We called the host, someone arrived about 10 minutes later. We spent the next 40-50 minutes with one of the most incompetent people we’ve ever encountered in hospitality. I won’t detail the entirety of the now laughable encounter, except this person advised us to drive up a one way street the wrong way, she became quasi hysterical (before this “advice”) then promptly spent 5 or 10 minutes arguing with our host on the phone. What we could decipher was that she didn’t want to work with foreign guests anymore. A shame as Gaeta is a fascinating and wonderful place, the accommodation itself is not bad, though odd."
