We have enjoyed walking to restaurants, shops, parks and many other wonderful amenities nearby. Everything inside the apartment is brand new (furniture, kitchen items, bedding and mattresses, washer and dryer, etc.). What’s not new is the house. It’s a historical home (and feels like it), so don’t expect level floors and perfect walls. Those imperfections are part of the charm of living in this adorable neighborhood. The front porch is one of my favorite parts of the house, as well as the spacious parking area. The apartment has everything included for your stay — toiletries, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, fully stocked kitchen, new towels — which were very helpful to us. The furniture in my opinion needs to be updated and replaced. The room was a two bedroom two bath and was spacious enough for my wife and I to relax comfortably even with our two boys. The pool that the property offered in the listing was actually open this weekend, the water was warm, and our kids enjoyed several hours of swimming each day. As one who enjoys exercising and weight lifting, the weight room facilities were beyond acceptable for hotel accommodations and I was only sad that I didn't have the opportunity to use it. The location was beyond exceptional, offering groceries and restaurants within minutes, and quick access to the highways that took us directly downtown and to the museums and zoo that we wanted to see. Overall, we absolutely give this listing a five out of five and absolutely looks like the castle it is when you're driving past on the highway!"

This amazing apartment is in a quaint neighborhood in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids. My neighbors are quiet and friendly working professionals. The apartment is in a residential area, just blocks from all the exciting treasures that downtown Grand Rapids has to offer... museums, festivals, fireworks, sporting events (and its Beer City designation) have brought in visitors from around the world.

- "My husband and I were in for my niece's graduation. This place was perfect. We enjoyed the downtown area. I wish we had more time but we will definitely stay here when we come back. Make sure to get the MOTU app when parking at the meters. Sat and Sun are free to park so we totally just spent $10.30 on Thursday and Friday to park. Read the signs on the meters though some only allow 2 hours at a time parking max. The Host Bryce was quickly reachable and answered all my questions before the trip, during and even after the trip. which was great. The pictures shown are exactly like the unit. The noise from the downstairs restaurant that some other reviews mentioned, I did not hear a thing and I'm a light sleeper. However, Bryce did have ear plugs on the bed side table if you needed them. Simple and cozy. Since it's on the third floor, it's got architectural angles. The bed is currently in the L shaped living room, and the second room is set up as a dressing room with makeup table. You can switch that if you like. Also has a Futon in the living area.

Since it's rented by the month, you have the entire apartment. About 400 sq ft. Enter from the back, near the parking area, which was the staff entrance in the olden days, so we've made that hall our photo/art "gallery."

This 2 bedroom apartment is in the perfect location. 2-minute walk to the medical mile, a 10-minute walk to downtown, and about 4 blocks from the highway for easy access (although just far enough from the highway that you can't hear highway noise).

The apartment has beautiful, 12-foot ceilings, natural hardwood floors and is fully furnished. Laundry is in the basement and is free and street parking is easy and free year-round.

This is a safe space and all walks of life are welcome!

The whole upper unit is yours for the stay! Though the yard is shared and open, there is no overlap in indoor living space between the upper and lower unit so you an enjoy the place to yourself
You will utilize keyless self check-in via a smart lock with a keypad.

All pets need to be disclosed at initial booking. There will be a $150 non refundable pet fee for the duration of your stay (not included in booking fee shown). You will be responsible for any damage your pet causes to the property or furniture.

This is an upper unit with a 1 bedroom unit located below that is also available for rent. Since the upper unit is directly above, you may be able to hear some footsteps from the downstairs tenant.

Please remember you are staying in someones home with newly purchased furniture. Treat the space and the furniture with respect so future guests can enjoy. Any damage noted will be charged directly to you through the airbnb claims process after check-out

No smoking on site! This includes inside unit and decks and porches, and immediately adjacent to the building. Snuff completely and pick up butts.
Each unit has number of guests listed. Rents are for one person. Extra guests may be allowed, with permission. Extra guests in unit are $10 per person per night additional charge for each night from date of first stay.
Parking is limited to one vehicle per unit. Street parking is available for extra cars. Delivery/pickup vehicles may park in front. Non-registered vehicles may enter the parking area for delivery, pickup and dropoff; however, the registered guest accepts responsibility for any damages that may arise to property or other vehicles from any vehicles entering and turning around, for guests benefit. For the enjoyment of all guests, Guests will maintain a calm quiet atmosphere at all times and limit occupancy to two temporary visitors/guests unless arrangements are made for special exceptions. Frequent coming and going by non-registered visitors to the unit is not permitted.
While a calm quiet atmosphere shall be maintained at all times, quiet hours are 11 PM to 8 AM, during which times particular care shall be taken to avoid TV, music, laughter, exclamations, loud footsteps, or any noises that would be loud enough to be heard in adjacent units. When entering the building, please keep voices to a minimum in hallways.
For guests benefit, video cameras are in use on the exterior of the building and common hallways. There are no cameras in units.
Guests should not keep valuables in vehicles. While we consider the area to be safe from our own experience, Grand Rapids is a large urban area, and guests are urged to take care to be responsible for their personal safety at all times.
Guests may be under either or both rules/ordinances, laws that apply to hotels, or residential rental, as elected by the operator. In the event of an extension or long term rental, guests shall abide by such requirements as providing written notice of vacating unit.

The space
This is the upstairs of a 1910 home with its own entrance via an exterior door. This is an older home with all the charms and quirks that come with that. I live downstairs with my own kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, etc. There is an interior door at the bottom of the staircase, locked from my side. I work remotely as a technology consultant and have a cat (Savannah). I've been an Airbnb guest a number of times so I have thought a lot about my own experiences of being a guest and how to create a great experience as a host.

Because I live downstairs and work from home, I am looking for guests who share a desire for a quiet stay.

For liability reasons and my privacy, only guests on your reservation are allowed on-site. No visitors please.

There is a basic kitchen appropriate for light cooking.

I use eco-friendly and unscented/low-scent products for cleaning the apartment and washing bedding and towels, brands such as Seventh Generation, Mrs. Meyers, and Branch Basics. I have a couple of sandalwood and amber essential oil reed diffusers in the apartment but no other fragrance.

Note: The stairs into the apartment are narrow, steep, and creaky and open into the apartment with no door at the top and will frequently be walked by when moving through the apartment -- please see photos at the end of the listing. They may be a concern for anyone with mobility issues or small children.
