfect spot for any gathering or getaway!

Our home is the upper level (second story) of a duplex with its own entry via an exterior stairwell located right next to the driveway. The kitchen, living room, office nook, bathroom, and both bedrooms are all located on one level. Outside but up the stairs, we also have a gas grill and on the ground level through a small gate, you'll find a small sitting area with a fire pit that is shared with the lower level unit guests (also a rental unit).

99% of guests are visiting family, friends, on a work trip, or just exploring town. For anyone who intends to have a party, disturb the neighborhood, or in any other way violate our house rules, we want to make clear that:

We have a zero-tolerance policy for this. We have noise sensors that alert us if decibel levels pass a certain threshold, and we have unfortunately had to ask guests to leave for violating this rule. Being a good neighbor of the city and the block we are on is very important to us.

We have sensors to detect indoor smoking (nicotine and marijuana) and have an automatic $750 fine for violations, and have also had to ask guests to leave early for violating this rule.

We share our driveway with the downstairs neighbor. Please park on the right-hand side of the driveway. We have installed signage for Apartment 2 (this unit) parking. Our side of the driveway fits up to two cars in tandem.

Please note there’s no street parking on our street. If you need more parking space, there is extra free street parking available on the southbound side of a nearby street west of and perpendicular to our street, which is only a few steps away!

The unit is fully accessible via a YALE smart lock on the front door. To enter, type the code we provide in your reservation check-in instructions, and press the CHECK to unlock.

When leaving, type that same code followed by the CHECK mark and the deadbolt will close. The locks will also auto-lock after one minute if you forget to lock.

We are available whenever you need! Please feel free to reach out via the app or website you booked on with any specific questions. For any health emergencies, please dial 911. If a system malfunctions (i.e hot water not functioning or a light has gone out), please send us a message on the app or website you booked on and we will be sure to address it in as short a time as possible (we usually respond within a few minutes). We also have handymen, electricians, plumbers, and landscapers with whom we work, so for any extenuating circumstances, we will happily bring them out to solve your issues post haste!

Extra Sleeping Arrangements

Pullout Couch: Underneath the horizontal seat you will find two fabric handles. Pull them out from under the couch and raise up the extra mattress section from underneath the couch. Remove the couch pillows to make space for two!

Extra Linens: Underneath the chaise section of the couch you will find four bath towels and four hand towels, four pillows, a comforter, and extra sets of sheets and pillowcases for the couch and air mattress.

We love hosting folks, so we want to be as respectful as possible to our wonderful neighbors. Since we’re in a quiet neighborhood, we do ask that you follow a few easy rules:

- No parties & no overnight guests without prior approval. If you’re looking to host a small gathering, that’s probably ok but please let us know.
- Respectful, quiet volume, particularly after 9 pm.
- Please leave your shoes at the door.
- No pets please, as many of the guests we host have allergies.
- No smoking - also, don't discard your cigarettes in house trash cans. They get stinky.
- If you break or damage something, please let us know and arrange for its replacement or repair.
- Do not leave any food out that will attract uninvited pests. Our home is pest-free and we intend to keep it that way with your help.

The space
Our home, like many in Midtown, was converted from a large single-family home into a 4-plex many years ago due to its proximity to Eastern Michigan University. There are two apartments on the top floor which are Airbnb rentals. Both use the front door & stairs for initial entry but have their own private entry with touchscreen door lock. You will have your own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, TV room. There is no laundry on-site. If you need recommendations for where to wash clothes during longer stays, we're happy to point you in the right direction. The apartment is on the second floor and will require climbing a narrow set of stairs. The house is over 150 years old and has some charm as it has maintained some elements of the original build over the last century and a half including some framing, windows, and doors. We hope you'll appreciate what we've done with the place, and we're always looking to improve!

Your apartment is private with seamless access via a lock box at the front door and a smart touchscreen lock on the apartment door. The stairs & foyer outside your apartment are shared with the apartment across the hall, so it's possible you may meet other guests coming or going on your way up or down the stairs.

There is a giant world map in the foyer before the stairs and we encourage you to place one of the small stickers provided on the map so we can keep track of all the guests who stay here!

- This is a private unit that is located in a larger, multi-unit home. There are no shared spaces, but you may hear light noise as the other tenants walk throughout the house.

- Pets are allowed! We do ask that you please pick up after your pet and acknowledge the $25 pet fee. If you have a 'talkative' pet, we just ask that you are mindful of the tenants in the units adjacent to the space.

- Roku TV is available, just bring your streaming credentials!

- Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. - 7 a.m.

First floor tenant is a full time resident who does have a dog. You will not have any interaction with tenant or dog. The dog has never been in the upstairs apartment.

The ceiling in your unit is double-insulated, but you may still hear other guests in the upstairs unit walking around and living their lives sometimes. We require all guests to be respectful of quiet hours.

The ceilings are 7'5" throughout most of the apartment and 6'6" in one small hallway section and the small area over the desk.

PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING! This apartment is directly above Mash Bar. Mash bar is open Wednesday -Saturday from 6pm-1am. There is usually live music playing and the sounds transfers considerably. Some guests have even reported the floors shaking from the live music! Please keep this in mind if you are a light sleeper or hoping to go to bed at an early time on any of these weekdays.
