Welcome to the Andrew Behm cabin,
Visitors to the cabin will enjoy a peaceful rural experience while viewing the breathtaking views of the rolling foothills of Adams County. Named after the first family to settle the land in the 1800’s, Behm Mountain Cabin is a relaxing spot in the wilds of Adams County, Ohio. The cabin is reconstructed from the original stones and hand-hewn logs of several historical structures, originally built over 100 years ago. Relax in front of the wood burning fireplace and enjoy a peaceful night's rest on one of the three queen beds with pillow-top mattresses. Behm Cabin sleeps up to 6 people - great for a family retreat. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with unique concrete and antique counter spaces; if you choose to cook everything you need is available. There are two full bathrooms with tiled showers and provided linens. The master bath has an antique sink and rock counter. Behm is intentionally low-tech, however there is a T.V. on Dish Network and a DVD player provided. If you need phone service, please bring your cell phone. Our cleaning charges are included in the base price, so there is no additional added at check-out!!

The property includes 40 acres with abundant wildlife and some walking paths. The area is a peaceful place to grill-out and sit at the picnic table under the timber framed gazebo. You can also relax by the fire pit and stargaze or let the kids catch fireflies. Complimentary firewood for fireplace and outdoor fire pit is provided.

There are several attractions all located 30 minutes or less from the cabin. The world famous Serpent Mound, the Wheat Ridge Amish Community and shops, the Edge of Appalachia and Arc of Appalachia nature preserve hiking trails, Chaparral Prairie and Davis Memorial hiking trails, Ohio Brush Creek which is great for canoeing, kayaking and fishing, Adams Lake State Park, Shawnee State Park, Mineral Springs Lake, and the Adams County Quilt Barn trail.

Quick Hikes within a mile of the home, we have Shoemaker Nature Preserve. Five miles from our home is Chalet Nivale, Arc of Appalachia--shaded hollows, vertical cliffs, rare plants, carved out by two of Ohio's cleanest streams. Both are easier excellent hikes. Fort Hill is a hike through a mature forest to the top of the ridge where a 2000 yr-old mystery of the Hopewell culture awaits. Hike more intense Buzzard's Roost, or check out the Arc of Appalachia's site for more challenging hikes. Or simply stay at the cozy cabin; you're likely to see deer and wild turkeys! Welcome to the Rebecca Behm antique log cabin. Named after the wife of Andrew Behm, the original 1864 owner of our private 40 acres. The 2000 square feet cabin is located on a dead-end road with very little traffic, it's the perfect spot to relax and getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The logs in the cabin are antique, but don't worry, you will enjoy all modern amenities. There is central heat and air-conditioning, to keep you comfortable year round. Do you like to cook? The kitchen is fully stocked with bakeware and a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The kitchen and dining area have an open floor plan. You can dine on the large custom made, reclaimed lumber farm table with plenty of seating for all your guests. Featured in the kitchen/dining area is an antique wood bar and large stone topped table. When the weather is nice you can step right outside the kitchen to the porch to use the gas grill and enjoy the forest scenery while dining at the outdoor table. The living room features a wood burning fireplace (we provide all firewood) and comfortable furniture with cozy blankets for those cool winter evenings. There is a unique antique walnut corner cabinet that contains the television connected to Dish network. There are 3 bedrooms each with queen size beds and pillowtop mattresses. The upstairs master suite has a cozy sitting area and connects to a spacious timber framed bathroom. We provide a full size washer and dryer in the laundry room. The 2 bathrooms have custom tiled showers and hand made vanities out of reclaimed materials. We enjoy collecting antiques and have incorporated several pieces of unique furniture throughout the house. One of of favorite features of this cabin are the large porches that surround the home. The outdoor fireplace (all wood is provided) is great for roasting smores and enjoying the star filled sky.

Items to Note prior to booking:
Location is remote but there is some cell service.
House sets up in the woods on a hill, drive is older asphalt which is a little rough but manageable even with a car. If you have more than one vehicle, overflow parking is available at the bottom.
There is a duplex with tenants sitting on the same property so drive is shared however you have your own space including decks and yard to yourself.

The owner has equipped the vacation rental with amenities to make your stay more enjoyable. Unfortunately, we cannot refund monies or relocate guests due to any of these (TV, VCR, DVD, gas log fireplace, jetted tub, hot tub, pool table, gaming system, small appliances, etc.) not working or malfunctioning. No refunds will be made for acts of God, loss of electrical power, water, air conditioning, or cable outages. In the event of a mechanical failure, we will make every effort to have all reported malfunctions corrected as promptly as possible. All our properties are privately owned.

We supply enough consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher pods, laundry det, trash bags etc...to get started. If you have multiple guests, long stays, or use a lot of these items be prepared to bring your own or pickup at one of the local convenience stores nearby. We do not restock these items while being rented.

two patios to rest, grill, sit around a bon fire and take in the amazing views this property has to offer.
Facing Southwest, this is the best spot on the lake to enjoy a glass of wine in the evenings and watch the
sun set over the water. Guests will have access to all of the common areas in the home as well as four bedrooms, a loft area that sleeps two
and two and a half baths. Please note that several beds are bunk beds, so please consider this when thinking about the number of adults and children you are booking. The docks, patio, fire pit and all outdoor spaces are all available for Guest use.
If you choose to bring a boat, there is a boat ramp at the State Park and your boat may be docked at the
home using one of the two docks. The Lake White Marina, which offers additional rentals, supplies and
gas, is walkable from the home.
The home is conveniently located within 90 minutes of Columbus and
Cincinnati, and many hiking trails are within 20 minutes. If you are up for more adventure in the hills,
Hocking Hills is about an hour away as well. However, there is no need to ever leave the paradise this home has to offer!
This property is not to be used for parties or for guests over the maximum number listed. Please note
that all guests who consume alcohol on the property must be 21 or older.
* Note that the lake is at winter pool November-April, so some water activities may be limited during these months. Feel free to ask us about specific dates and the water level before booking.

This stylish waterfront loft is perfect for experiencing lake life. The modern two bed, one bath apartment is only a few steps from the water with large views of the lake from every window. The Lake White Marina boat ramp, boat dock, recreation fuel and paddle sports are all on property. The deck is great for an early morning cup of coffee while the fog is still on the water and our colorful sunsets are beautiful and rarely disappoint.

Lake White lowers the water level approximately 4 feet to winter pool the beginning of November. It is returned to summer pool the beginning of April. Please contact host with any questions.

Newly renovated mobile home. We have added comfort and hospitality to this home. Located in a small country village with lots of space to relax. The entire home is yours for the duration of your reservation.
For those who sight see and want something to do, this home is located around 25 minutes from DOGWOOD PASS an old time wild west town and 2 hours from Noah's Ark. We have had several guests who have visited the Ark and they said it was an absolutely wondrous event to take in. We are also close to the Christmas Cave located in Minford, Ohio about a 45-minute travel. For the outdoors man who hunts, our guests have had lots of success on their trips here.

- "great place clean a little ways out but worth the drive great value" - "The property was adequate for a hunting trip. There was a major ant infestation. One disappointment, clothes washer. Extremely strong perfume smell which prevented use for washing hunting clothing. Recommend not using perfume based detergents if intent to rent to hunters. Master bedroom bed mattress needs replacement, no support at all. Owner was extremely friendly and generous with finding alternate parking for truck/trailer."

Amazing place to stay! Super quiet and private. Small-town vibes in the middle of nowhere. Great convenience store right across the road to walk to for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and a full supply of groceries. Horses and buggies ride past throughout each day from the neighboring Amish families. Incredibly relaxing, and rejuvenating. Perfect getaway from the busy city lifestyle.
