Paola checked in on us to answer questions and suggest places to go in the area, so we had good "insider" information for our planning. The drive up and down the hill takes concentration for someone who isn't a local driver, but it's worth it to explore the town of Formia and its beaches. When we wanted a change, we did the same things in the nearby town of Gaeta. The train station is a short drive from the house and it's easy to get a train into Naples for the day. It is not a five star apartment with a swimming pool but it is a lovely homely two bed-roomed apartment. By the end of the week we wanted to buy it! Locally there is a very good Bakery, Pizzeria, Roast Chicken shop and a little supermarket. We ate most evenings in Il Tartufo restaurant which was exceptionally good and only two minutes walk away. The apartment has everything needed for a beach holiday including extra beach towns, wind breakers and chairs. - "Plenty of room for 8 people (3 couples and 2 kids)! This house is huge and so beautiful! The views are amazing, the furniture is comfortable, the yard was awesome! We appreciated the fully functional kitchen which included some basic spices. There was direct beach access and some chairs and umbrellas for relaxing on the beach.. with 2 kids, beach toys would have made a nice addition, but they enjoyed nonetheless. The outdoor shower was FANTASTIC to rinse everyone off- especially the kids after a beach day! This house rental is managed by a rental company rather than the owner, so even with messages being sent through VRBO prior to our arrival, they all went unanswered. I received an email 3 days before check in with a contacts name and phone number. We communicated through WhatsApp. Simone was great to work with and very responsive once we had her contact info. While we were there, the air in my daughters room didn’t seem to be working. The owner ended up coming out to look at it. It was indeed broken- nothing that could be done in the short time we were there. It was ok as there was enough breezes so she want uncomfortable. The owner was very friendly and stayed and chatted with us for a bit. Before we left, we all talked about how we would love to come back to this house in the future for a longer stay! Would not hesitate to stay here again- just longer!"
