The space
The home features two bedrooms with queen size beds and 1/2 story bedroom with a twin XL and twin bed. It has one and a 3/4 bathrooms. The full bathroom is on the 1st floor situated between the queen bedrooms and has tub/shower combo. The 3/4 bathroom in the basement has a shower, toilet, and sink (see photos). The home has a front porch with a table and chairs to relax in the mornings or evenings. It has a large backyard with a covered porch, but currently under repair (be careful when using the yard). The kitchen includes full size appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher). It is conveniently stocked with a Keurig, toaster, cooking and bakeware, dishes, and cutlery. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. The home has a driveway that can accommodate two cars and also has free on street parking.

This beautiful, recently renovated loft is in the heart of historic downtown Chillicothe. Built in the 1840's, this space features soaring 11’ ceilings, a fully stocked kitchen and private parking. You will have the entire space to yourself and be within walking distance to all downtown has to offer; shopping, breweries, coffee shops, restaurants and beautiful Yoctangee Park. You will be steps away from the historic Majestic Theater as well as a downtown trolley stop. Please note, the loft is located on the second floor, the stairs are a bit steep and for this reason, we do not recommended our space for the elderly or small children.

This is a cabin getaway with a genuine farm vibe. Here you will often spot our cows and horses grazing peacefully in their pastures and you will be warmly welcomed into our original Hirsch Farm Market store, where you can browse and purchase fresh in season fruits and vegetables. We also boast a fully operational cider house where we create our own fresh cider!

This cabin is 1/2 of a spacious duplex that sleeps 4 comfortably with a queen bed and full bath on the first level and 2 twin beds with a 1/2 bath upstairs. There is plenty of room to add an air mattress if needed.

The functional kitchen includes cookware and serving dishes and opens up to the dining/living room space.

Enjoy the outdoors on the deck or around the fire pit.

Guests can enjoy over 450 acres of our fourth generation farm. Here you can go fishing in our ponds, hiking through our wooded hills, or just go strolling through our beautiful apple orchard.

Nearby you can visit some of Chillicothe's wonderful attractions. Our town is proud to be home of the popular outdoor drama Tecumseh along with the Hopewell Culture National Historic Parks. There are also local canoe/ kayak liveries where you can spend the day floating and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Paint Creek.

Sunset Cottage is a vintage, Wi-fi free rental nestled in the farmland near Washington CH, OH and minutes off of HWY 35. - "Great place, very clean and very accessible to restaurants!" - "The apartment was the cleanest short term rental I've ever stayed in. Check in was easy. I didn't cook but the kitchen had everything you would need. But just basics. Plus plus coffee and coffee filters were there. And a few snacks. Bathroom had all the basics avaliable. Plenty of paper supplies. Easy walk to the downtown restaurants and shopping. The air conditioning is windrow units and there was only one in the master bedroom and one in the living room. I asked and quickly received one for the second bedroom. The house had no curb appeal and the porch and entry way with steps were not very clean. There is only street parking but there was always some available in close proximity. The houseplants get in the way a bit. There was a big plant in front of the only towel bar in the bathroom. You had to step into the plant to dry your hands. I moved the plant. There is no where to unload your clothes and no where to open your suitcase. No dresser and the closet is full of cleaning supplies. You have to open your suitcase on the floor and live out of it. Over all a good place to stay. "

Throughout the history of 58 W. 5th, there were numerous women who have been the bedrock in establishing and preserving this home as a beacon in Chillicothe society. For nearly 100 years the house was passed down through the matrilineal line of Ellen Tiffin Cook, daughter of the first governor of Ohio Edward Tiffin. We pay our respect to all these dignified and hospitable ladies by naming, what has always been considered, the "Matrons Room".

The entrance and hallway is a shared space as there are two apartments upstairs in this building both are operated by our company.

- "Needed a multi bedroom alternative to two hotel rooms. The Loft was so great. Hip and cool part of town. Central, so close to everything. Inside was fantastic! Host thought about guest experience! It is an upstairs “Loft” so be ready to take luggage up steps. It is downtown in a very cool area so on street parking is limited and regulated. But Host has a spot for you in back. That street parking is awesome for load /unload."

- "Fantastic house. Plenty of room for everybody. All the beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of amenities that we found very useful. We weren’t expecting a two car garage so that was a nice surprise. If I had to complain about one thing it would have the entrance to the garage was pretty steep. My friend’s sedan is low and a heck of time getting in and out but we made it work. Regardless we would defiantly stay again!"

In 1815 when this room was added onto the main house, one could gaze out the south facing window and see Honey Creek winding across the property near the old stables. This quaint stream flowed across much of the western end of Chillicothe, and in 1919 Honey Creek was converted into a subterranean waterway that still flows beneath many streets, homes and businesses throughout the historic district. A copy of an early 1800s map showing the path of Honey Creek adorns the wall in this room.

This four-season retreat is perfect for relaxing, celebrating milestones, or testing your adventurous spirit! It offers access to a charming downtown area, nearby hiking and mountain biking trails, and serenity within the cabin.

The home features four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a half bathroom. The primary bedroom has a king-size bed, with the additional bedrooms featuring a queen bed (upper), and two full beds (main and lower levels). The primary and lower-level bedrooms also feature a fold-out futon, providing sleeping accommodations for up to ten persons. The recently remodeled bathrooms offer a walk-in shower on the main level and a double vanity with a soaking tub on the lower level. The family room on the lower level features a comfortable L-shaped couch, a TV, and access to log in to your streaming services. The main level offers the entryway den with an electric fireplace, TV, and cozy seating. A working woodfire stove, a fire pit with seating for six, a 6-person hot tub with a new cover, whole-house WIFI are all also amenities at the cabin. The house has cooking conveniences (pots/pans/dinnerware/glassware/silverware), spices, and a coffee bar. Firewood is supplied on the front porch for the fire pit and wood stove. Designed for the guest who seeks a more extensive accommodation, this 2-room suite offers a king bed, dressers, and dining table. The redesigned bathroom is equipped with walk-in shower, free standing tub, water closet and twin vanities. A separate living room provides additional comfort with wet bar, television, chair, ottoman, and queen sleeper sofa with a Tempur-Pedic mattress. The Spencer Suite is accessible from the main stairway, or through a private staircase in the Butler's Pantry.
In 1810, Jesse Spencer was the registrar of the land office at Chillicothe, and a partner of Thomas Worthington (who had acquired the house after Nathaniel Willis). Upon buying the property from Worthington, Spencer made a few improvements including the construction of a second story over the original Willis house. That first addition, believed to be his office at the time, now encompasses the bath and living room of the suite.
