The pool that the property offered in the listing was actually open this weekend, the water was warm, and our kids enjoyed several hours of swimming each day. As one who enjoys exercising and weight lifting, the weight room facilities were beyond acceptable for hotel accommodations and I was only sad that I didn't have the opportunity to use it. The location was beyond exceptional, offering groceries and restaurants within minutes, and quick access to the highways that took us directly downtown and to the museums and zoo that we wanted to see. What a thrill driving up to that spectacular structure for the first time. I had planned this trip for months and the reaction from our grandchildren made it all worth it. The little 5-year-old boy is still talking about staying in a castle. The location was ideal--close to many activities and plenty of stores and shops without stressful traffic. The check-in process and communication with management was prompt and courteous prior to and upon our arrival. The building was quiet and security was well managed. The three levels afforded us plenty of privacy and the ability to spread out. Of course the lovely outdoor pool was a hit and we really appreciated the two upper decks with comfortable lounge furniture and spectacular views. Many hours were spent there. The pool table and poker tables were also put to good use. The kitchen and laundry facilities were convenient and very well equipped. The dining table was large enough for all 13 of us to sit at the same time. We were surprised the refrigerator didn't have an icemaker, which was a little inconvenient. The sleeping accommodations allow for only 2 private bedrooms, which wasn't an issue for us since we were all one family with our children, but might not be quite as good for some groups with all adults. The apartment complex was whimsical with some very very nice amenities. Their library was awesome and the different facilities available for the residents and guests were fantastic. Nothing's perfect. The elevator stopped working on the last day we were there. (I'm glad it was only 4 flights of stairs.) We had discovered fleas in the apartment while we were there. I notified the property managers who were less than helpful and rather insulting. They first suggested I go around and take pictures of the fleas. {Do they not know what a flea looks like?} I immediately became offended. When I asked if they were serious about the photos they replied the unit didn't have fleas because pets are not allowed in the apartment. (I'm offended again) Year round residents of the Grand Castle have dogs going up and down the hallway constantly. They are allowed pets. I felt the property managers were insinuating my wife and I brought the fleas with us. This could be true since there are many residents with dogs and we could have picked up a few hitchhiking fleas while we walked the hallways. The furnishings in the apartment were sparse and uncomfortable, especially the beds. Two pieces of furniture in the living room, a small couch and a window seat. Not enough chairs. I don't want to end on a sour note. My wife and I would stay there again. We liked the overall cleanliness, spaciousness."

- "Overall, our stay was good. We were celebrating a family member’s milestone birthday (80th) and wanted something close to downtown GR. We were expecting a large 7 bedroom apartment. Upon arrival, we learned we were given 3 separate apartments, which was disappointing because I feel we were misled by the advertising published in VRBO. The apartments were very clean and in good condition. We had some issues with check-in, originally given wrong building entry codes & incorrect parking spot. Both were remedied quickly by Mitten. If you’re looking for a large place to stay for many guests and are expecting it to be one central living quarters, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re okay with separate apartments, you will enjoy this place. Location was great, literally 10 minutes to Van Andel arena. "

Our designed large two bedroom apartment is a great place for you to stay on your visit to Grand Rapids. We are 1/4 mile to both an in-town and major express-way artery allowing you to get anywhere in Grand Rapids easy and fast. 10 minutes or less to Downtown, Airport, Malls, Steelcase, X-Rite. Public Transportation is 200ft from the front of our building. Ample free parking. Two queen beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Designed to giving a homey feel, we want this to be your home away from home.

The space
When you enter the home you will see the very open large family room, seeing through the family room into the kitchen. The dinning room table with seating for 4 off to your left. You will see the bar with 2 stools, and the large kitchen with everything you need. Looking back into the living room there is a very large sofa and 2 chairs. The smart TV will give you access to some of your favorite apps. Leaving the living room you will see the bathroom with a tub/shower. The 2 rooms are through the small hall way, one on each side of the bathroom. The primary bedroom is large with a seating area with a desk, perfect for doing some work or reading a book. The bedroom is very comfortable. 2 hanging closest with extra blankets. The second bedroom again welcomes you in with a comfortable bed and a fun design. A perfect place to relax. You will have plenty of space in our apartment so you can relax. Plenty of space for a group of 6.

You will have the entire apartment, including in unit washer and dryer. With a large parking lot you don't have to think about parking. Simple walk up the stairs you are at your home away from home.
